In Italian language there are a lot of things named after Persia. Beyond the obvious Persian cats, window blinds are called “persiane”, while peach (the fruit) was called “persica” in ancient Latin. In modern standard Italian it has become “pesca”, but in Roman dialect the old Latin term is still alive and kicking. Oh, one last thing, the Gulf is called Golfo PERSICO, not Arabico, by us too :)

@akmelot shli No, Actually the word's etymology is like this: The word originated from Sanskrit word for River Indus which is "Sindhu", but most of west Indian languages and Persian languages dropped the "S" so Sindhu became "Hindu" and the people on the other side of Sindhu became "Hindus" so that's actually a Persian exonym for India and then the language of Hindu became known as Hindi or Hindustani.

I visited Iran last year, March of 2017. It’s an amazing experience, I loved it so much that I would LOVE to go there again. People are so friendly and there’s a lot to see at a very reasonable cost 💕💕💕 thanks to very generous people of Tehran, Isfahan and of course Shiraz🙏🏼🙏🏼

First of all any part of India has to be addressed as Indian. Second of all, India - Persia relations dates way before the rise of Islam, going back to Indus Valley Civilization. Third, state of Maharashtra and to an extent Gujarat has most number of Parsis and Iranis (the original Persian people) and they have certainly influenced many aspects of life including food. And we here observe and celebrate Navroz and Pateti with just as vigour as any other festive day. Fourth, I only mentioned food because its more universal and binding but apart from that even language has been influential. Many of the hindi words have farsi roots and vice versa. It predates modern history. India and Persia have had cultural ties for hundreds of years now. Its good to acknowledge that.

As an Iranian-Azeri, only the policy of our government is incorrect and no people from Iran hate other countries and this video was the most complete video I had seen about my country and even many of the things that were said I did not know were really very useful.

Im a white guy with persian friends. Can attest they are the most fun people. Went to a Persian wedding and the sword dance was one if the coolest things i’ve seen and they have a lust for life and celebration. In my experience, persians have a romanticism about their personalities. When they listen they listen hard, and ask appropriate questions at the right time showing genuine interest. At the same time they are very insightful. They are in touch with the world around them and their feelings they are happy to share. They are also loyal to their culture and are always happy to share traditions with outsiders. This is all anecdotal based on my relationships of course, but my friends parents are still in iran. They have an appreciation for the USA more than anyone else i know.

The word originated from Sanskrit word for River Indus which is "Sindhu", but most of west Indian languages and Persian languages dropped the "S" so Sindhu became "Hindu" and the people on the other side of Sindhu became "Hindus" so that's actually a Persian exonym for India and then the language of Hindu became known as Hindi or Hindustani.
Also persian and sanskrit are related languages. Both Indoarians❤

First of all any part of India has to be addressed as Indian.
Second of all, India - Persia relations dates way before the rise of Islam, going back to Indus Valley Civilization.
Third, state of Maharashtra and to an extent Gujarat has most number of Parsis and Iranis (the original Persian people) and they have certainly influenced many aspects of life including food. And we here observe and celebrate Navroz and Pateti with just as vigour as any other festive day.
Fourth, I only mentioned food because its more universal and binding but apart from that even language has been influential. Many of the hindi words have farsi roots and vice versa. It predates modern history.
India and Persia have had cultural ties for hundreds of years now. Its good to acknowledge that.

The last time I was there I was a child and it was beautiful and amazing and my heart aches so badly to return, however due to the U.S.'s laws as well as Iran's, iranian-american dual citizens are not in a great position. also as a female I would need an iranian male family member to allow me to leave the country and i am entirely estranged from my father. also my ENTIRE family in Iran (at least the ones i know and that know me) are women (and their husbands, who have never met me) sooo yeah :(

Im a white guy with persian friends. Can attest they are the most fun people. Went to a Persian wedding and the sword dance was one if the coolest things i’ve seen and they have a lust for life and celebration. In my experience, persians have a romanticism about their personalities. When they listen they listen hard, and ask appropriate questions at the right time showing genuine interest. At the same time they are very insightful. They are in touch with the world around them and their feelings they are happy to share. They are also loyal to their culture and are always happy to share traditions with outsiders. This is all anecdotal based on my relationships of course, but my friends parents are still in iran. They have an appreciation for the USA more than anyone else i know.
