All of them requiring microphones for singing should have used hands-free, headset styles to allow them to use hands for dancing and gesturing. The mics in hand are distracting when they are shoved into their faces.
Carmit has that soulful rock type rasp in her voice while Kaya had that under developed Christina Aguilera tone but a little nasal at times. Melody also had that Christina tone but hers is more developed than Kaya's.
Imagine building a girl group with just the 4 of them. Nicole- Lead vocals Carmit - Secondary vocals Kaya - Third vocals/pre-chorus/bridges Melody- Chorus/bridges/ad-libs That would be a powerhouse group

Why didn't they keep the group like this from the beginning? Nicole as lead but all the others get their time to shine too. Yes Carmit sings. I love the tone of her voice. Adds a depth and another layer to the song. Very pleasing to listen to. The other girls can sing to Melody and Kaya

Robin stayed as their manager i think, Kasey & Cyia left to be more successful dancers, those two weren't singers anyways... And the Sway video is released in 2004...
Here's 5 little mistakes I found: 1:51 Jessica (second dancer on the right) stood up in late 2:16 Robin almost flipped 2:30 Kasey (blonde dancer on the right) lost her balance after the leg-up move 2:43 Melody started standing up a bit early, while Kaya was still singing 3:28 Kimberly was distracted by lip-syncing and stepped in front of Ashley and Jessica, while Robin and Cyia stepped behind them

There’s just something about Kaya and Carmit’s voices. They stood out more to me. Even Melody’s ad libs!

to be honest. Nicole, she wowed us of her vocals, but without the other singers (Carmit & Melody) it can't be more perfect.
