The term Iran derives directly from Middle Persian Ērān, first attested in a third-century inscription at Naqsh-e Rostam, with the accompanying Parthian inscription using the term Aryān, in reference to the Iranians.[41] The Middle Iranian ērān and aryān are oblique plural forms of gentilic nouns ēr- (Middle Persian) and ary- (Parthian), both deriving from Proto-Iranian language *arya- (meaning "Aryan", i.e. "of the Iranians"),[41][42] recognized as a derivative of Proto-Indo-European language *ar-yo-, meaning "one who assembles (skilfully)".[43] In the Iranian languages, the gentilic is attested as a self-identifier, included in ancient inscriptions and the literature of the Avesta,[44][d] and remains also in other Iranian ethnic names Alan (Ossetian: Ир Ir) and Iron (Ирон).

The really fascinating question about our history is what alien intelligences played what role in each of our landmark historical events. Aliens from the Abyss have told me personally they played a role in the war in Ukraine for example. It's a question for future generations. if it can even be answered but we know now it's real.
There is no comparing the ayatollah with the shah. The current regime has put the country in a complete economic crisis. One dollar equals 350000 rials (iran currency). The people have no freedom of speech, no freedom of clothes and no freedom of religion. Furthermore there is extreme suppression of opposition. The only reason they have been surviving for so long is because they have full control over OIL. They make huge amounts of capital(money) from OIL which some is used to hold the economy and the regime from collapsing and most of it is used for military purposes.
As an Iranian with a fair knowledge of history I can assure you that what he says about Reza Shah is WRONG! Please look for more reliable information. I am willing to talk to the content creator and let him know, why and how he's wrong. Let me know!
Strange that you can sub in Saudi Arabia for Iran in this video and come to the same conclusion. But no, they're too important, they're a US ally and loyal customer....for now
Right. Because they didn't blame every single thing on the US and Britain like an uneducated child on reddit would? I am so tired of people acting like the US is responsible for everything that has happened in Iran, it is such a simpleton take which assumes that one event now means a people are forever controlled by someone else. Does that mean the US gets the credit for anything they do right as well? Oh wait, your hypocrisy means you pick and choose, attributing the bad things to the US but the good things to Iranians. Basically, a grade school level argument. Topped off with the conspiracy of the CIA being behind a random UA-cam video, and it really paints a picture of your intellectual dearth.

God Bless Zoroastrian Persian Iran, God Bless Technologically, Industrially, Economically Developed IRAN, IRAN is the richest Country of Asian Continent!
Fun fact: Iran was never called "persia" it was always called Iran since the establishment of the first Iranian empire, the Achaemenid empire.
Called persia by Greeks and then other nations did the same but it was called Eran by iranian people since ancient times
Iran,beautiful Country.
Iran is my favorite country in West Asia, want to visit this country once!
If you do, Isfahan is the most beautiful city I've ever seen.
Great video thank you for making a video about my country
You're welcome. Good luck out there 🙂
It would have been better if the video actually was what it claims to be ... About Tehran, the city. This was a recap of the modern history of Iran, which i already knew
Very poggers see your megacities get the views they deserve, although more is needed!
if only those teenagers knew how much suffering Iran went through during the US backed Iraq invasion. 9 years of war and suffering. Tik-Tok generation can be very naive
love, from iran , land of cyrus the great
As a persian I can confirm Tehran is worse than Ohio 💀
It might be a nit pick, but Iran/Persia had plenty of universities in its past. Most famously would be gondishapur, but there were definitely more. That was all over 1500 years ago too!
you guys have to make more of these videos. I would like them to be longer and more in depth also. But only because I love the content. I want to see more!!!
Iran could have been a major player on the world stage if it weren’t under a brutal regime and Islamic extremist
Iran's soul is totally disconnected from our spirit for eternity.
What?
A BIG MISTAKE in this video: Shah did not "flee" but "left" Iran, because he was a gentleman and accepted what his people wanted back then. If he hadn't fled, first, nobody could have taken his power, and second, we wouldn't have been in such a MULLAH DISASTER right now. Shah fleeing is an Islamic Republic propaganda.
شاه مث سگ دَر رفت ، please don't say kossoshe'er 🙏
Great video about Iran, not Tehran.
DAROOD MUHAMMAD O ALAY MUHAMMAD I LOVE IRAN ITS REVOLUTION ITS FOOD ITS PEOPLE ABUTURAB SHAH FROM AMERICA
Everyday I pray for a true people's revolution in Iran, and don't let America get involved, that only makes matters worse. Iran needs a Lee Kuan Yew kind of guy (well, pretty much every country needs a guy like him)
Nice video thanks for the contribution ⛄📸
The Documentary was Titled “Tehran” and there’s literally less than 2 minutes of it regarding the City. Great Job 👏
This video is LESS about the city of Tehran, and more about the current crisis of Iran. I was here to learn about Tehran, but you didn’t cover that much about the city.

You need to change the title. You didn't even talk about the city, what kind of video this?
the gdp figure is wrong in 6:36 IMF uses the data the regime gives to them which has a fixed rate of the Iranian currency, in reality its around 213billiion gdp, the currency is not freely tradable due to sanctions , CIA datawebsite will be a better source pls correct that
When Mossadegh was ousted in '53, it was due in large part to the US, and specifically the Dulles brothers. This whole Islamic State thing was made in the USA.
Lots of Love to Iranian peoples and their government💚
*_The Medians & Achaemenids_* called their Empire as *Airyanām Xsaça*
*_The Parthians_* called their Empire as *Aryanxsathr/Aryanshahr*
*_The Sasanians_* called their Empire as *Êranshâhr*
and hitler called it nazism
Long Live Iran and its people and the great Pahlavi dynasty.
The really fascinating question about our history is what alien intelligences played what role in each of our landmark historical events. Aliens from the Abyss have told me personally they played a role in the war in Ukraine for example. It's a question for future generations. if it can even be answered but we know now it's real.
Tell me your mossad without telling me your mossad
Western propaganda everywhere
But no, they're too important, they're a US ally and loyal customer....for now
I smell the CIA and US state department script writers from mile away
Glad I’m not the only one
@@ElectronFieldPulse alright buddy we know you watch vaush now but nobody personally attacked you here relax.....
hes probably addressing the fact that the video did not mention khomeini was supported by france and c.i.a i assume?
@@shahramtondkarmobarakie1824 - Supported how? So many claims of "support" end up being trivial things which had no effect on anything
More of a one sided history lesson, your other videos were much better.. Btw, if avg mean temp has risen by 1.8deg in Iran, vs 1.2deg ROW, how is that 1.5x times higher? I am gonna cut some hair in protest lol
I love most of your videos but this one taught me nearly nothing about the city. I can appreciate that Iran has a lot to discuss politically, but I thought going into this video that it would be about a megacity. Love most of your content but this ain't it.
Thanks for the constructive feedback, Jack! Writing Buenos Aires now and it will definitely focus more on the MC 😉
@@TheDailyConversation Great vids overall and I agree with the original comment. The politics and history of Iran is still relevant but a larger portion of the video focusing on the city itself would make more sense for the title of the video :)
@@Wilkesy7 his take on politics is extremely biased and erroneous. I hope you will base your judgement on facts and not this video
I love your content! Thank you
Thank you Jacob!
I think that Asia is the paradise continent for dictators..
You should do a video on Bogota! its metro area is 10 mil +
Indeed it is, just became a MC this year I believe so coming soon! Buenos Aires next though.
TDC: "Tehran is the only megacity in the world's only significant theocracy
Riyadh and Jeddah: "Am I a joke to you?"
Saudi Arabia is Absolute Monarchy not Theocracy...unlike Iran where the supreme leader is a religious leader.Update your brain
@@islahbahrawi "update your brain" says the guy called "anime shorts" lecturing me about geopolitics. Tell me are you a resident of the Virgin Islands
Religion should be personal not Public.

Hundreds in jail? More like 20,000 in just a couple months. Not to mention the war happening in the Kurdistan regions
You lost me when you mentioned climate change. The main reason for every problem humans have face in the 5000 year old written history😂
TDC, Danke für dieser Excelente Video, der sollte in die Schule von USA _ CANADA :

Wenn Islamische Republik weggeht , kann es möglich sein.
Leider ist Iran jetzt ein Gefängnis mit Islamischer Republik 😢
How are you calling Iran the only significant theocracy when Saudi Arabia exists lmao
Who are you to talk? You are an arab from peninsula below Persian gulf.
You betrayed yourself and your propoganda work by the way you pronounce Tehran.
Appreciate the coverage and support against the current regime but not the badmouthing of the Shah 👎. We lived through the Shah's era in a poor town, and we revered him. GOD BLESS HIM.
He is Just spitting facts about ur god Shah ligma
Definitely one of my favourite channels
Thanks Roberto!
I HOPE WHAT HAPPENED TO LIBYA WILL NOT HAPPEN TO IRAN, IMAGINE A PEACEFULL REVOLUTION THAT WOULD CHANGE THE REGIME IN IRAN, THE PROGRESS THAT IT WILL BRING NOT ONLY TO IRAN ITSELF BUT THE WORLD BECAUSE OF ITS RICH RESOURCES.
All the US $$$$$$$ and aid to the Middle East, I see no improvement for the people there. As a matter of fact the US isn’t doing too great either.
You didn't mention that one reason their GDP is fairly low despite the oil wealth is the stiff American sanctions on Iran.
and why US sanctioned us? because of the bad policies of Islamic Republic that are more beneficial to Palestinians and Lebanese rather than its own people.
The regime should fall. We dont want to rule us anymore. U don't even know how we live here. We are just living out life, our life is completely controlled by this mullah, they can interfere in our life anytime and anywhere
Why would he? He is western himself obviously he will censor his allies
Who else saw the alien 👽
Propaganda in your video
thanks for your true information
