Why are you all acting as if what she's saying isn't valid and what she brought to PCD wasn't valuable. She auditioned as a singer and never really got to show her skills off the way she'd like. Everyone has the right to leave a job that isn't fulfilling them. No need to try and bash her and say she wasn't a good singer or dancer because none of those things are really true.
What irks me is her reason. She said that she's a vocalist and not a dancer that's why she's not joining pcd reunion yet she's joining dancing on ice? Lmao. At least she will have concerts and new songs if she joined the pcd. And definitely more close to being a singer.

Im 23 yrs old now and pussycat dolls been a great part of my childhood, and i really thought before that they are nicole back dancers but now atleast i know that they auditioned for singers too who never give a chance to use their singing style on their entire journey at pcd.

I was initially sad when I heard she wouldn't be a part of the reunion, but I respect her decision. Let's be honest, no one really wants to be in a girl group or boyband anyway. Everyone wants to be a solo artist and use those types of groups as a stepping stone. From Beyonce to Justin Timberlake to Camila Cabello to even Nicole Scherzinger, etc. literally happens every time.

So here’s the thing. I love melody. She is a great vocalist. The problem is that her voice is great to blend with Nicole’s but she’s not a lead vocalist. Her voice is overpowering. To me, it’s similar to putting Christina Aguilera as the lead vocalist of a girl group. She’s also admitted that she’s not a dancer and as lead u need to be able to do both and have singing and dancing presence. Overall, I think she really should have gotten back with PCD. She could’ve shown a different side to her vocals and enhance her career cause she’s doing more reality than anything music related.
Well....the reunion imploded, so she made the right choice. And she's actually doing music on her own, but primarily performing on the stage (as the lead in Cinderella, The Bodyguard, etc.).
And the lead of PCD does not have to be a great dancer...Nicole is not (by her own admission). Regardless of Nicole being the lead, it makes no sense that Melody (and Carmit, who is also a good singer) were not given more. I don't think she was necessarily even gunning for THE lead - she just wanted to sing lead sometimes. Kelly, for example, sang lead occasionally in DC.
What she could've done is join the reunion and ask for leads, do the tour, maybe album, and then bow out gracefully doing her own thing bigger than what she's doing now 👌🏾

the only non-lead band/group member I know who can really sing who's on par or even outsing their group's lead singer is Robbie Williams from Take That. There are other non-leads out there who sing just as good as the lead (Kelly Rowland of DC), but the reality is when you're on a group there will always be a lead singer or someone who outshines the rest (BSB and Spice Girls are an exception to me). Being chosen or seen as lead doesn't just have to be because of the voice. It's charisma too, or the x-factor or whatever you may call it.
And you are talented gurl and I loved your voice on PCD. But the fact that you aren't as big as you thought you could be on your own, proves my point that just having the voice isn't enough.
Go join that tour and get that $$$. Maybe you can use some of that $$$ to make your own record.

I agree. Melody was and is my favorite but I think she is being prideful right now. Yeah she may not of had any leads but she still had little things here and there and that is where people fell in love with her. And yes she could use the money to benefit her.

How ironic is it that she won't do a reunion saying that she's a "vocalist" but is happy to do these stupid reality shows. Its not like she didn't sing at all with PCD, she sang background and did most of the ad-libs. IF they did reunite she would be singing on tour (maybe not as much as she would like) but her mic would still be on AND it would be the perfect opportunity to sing one of her solo songs and perform to thousands of people every night. She could promote her own stuff and would be receiving alot of money to fund her solo career. She's literally turning down the opportunity to sing in arenas when she can't even sell out a club. Not about that. None of the Dolls are selling out arenas, but they have zero desire to get back together if it's going to be like it was before with Nicole singing 95% of the time. Bands rearrange songs all the time, so the fact that they couldn't work something out where all 6 girls sing during their attempt at a comeback in 2017 shows that the record label still doesn't respect them. What good is performing in an arena if the powers to be treat you like nothing? Melody spent 7 years doing that - she's over it. So good for her: she needs money, but she's not willing to put herself through that again just for a check.

Seeing this now makes me look at her differently, like I get it you wanted some leads, im sure all of them did HOWEVER those songs, BOTH PCD albums were actually nicoles albums...the first one was all her, written by her and others but they decided to use those songs for the first PCD album. The second one was actually what was supposed to be Nicoles solo debut album 'Her name is nicole' that eventually got shelved, so they used that material for the second album that obviously didnt include vocals from the rest, just thrown on in ways to make it convincing its a group album. As she has every right to be mad im sure nicole was heated too to have what was supposed to be HER albums turned into a groups album and sharing the coins.
Nah the second album was basically Nicole’s album. PCD actually had several songs where it wasn’t just Nicole singing, Hot Stuff, Tainted Love, Beep, I Don’t Need A Man. And it was four of them recording vocals (Nicole, Melody, Carmit and Kaya), and Melody is doing an ad-lib or lead on nearly every song. The second album, however, was literally made of Nicole’s rejected tracks from a cancelled solo album. The vast majority of the songs were just Nicole (less than half had Melody’s vocals - Takin over the World, Elevator, Watcha Thinkin Bout That). The only truly pussycat dolls song from that era was Top of the World where Jessica and Melody had leads/adlibs.
the first album was supposed to be the group album. it was the 2nd album that was suppose to be Nichole's solo album. Nichole claimed that she did the whole album by herself because she literally did.. The second album was supposed to be Nichole's Debut but they turned it into the groups album instead.

Melody has a very good voice. Every group needs to seperate to venture out and make what you can with what you have, including solo careers. Nicole tried and wasnt the big success she thought she would be. Melody should have returned, new music and a reunion could open the doors to new opportunities. Fully respect her decision but girl If it hasnt happened since youve guys have split, it ain’t happening now. Best of luck to her though.

Now that nicole has a say now that she have the right now for PCD, everyone will get to shine, because their management before didnt distribute the song fairly and i feel sorry for nicole because people blaming her having more lines and shine among them. But isnt it the PCD’s songs became popular because it was sang mainly by nicole with the girls?
To be fair, nicole is part of the x factor so she gets more attention and besides they're singing their old songs. We'll just wait for their new songs and see if other dolls will have singing lines.
Sad that at the end of 2017 all the Dolls were talking about a reunion - but now they're saying it's never gonna happen. Clearly the record label made it known that nothing will change and the format will always be Nicole being front and centre, so who can blame them for not wanting to go through that again. The group imploded because of it after all.

She’s just not a main vocalist. Her voice just isn’t right for a pop group nor is it something that people would wanna hear for an entire concert. It’s weird how she’s always said there’s nothing to go back to when it comes to the dolls since she really doesn’t have much now when it comes to her solo music career, she’s a huge flop. But I mean it’s really admirable how she continues to release music no matter how much it flops!

The situation is melody is basically saying at least one of the reasons she won't go back is because Nicole the lead singer doesn't talk to her BUT its melody's fault. Nicole has spoken about mel in interviews (ryan seacreast and wendy williams) saying that one member dissapointed her and she doesn't speak to her but its melody's faught. The originally design of the pcds from its burselques conception days were one or two or so singers fronting the group while many members dancing background.

I guess she’s doing it in her own terms and not being forced to do something else that she didn’t want to. I know she can dance even if she said she’s a terrible dancer but in all the PCD videos and performances she looked really good dancing but we don’t really know what kind of struggle someone is going through and if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, it will definitely be a whole lot worse. So, she is making perfect sense with what she said.

I respect her reasons but her bitterness with PCD in every interview is not amusing. Like, she almost always had to explain what joining PCD did to her negatively. The other girls have matured and moved on. She's a primadonna waiting to happen.

Indeed! She sounds ungrateful. I was wondering if she was given a chance to be the lead singer of the PCD before, will they receive the same recognition or their group be more popular? I guess not as she sounds awful and Nicole is way better than her. She should be mindful that without the group where she belonged, she won't receive that recognition or be known to many.

Melody was the best vocalist from the minute she went solo I knew she go far and ten years later she still doing it, Nicole's only agreed to it because her solo career flopped now she nothing but a second class judge on a crappy reality show. No I just don't like tarts who think strippers who think it's okay waltz on stage to kids selling sex fyi I never liked them 10 years ago I liked real music not one hit wonders trying to hard. It's one thing having spice girls they were same but least they kept there clothes on and they had strings of hits. What did they have one good album that mostly had covers of other peoples songs then a second which flopped dramatically. The sooner there yours done and over with there bye bye again like all the failed bands before them. The only time they actually sounded decent is when they disbanded, and there slips were shut closed.

All the girls were really good friends with each other except with Nicole because of her diva attitude. The broke also broke up because of Nicole! There is no reason for her to go back if she is going to do what she was hired to do. I’m happy for her!
