My sister is definitely type three. I can't tell how many times we've been talking with someone and she's gotten the "yes, exactly" or "you get it" or "how did you knew". Is so easy for her to genuinely connect with people.

I'm the empathetic type, but I stopped talking to two of my friends because of that. They always fight with each other and both come to me to pour their hearts out. But in normal times, they never talk to me and they never ask how I am, they just come to tell me their problems. I told them the same thing I wrote here.

Oh my god, that clip of Steve Irwin nearly brought me to tears. He was a huge reason I started learning as much as I have about animals. This is a very good video I will be sharing with friends.
Edit: Weirdly, I have bursts of the energetic type. I talk with my hands all the time but I get overwhelmed if I feel people are spending too much time looking at me. I start to feel like I am taking up too much of people's attention.

    • @007Julie

It happens to me too, I’m an extrovert and I like to talk a lot, not because I like attention but I enjoy company, they feed me their energy hence I get more hyper and talk even more. But then I get subconscious that people are looking at me and that’s when I just shut up and let others take over. Btw, Steve Irwin’s clip also made my heart ache a bit, he wanted to do so much, he left such an immense legacy, his children are amazing people who are making a huge difference but still his presence is deeply missed. 😢

      @DavidDavyDavidson Рік тому +8

Ditto on #5, and I expect most people with the time and inclination to watch this channel gravitate towards that. Listen to the criticism you're receiving. Too serious could mean you need to emote more, or talk about things that carry a little levity. Defensive could mean that you view disagreement as an opportunity to debate. Most people hate to debate and might perceive your argument as a defensive response. Turn disagreement into an opportunity to empathize by asking just a few questions about their point of view, then switch subjects. Or maybe I'm wrong about everything.

The 4th type is the definition of Ni (introverted Intuition) in cognitive functions and their pitfall is just the same as the video describes.
In N. American culture Ni is valued quite highly and often the power of having broad horizons and see through all the possibilities and prepare for the bad or utilise the good, is underrated, viewed as something that holds you back. Especially when it's combined with sensor practical-tangible realism.
Having a goal and being focused on it is very important. However, we need to have our eyes open for the other paths life and circumstances can lead us to. And if possible, be able to adapt to that. Being realistic and flexible is also very important.

@@F-7-B ENTJs' true power is that they combine Ni with their dominant Ni, so they tend to be more flexible taking into consideration the changes of the present and enact their plans. A more funny attitude might not be as suitable for you as getting people to follow your vision needs respect that mostly people that tend to be more serious gain more easily. Finding the sense of humour that suits you though, like being witty and elevate others as part of the team, might work for you.

Believe it or not, Miss Manners has the best advice for the first type (funny), which is to remember that the only consistently safe subject of a joke is yourself. Learn to poke fun at yourself (without being self-deprecating) and you’ll charm the socks off people. The complimentary teasing suggested here works well too, as long as it doesn’t appear fake or ingratiating.

I think I'm the authentic type. I work in a makeup store, and just a few days ago my coworker was whispering about a client who was super "orange" with a very dark tan. I saw who she was talking about, went up to the client and announced, "Are you darker than last summer?!" I talked with both the client and my coworker, talking about how I found foundation to match her fake tan a few times. We both knew it was a fake tan because her palms and wrists were as white as I am (I also joke about being the color of paper to anyone with dark shin) Apparently, she gave up fake tanning because of maintenance, and was doing tanning bed once a week. Anyways, after the client left, my coworker told me she was worried about me at first, because she thought I was too blunt. I assured her that this was someone I've had plenty of interactions with.
I think the hardest part of being "authentic" is that, especially in a work environment like the one above, you must learn to pull that honesty back, and let yourself build up a relationship before being free. Some people really respond to honesty, and clients have called me "efficient" because I'll tell them if a perfume smells bad or if a foundation is wrong for their skin type, and I don't focus on it and suggest something else. But I know it's off putting for some, even disrespectful, and my biggest weakness is reading other people's cues.

For the self-assured type, the keyword is they "seem" to know exactly what they're doing/wanting . Like he said in the video we all have insecurities and no one actually knows it all. This is good to know for 2 reasons, 1) don't compare yourself to them thinking they're perfect and look down on yourself
    2) never just blindly follow someone or put them on a pedestal just because they seem so "self-assured"
    😉 💪

What is a brutal truth about life that needs to be said?
Stop hoping for wrong things. No matter how hard the bird tries, it can never fly in the ocean. All your dreams are valid but most of your hopes aren't.
The world won't believe in you until you believe in yourself. All the accomplishments in life start with self-belief.
No one cares enough. Even your own reflection never hugs your own Shadow and you think others care for you. No one cares enough about your problems except your family.
Stop searching for things you already have. We live in a world where people always are so desperate to find happiness when they already have it. Little joys aren't that little.
People assume those who cry are the weakest. Even the mighty sky that holds the sun, moon and stars cry rain. For me they are the kindest ones.
We live in a world where strangers can become best friends as easily as best friends can become strangers.
Graveyards and temples(churches, mosques, gumbas) are mostly filled with people who fears the most .
Listen to every advice but interpret the meaning of only few.
Some people are gonna criticize you for doing what's unexpected from you even if its a noble deed. Don't criticise me for writing 9 points instead of 7.

During the graham norton interview with Brand, he had just gotten divorced and Norton mentioned that Katie perry had been on the show the week before. Brand got offended and told him off. The clip was cut from the televised show but it made the news here in the UK (you might be able to find the article on google) . Brand was a bit off for the rest of the show and i think thats why his interaction with emily blunt was a little tactless.

This question is based on another video. In this video you used Will Smith and his son as an example of "continuing to speak even when others interrupt or try to cut you off." My question is, suppose you are a junior employee and in an office setting the manager speaks while you are speaking, so you continue speaking to the end. After you have finished they say "sorry, what did you say?" Should you repeat yourself?
