The good thing about bus driving is that the cargo is mainly self-loading. The bad part is that the cargo can speak.

@@westerlywinds5684 only if you do private hire coach work. If you work for the likes of Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann or even some of the private operators it would be year round.
Over here in the UK the main things that set bus driving apart from coach and truck driving are, if you do local service work you don't need a tacho, the shifts are set out for you so you know when you start and finish, the only thing worse is the money and if you aren't a people person it isn't the job for you.
I've been a bus driver for 27 years with the same company so far, I love it and own several preserved buses too.
I used to drive coaches part time liked shuttle runs you should be apeople person ideally especially for touring and stuff greetings from ireland
If a person has been working for London buses 🚌 could he drive coaches? Or he needs a HGV license?
@@iiparachuteregiment8800 If you drive buses you have the right qualification and can drive coaches also. As long as you have the full D licence and don't just drive category D1 minibuses. You need a CPC (certificate of professional competance) qualification which all bus drivers will have.

The advantage of driving trucks over coaches is that the cargo doesn't answer back or get travel sick!
On coaches the cargo loads and unloads itself 😉
Yes please show more buses/coaches. I've got PSV and I'm doing my HGV1 this month. I gave up driving coaches because I didn't like people talking behind my back 😂

Hello Stavros, No you shouldn't become a bus driver, personally I do enjoy when you share with us everything about truck and truck driving.
Stavros FYI the door on the driver’s side in the middle is known as the continental door for when the coach crosses the English Channel over to Europe so the passengers can get out on the kerb without getting run over if they were to exit on the normal side.
They put the MAN bus steering wheel into the truck , makes sense now !

You should take a driving lesson on a bus, will be fun. When I was wrapping up for my D class driving lessons they let me have a go at one of their trucks, lots of fun, but apparently truckdrivers seem to struggle with being able to put a fair bit of the nose over curbs.
The front overhang takes getting used to, around the city as you said and especially around narrow twisty mountain roads. You have to wrap your head around the fact that the steered axles actually sit behind you and you have to steer earlier if you don't want to scrape or bang the front edges against a rock outcropping. The same goes for the caterpillar mirrors too I suppose

Nice on stavros your right about the dodgy sticking out rear view mirrors I was driving a iveco rigid on a local r road and a bus pulled straight out from a side road when he swung out he caught my mirror and ripped the full arm clean off my truck

@@Wheels_of_Simulation buses go round in circles,coaches go in straight lines!! Buses don't have luggage compartments either!!

I've driven bus/coach and class1 in equal measure for over 20yrs and they both have pros and cons.

Well you could always become a Railroad Engineer (Train Driver) for BNSF, Union Pacific, CSX, Norfolk Southern or Amtrak depending on if you prefer passenger trains or freight but I think you would like the GE ES44AC's though as they make a nice noise!

Start by driving for Uber so you get an idea of how much trouble 2, 3 or 4 people can be. The driving really is second nature, keeping peace in the car is the real challenge.
Think of it as an elongated rigid truck! Or maybe just the trailer not the tractor unit! Hehe! Someone who is 6ft2" might find most busses cramped!! A nice change video Stavros! Good viewing.

Hi StavrosJust spotted in Norway a Volvo tractor unit with 400 kw/h battery unit with 40 foot refrigerated container attached. Wouldn’t mind seeing a test of this! Oh, and supporting 350kw/h fast charging.

Don't bother Iv'e packed it in after 30 years......It's not just driving it's cleaning up after everybody...12 hour day becomes a 13 to 14 hour day as you need to fuel them, sweep them out mop them out.......stay on the trucks
