love these documentaries. European technology never ceases to amaze. British challengers, German Leopards and artillery, and Swedish IFVs. Everything is really well designed. Hope they ramp up production and help bring this conflict to a close as soon as possible
Aye, actully there's been a number of comfirmed russian older tank models thats been taken out by CV90 40mm cannon alone, (T80's and such) Not from Penetrating it's front hull or such, but rather completly disabling it, Breaking most sensors, stripping it of reactive armours leaving it vunerable to other forms of attacks more & breaking their tracks, thus Crew abandoning it and later on either permanently destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers or salvaged! Neither of these situations are like normal, and rare as IFV's in general are not supposed to engage tanks on purpose.
And that's only on the 40mm variant used only by Sweden and Ukraine. The 40mm main gun was chosen for the CV90 because Sweden had more surplus 40mm/L60 Bofors AA guns and ammo in cold war mobilisation storage when the CV90 was first designed than our scrap metal industry could process, and our ammo industry could easily develop a 40mm APDS round with enough penetration to skip a Bradley or BMP style anti tank missile launcher completely. The regular export versions of the CV90 has 30mm or 35mm belt fed chainguns, and the latest also carries either a SpikeLR or Acheron ATGM launcher😊
@@SonsOfLorgar 35mm is better because it has much greater rate of fire. The old 40mm can only fire some rounds and had to manually reload. I think thats bad. Bradley doing good because it can continuisly fire for very long time
That 40mm gun has been around for such a lomg time (original version from 1930s) and has been built under license in many countries. There's loads of ammo for it all over the world.
I would have thought these are way more useful in the Ukraine conflict than heavy tanks - they have the firepower to take on bigger foes while also disintegrating soft cover with that rapid fire cannon / looks great too!

the words of the users can only be taken lighly. but the fear and reaction of the opposition speaks nothing but the truth about the capabilities of these vehicles.
This is a marketing ploy and a good way of testing the product for Sweden which is simply using Ukrainians as guinea pigs to test the durability of the CV90 in modern combat especially against Russian made weaponry. The results of this testing will later be used as material for improvements to the latest variant of the CV90. and at the same time promoting the latest variant of the CV90, namely the CV90MK4 or MK5 in the future to other potential consumer countries. at very least for every Ukrainian or even Russian citizen who is dying or even dead and also losing family members, homes and everything due to war. would be a huge boon to the Military Industrial Complex
with Ajax finally coming into UK service and looking pretty effective, i still believe we should have spent the money on this instead, we could have had thousands for the same price we are getting 500 or so ajax
The Ajax is an advanced combat reconnaissance vehicle, the CV-90 primarily designed as an infantry fighting vehicle, though it can be upgraded to a similar role there are potential penalties due to the increased weight, etc. that would entail, though I still think we'd have been better off adopting the CV-90, the Warrior is still very capable in the IFV role as well.
Would be great for the Ukrainians if they received other variants of the CV90 such as the CV90 Mjölner or AMOS both are designed for close artillery support than having to rely on long range artillery guns and missile systems like the M777, HIMARS, etc., and especially the CV90120 with its 120mm main gun and pair it up with the CV9040, the pair would give the Orcs something to seriously think about surrendering or retreating.
This is off subject for this video but it’s on my mind. Has anyone looked into the use of barrage balloons like they used in WW2? Granted high end missiles & aircraft would likely easily avoid such balloons but it occurs to me that it could make drone attacks especially on civilian targets more difficult & possibly force drones into a defensive kill zone.
With sales pitches like this, no wonder my Saab stocks are going through the roof :P No honestly, nice to see the stuff Sweden build really works for its intended task. Which is defending from a Russian invasion if we're being honest.
No wonder they're running out of ammo if they use tank cannons for indirect fire. Right or wrong, that's not what their ammo reserves were designed for.

@@flummi6966 They will never be. The concept is already bad. It's the typical uneconomical gold plate approach of the last decades.
@@Micha-qv5ufthe puma would have been good, but they aren’t reliable at all. Its sad, bc the idea of the Puma was good, the outcoming result wasn’t. Im happy that our country (i am swiss) has the CV9030. He is reliable and, for a IFV, strong tank. Germany also got Marder btw✌🏻 he isn’t as good as the CV tbf but he still is a strong IFV.
Wait untill the new CV90 is in the market with hightech invisible system, not even a IR can find it. Is calculatet to be in market about 20230

love these documentaries. European technology never ceases to amaze. British challengers, German Leopards and artillery, and Swedish IFVs. Everything is really well designed. Hope they ramp up production and help bring this conflict to a close as soon as possible
All your examples are scrap metal now. Time for negotiations.

A 40mm automatic cannon is tough on reactive armour. The first hit is nothing, the following five on the other hand.
Impressive vehicle. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦!
Nicelittle bit of kit isn't it? The autocannon tracer line was as straight as I've ever seen.
Thankyou Sweden.
Who disagree? Even russian general praise. The only complain they have is the manual loading of the 40mm gun magazine.
@@martinfox3478 but it cant fire for that much anyway lol. maybe there is a way to improve its loading mechanism but ATM it just suck.
@@jeanmuyuela8112 Why is the American military looking to upgrade their Bradleys to 50mm cannon then? Larger caliber longer range and penetration.

I would have thought these are way more useful in the Ukraine conflict than heavy tanks - they have the firepower to take on bigger foes while also disintegrating soft cover with that rapid fire cannon / looks great too!
Yeah. It's like choosing between Ali and Frazier in the jungle. One "floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee", the other have a lethal punch -- but "his hands can't hit what his eyes can't see".
I've always wondered what the defined limit between the two is...
Ukrainians, turning a troop carrier into a self propelled gun. Sure, not as large shells as proper artillery, but against small concentrations of dismounted infantry it should work nicely.
The fact the gun is accurate enough in that configuration however, is probably something to be proud of as a Swede.

J'adore les différente varirante du CV90 ❤ Le CV90 avec un canon de 105mm a t'il aussi été envoyer ?
Sweden doesn't have any version of the CV90 with anything other than 40mm gun as far as I know, just prototypes.
@@AlexKall There are other versions, CV9030, 35 and 40 are the autocannon versions. There are also the prototypes with 105 and 120 mm smoothbore guns for anti-tank role. From the looks of it the CV90120 is gonna be making it to production.
@@Basih Of what you listed there, Sweden only operates CV9040.
Merci beaucoup pour vos réponse. Savez vous si des Stryker américains armé de canon de 105mm on été envoyer en ukraine?
which one is better CV-90MK4 or KF-41 ? and why ?
the design of the KF-41 is based on CV-90
the words of the users can only be taken lighly. but the fear and reaction of the opposition speaks nothing but the truth about the capabilities of these vehicles.

It has any anti shovel equipment? 😅
With out large numbers, proper formations, training and logistics, these awsome vehicles won't have much effect.

No wonder they're running out of ammo if they use tank cannons for indirect fire.
Right or wrong, that's not what their ammo reserves were designed for.
They use what they have.
I have seen videos of Ukrainian soldiers using the Carl-Gustav as artillery as well.
@@Merecir I would say that is not "using". That's just wasting. That's just as useless as throwing rocks, those shells will have zero impact.
they use tanks as artillery because NATO arsenals are empty. NATO and the USA do not have shells for Ukraine and Israel.
@@СерхиоБускетс-ф7я It is the Soviet thinking still present in the Ukrainian commanders.
Russia uses regular tanks like this all the time, most of the tanks killed by drones behind the lines are killed when they are just idling in the same spot as artillery.
