This was actually solid and straight forward. I'm at Bushin with Paul and Lidia, and I'm struggling to reach Tekken god, but stuff like this makes you realize that sometimes you need to keep things simple, so thanks.
Immediately utilized the "jab, move, launch"/"make sure you move" with Steve, and crazy how many people whiff with just the slightest bit of movement. ESPECIALLY after heat engage. Added to the bag
So I agree with everything except I would say for punishment training look up a player usage chart and start punishment training with that list so you are practicing against common characters. Fantastic video
I agree. Just randomly fishing for punishment of moves that are aren't even commonly used isn't a good usage of time imo. But if you have a chart or something in front of you that guides you into what to punish train for is a lot better usage of time.
@@saviormonroe-lh7oh that’s the issue with all these content creators that make a for example “anti feng video” and then just go through the entire move list. I know it takes forever but I think it’s lazy and doesn’t really help anyone. If they are going to make anti character videos they need to do the research to learn what’s actually getting people
the replays in this game are so useful, many a time when I get cooked online and I immediately go into the replay and see what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future
Bait the homing move and counter it. Some homing moves are highs so jab don’t move instead duck and launch. If it’s a mid block and punish. If not punishable take your turn again.
@@exiledhebrew1994 it does matter. The point of sidestep block is you cancel the sidestep movement quickly by blocking (effectively avoiding a linear poke and a tracking mid at the same time). In neutral this is a good defensive tool. The only time ss block isn't that good is when you're -5 or worse in frame advantage, since you won't have time to step and evade anything.
This might be the best video on Tekken I’ve seen in a while.. Every single tip here I am going to incorporate into my gameplay.. I already check replays but everything else is so valuable. The side step portion I never do, but when it’s done to me I get smoked. More real videos like this!!
You know that I am very appreciative of your efforts on this matter. You keep it real, clear and concise with what you want to inform about and no fluff or sugar coating. Coverd in 5 mins....I will be glad to like and subscribe and aswell share your videos with others.
Because my reaction time is so bad. My punishment time is bad. Even some moves that require timing don’t work because of my old ass mind. That initial jab punishment training is genius tho. Better than mindlessly trying to sidestep individual moves of each character. Everyone jabs and is universally thrown out sometimes when they get pressured. There are characters with parries, but knowing how to sidestep is definitely an essential factor. Maybe I’ll try this when I go back. Though I’m gonna have to go through my main’s move list again because new updates made me forget lots of stuff.
I got some homies I run with and I genuinely cannot tell you how many rounds I’ve won because we’re both low health, they pop heat, thinking it gives them a huge advantage, and I immediately jab them out or ws4 if they hit me. People don’t realize they’re not that + when they activate heat
3:14 I have a better idea while waiting for a match in quick or ranked I set the dummy to ultra hard CPU and just spare play defensively against him. You can change the CPU that you struggle against.
You can step block or you use that knowledge to counter back. They want to check you for stepping, so now they have to commit to a slower move/high. So you use that knowledge to decide on how you want to interact in similar situations.
And it works until your ss start eating noob Lars's u3 or Feng's b1+2. 😅 Then you learn how to ss block with smaller and smaller steps. After that, you learn staring contest where you hit and just stand there 😝
The answer is heat at the start .trash game what did you do to get a Super round 1 ?! Pick a character .trash mechanic. at least you had to build a V trigger in sfv . Not just that everything harada said about the game is turning out to be a lie 😅 garbage not worth the lowered price
Finally i don't need to watch a 2 hour movie for a Tekken guide

Sadly with Steve we only get a 1,2,3 or 2,1, 2,2, or a Sonic Fang. 😓😂 no launch for us on jab whiff.
@@ThePS3Freak23try b2 into sonic fang
That's the point of playing Steve lmao, back then he got a b2 launcher though.@@ThePS3Freak23

Helpful advice and quick video straight to the point
the replays in this game are so useful, many a time when I get cooked online and I immediately go into the replay and see what went wrong and how to avoid it in the future
Step instead of backdashing > get spammed by antistep moves > get cooked
You need to practice sidestep > block. You don't have to go through the entire side step animation.
Bait the homing move and counter it. Some homing moves are highs so jab don’t move instead duck and launch. If it’s a mid block and punish. If not punishable take your turn again.
now they have to worry about losing their turn for banking on you stepping. it adds layers. makes it more fun
@@pointlessaccount100that doesn’t matter; it only takes a fraction of a second to get hit. And some moves have good tracking like Bryan 1+2

Such a simple and effective guide that applies to all characters, thanks for this!
30 seconds in and I've already got a new training tool. Insane turn around time here. Easy sub
Thx for the tough love, I needed too hear this.
The most straight to the point Tekken guide I have come across. Honestly great stuff, I will continue to refer to this video!

this is one of if not the most helpful tekken vids I've seen period
Lidia looks super glad and happy in the thumbnail !
Good for her
bro! people do this to me and i know they are better and i lose. I've watched alot of content and havent learned this yet, ty!
Great video! Clear and easy to understand. I know I don’t side step enough especially coming from MK11 and SF6
Love the guide, and I don’t practice at all outside of just learning mid fight but what you said is exactly how I finally made it Raijin.
This guy knows how to make a no bs video
I Love this, Thank you for the direct approach! Good Luck to everyone on the grind! 💥💯
Great tip, I never use that punishment feature in practice. Subbed if you got more tips.
Straight up heat from the first minute. Subbed
PLEASE just sidestep is what i got from this bad boy.
I rarely like a video and this deserves one, this is super good! I will definitely recommend this to friends of mine! Thanks man! ❤

Way better than Phidx, tricky and arrogant Sajam. We need more videos like this.
You saved my life thank you 🙏🙏❤❤❤
Thanks, man. I'm tired of washing scrubs in this game. I want a challenge.

Legendary 5-minute get better video.
What's the frame data for side step? Like is it only moves that are -3 or higher that you can side stepable?
side step is about 4 frames if i remember correctly
@@natednm thank you so much.
I can’t disagree
What annoys me us hitboxes on some linear moves like kazuyas demon paw still being able to connect either way i sidestep. Shit gets irritating af
That's big bro thanks
The problem with replays is they only give you hints when you don’t get just straight up hit, which is usually my issue
You can take control of your character at any point during the replay and try out whatever moves/movement you want
Very nice brother ❤

Hey man i think you are very good player plz teach me Jin kazama im losing from kids
From what I've seen, most people don't use the practice mode to train and wonder why they can't move up in the game. Sad.

What if they use a tracking move
tracking moves are usually slower than or high so you duck it or interrupt it. MIND GAMES BABY

Nah this is hard, they always block when I try and ss ewgf 😭ss df1,4 works well tho
And it works until your ss start eating noob Lars's u3 or Feng's b1+2. 😅
Then you learn how to ss block with smaller and smaller steps.
