    We end up living at the bus garage/depot, due to the amount of hours that we all work every week.

    Hello Mike, just caught up with this one, agree with all you say, except the bit where you say Tfl will jump down on the Company if they break the Law, it is the Traffic Commissioners, (the people who issue the Operator's, Licences (Blue or green disc on the nearside windscreen), who will do this. They can shut a PSV Operator down for hours or maintenance rules breaches.
    As far as Drivers go they can revoke their PCV Entitlements for anything from a driving ban to a Criminal Conviction. powerful people.
    Hope you and Missus are keeping well, don't forget, next Sunday, (17th) the Bromley Vintage Running Day is on, at least a couple of RT's on the old 94, Grove Park to Petts Wood, and single deck RF's on the 227.

    Here is a very good question, how does driving hours or even a duty work on a clock change? E.g as you know clocks go forward and back once a year, how does this effect some duties? Or you not sure on this as most TB duties are in by 1am any how?

    • @_Mikes_Life

      The duties don’t change, just the clocks.

    nice vid mate.. 1st question, working before with STG, do you always take your 5mins break before starting your next trip?
    2nd question, what are the implications of taking or not taking your 5 mins break on every trip?
    hope to get answers from you mate and it will be much appreciated.. Many thanks 👍

    • @_Mikes_Life

      I would always take 5mins. Unless I was coming off for meal relief or home. Where time is of the essence.
      If you’re late you’re late. Toilet breaks are important. Always tell the controller. He can’t make you drive through, but he can ask.

    What is count as a driving time ? Does first bus use check is counted as a driving time ? If you have 5 minutes break between services on a terminal point does it count as driving time or not ?

      Driving time is the time you spend driving. Not stand time just driving the bus.

    Hi, i am in the process of joining metroline on reading the contract it says you are responsible for traffic fines incurred, is this something bus drivers worry about or are councils more forgiving for busses on their box junctions, have you had to pay any.

    • @_Mikes_Life
      @_Mikes_Life  3 роки тому +2

      I’ve not had fines. You wouldn’t get many council fines as they are generally parking. You’re more likely to get speeding or traffic light points and fines.

    Tangent!...how about this one...most bus companies now-a-days circumvent the EU rules by splitting their bus routes over 50km (which is indeed 31.0686 miles) so for instance, Stagecoach around my end run a Route (555 from Lancaster to Keswick) the route used to run as one route but since the EU rules were introduced, it is now "split" half way, the same bus, same driver, same route number. The only difference is on the timetable it shows a little connection icon and tells passengers to remain on the vehcle.

    • @_Mikes_Life
      @_Mikes_Life  3 роки тому +1

      If there’s a break in the route. It would get around the rules, I believe.

    Tiredness is the biggest enemy of a bus driver. Accidents are inevitable with these domestic rules. I think the bus drivers hours are all over the place. It’s time they were tidied up to protect drivers. It will never happen.suppose I have to say Tangent. Enjoy you week off. Hope not to see you in it your honour
