You forgot... they need to nerf this 😂
This is a real "Teach them how to fish" moment.
You will be punishers of men

I know these don’t get as much attention as other videos, but these are really helpful for those that want to step away from mashing buttons. Much appreciated, take care.
Thanks for watching man
Some great advice this is how I think of the game but for me its like "holy shit I've never seen that move before" welp.. "Time to learn how to punish it."
Omg majin is a scientist!!
Also majin were you controlling paul
I can't believe Murray tried to show you up by reducing the Phoenix Smasher pushback. But you overcame. Try again devs! You can't stop this man!
I find strings re-aligning and so many later moves in strings bring CH launchers to be the most frustrating aspect of Tekken, personally. The scientific method approach really helps give a mental visualization. Thanks for this
By using essentially this same method I found that learning how to deal with strings, even ones I’ve never seen before, get much easier overtime, and that’s because you’ll start going through that checklist during matches.
You’ll start automatically thinking to yourself “Huh that string looks like a Mid, High, Mid, so if I can’t punish it I’ll try to duck it” and whether it works or not, it’ll be a sign that your understanding of strings has improved significantly. It makes the journey of Tekken very enjoyable
Bro…. this was so insightful! Especially the character specific punish bits. I haven’t seen anyone else go into to detail like this regarding punishes.
Thanks for watching
This is actually something that i always say about fighting games to people that are beginners, which is, fighting games are kind of a thinking man's game, you have to be always asking questions to try to find solutions to problems on the fly, thats what makes engaging, having a scientific method moves you toward the right mentality to have fun playing this genre
Not the low tier god title 💀💀💀
Tekken is a 10000 piece puzzle that you need to solve one piece at a time
I was trying to explain some Tekken mechanics to my mom the other day, I think this video will help her a lot, thanks.
tell your mom i said whats up
you can also take this method into matches. don't be passive. understand your fundamental options and test them if you see someone really abusing a certain string/move.
Tekken Science with Professor Obama, the true Murray's Vision
"this course has a lab attached to it"...speaking fire rn. Love your vids as a new tekken player. subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
I really appreciate how you show the method rather than the answers. A lot of other tekken videos I've watched throw a lot of information and answers at me that don't really stick with me in game. Tekken 8 is the 1st FG where I've actually used features like punishment and replays to actively learn while playing. I find it much more valuable and fun than watching an hour long guide on what moves i should use against x character. thanks
my biggest pet peeve with tekken content is when it will be some shit like "beginner guide" and the thing is 1 hour long lol
Thanks Obama. Been enjoying punishment training + battling against downloaded ghosts. Trying to stay disciplined by heading to the lab after every defeat. I applaud 8 for making the process more enjoyable/productive, especially for someone like me who has always had more trouble with Tekken vs other 3D fighters.
Everyone here might know this by now but for anyone who is interested, the little bit of music at the end is from the soundtrack of the SNES game TMNT: Turtles in Time. It's from the Neon Night Riders level.
Been wondering forever now haha
Amazing tutorial! Watched your other videos. You and PhiDX are excellent at breaking this topics down. Dude, you really have a gift for teaching. Well done!
Much appreciated! Thanks again man. Phidx diaphone and Brian F been killing it!
Like a true hero, Obama out here showing us how to defeat Jiyuna's Paul. Thanks!
Sir I'm joining next week. My mind has been sharpened beyond mere emotional battles. I have chrons disease where if I showed any amount of aggression or anger my gut would literally become inflamed and cause TRAGIC PAIN. I had to learn to control myself and my emotions long ago. Can't wait to join !
All of your Tekken 8 vids have helped a lot. Thanks for the clear explanations
Thanks for watchin
Man this gives me a lot of nostalgia when i spent so much time in the practice mode in tekken 3 to learn different moves and countermoves for all characters
Great great video! I wish there was a video like this for when I started out in tekken with 7
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, and I love how this game also encourages this with replay takeover. It still doesn't tell you every solution, especially sidesteps, but so many barely punishable things have become obvious to me through that and I can't thank it enough. It truly is a feature that benefits tekken so much.
Glad you enjoyed!
New to tekken. Yo vids help noobs the most appreciate your work brother
Thanks for watchin
hey. first tekken, coming from basically a lifetime mkx/dbfz player. excited to be starting, even bought a leverless controller. not important.
a quick google search revealed you've got quite a bit of accolades under your belt. a player that's done as much as you, honestly has no business creating beginner tekken vids.
but thank you for doing it. really appreciate it. insight you're giving is insane. i haven't had to actually learn a game (or controller) again in years. you're definitely making the process smoother. eventually i'll offer what you do in fighting games. thanks again.
Trouble shooting has been a really big deal to my growth in this game. This will help me even more as I didnt have an exact flow chart to check off, it was just intuition. Thanks bro!
Intermediate player here, this is my biggest hurdle. Everyone knows their character, and the game mostly comes down to who can run their offense. Learning one character in Tekken takes hundreds of hours... and then to play defense you find out you need to learn 31 others. Thanks for the guide, this is exactly what mid level players like myself need. I really appreciate the acknowledgement that not getting blown up isn't as simple as "just block/sidestep bro"
What a nice approach, help me a lot with my mental analisys of the situation
love the content coming out! looking forward to link these to new players
What sucks is without deathmatching it becomes way harder to adapt to someone's bullshit during a set.
Game 1 you get blown up
Game 2 you are trying to figure out what to do
There is no game 3-4-5-6-7-etc
Makes it so much more frustrating man
As i scour the internet on how to not get gatekept in Garyu, I run across this little gem here. Amazing vid Majin
thanks for watching
First game after this video was a DJ lol, I dedicate this win to you
get it in
You are like Universiry Professor of Tekkan. Thanks for the video
My pleasure
PERFECT sayyng! 4:35 been playing tekken on and off for 3 years, and im barely getting the hang of it, meanwhile i was able to hit higher ranks on MK and SF just from some studying and patience.
these are real bangers to me starting out with azucena thanks Obama!
You mean if I want to get better I have to practice, get my butt kicked and learn!?!? Nah I think I’ll just plug when I’m about to lose 😒🤦♂️
Damn thanks for that. I didn't know azucena had that move
That LowTierGod reference in the title is the best.
lets agree to disagree lol
I've been doing this mostly live during my matches. I've gotten the farthest I've ever gotten in Tekken and now i'm a Mighty Ruler!
woooow! bro ... I just got Tekken 8 a couple days ago. This is my first fighting game. I'm blown away with how deep this game goes.
Before playing Tekken, I did not understand how much skill goes in to this. I use to think all fighting games were just basically beat em up games. But it's actually a puzzle game in disguise. So beautiful.
Quick question. For anyone here in the community, I decided to stop learning combos. I felt like learning more about how defense and angles work in this game seemed to be a better use of my time. And low key, I've been having more success. Even against players that spam their special style bullshit. After watching this video, I think need to start implementing punishing moves to my training. Do ya'll think this is a good road map? Is there anything else you'd suggest that I add to my training?
For a second I thought "Learn Spanish" was written right next to Azucena in the thumbnail lmao.
I realized you can duck Lili's heat smash first 3 hits and launch before the 4th. Good luck doing that dumb shit in the neutral again.
Very helpful thank you
Really great video dude, super helpful.
Glad to hear it!
You be a great highschool/college prof this video is great!
The Tekken-tific method!
this was amazing
great video man!
Bro thats so helpful, insta sub! ❤
Glad it helped!
Thanks Majin Obama!
Right on brother 🙏
Bomb ass content
banger analogy
so what you're saying its not a casual friendly game and unless i have the time to commit to the lab. Its probably not the type of fighting game to play casually
great video helped me beat the crap out off yoshimitsu and king.
thank you sir
Oh my GOD, WOW
I just got to garyu. It's nothing but strings into ch when i press a button
Very good vid, thanks
Glad you liked it!
@@doogies as a Tekken scrub aspiring to become a Tekken player , I appreciate your efforts to pedagogize the subject 👍
It Is impossible to study all 100 strings for 32 characters!!!
question, how do you deal with a masher who picks alisa whos moves you rarely see and aren't familiar with and you rarely see the same moves twice in a round?
training mode -> set dummy to alisa -> practice against moves you are losing to
the whole point is using the game modes to CREATE familiarity and simulate real matches
@@doogies so training mode and record all the actions to a bunch of button mashing? because honestly there isn't a move i'm not falling prey to because they all come out randomly and i have zero familiarity how fast or slow anything is or what they do and there isn't really any big strings they do consistently because it's just all just button mashing, well alright i'll try giving it a go.
Even if it is '' button mashing'' you need to be able to identify attacks when they are minus and it's your turn to attack. Powercrush more.
@@BoomtetrisforJeff well alisa is a bit of a special case, her attacks aren't telegraphed as normal punches and kicks which is why i struggle, in a way she's similar to bob which just looks like a spinning ball to me.
so identifying and categorizing the attacks is just very difficult, the only read i've managed so far is that when chainsaws are out and she manages to hit me on block or otherwise she's plus after meaning i could try and duck or sidestep after but because she's so agile a back dash won't do much but let her keep attacking.
but i will try this sidestep blocking thing because they are throwing out strings and if i can manage to identify which attacks i can sidestep it will go a long way.
Thanks!
Wow! Thanks so much man!

Cyantific method for tekken
