Halloween, 1989 in Richmond, Maine, a town predominantly of Russian immigrants. 4 teenage boys, Alex, Baron, Anatol and Nikolai aged 16 to 17 years old had plans for the night but that all changed when they stumbled into a place they should’ve never entered.
Scary/Horror stories claiming to be real by the people who lived them and told them. Real or not? You decide. For legal reasons all stories have been declared as fictitious. These teens were not nice kids. Snatching smaller children's candy, stealing from the gas station, and then Anatol kidnapping a child, not nice at all. (Aside from the mean teenagers, always a great story.)
They were delinquent bastard teenagers! Stealing little kids candy and kidnapping a child... they sound like trash.
Most teens underage drink beer, at least my friends used to throw a $20 at the cashier while running out with the beer, so we never stole!

Drekavac, the Screaming One, my great-grandparents used to call it. In our area, it's supposed to be canine/humanoid and stands on it's hind legs.......similar to a skin walker. I was telling a Navajo friend of mine about it and she said it sounded just like a skin walker.

Question: are you Russian or of Russian decent, and if so, were your great-grand parents from Russia and does the Drekavac originate from Russia?
If it's like a skin walker or it is, I'm curious to know if these entities are in other places around the world and curious to know how they got there..

im from somerset county maine, i was 18 in 1989 this story is wild. there is soooo msny tales like this and more around this state and places you should never tred alone or after dark
I currently live In Somerset County have now for last 29years from OOB.Some of the most unusual things I have heard and Seen since I was 5yrs old.
You should hear the coyote packs at night its insane. I had never heard them till I moved to Canaan Maine. I called my father next door at age 19yrs old frightened and freaking out I was sure A woman was being murdered.

I was trick-or-treating two towns south of Richmond that night! 😊
The Shiloh church in Durham Maine was where we would dare each other to go when we were teens. (Not far from the house where Stephen King grew up)
This was before trick or treat became a daytime activity. Ugh these kids will never understand the excitement of Halloween the way we did

In a way they had it coming taking candies from inocent children and go as far to kidnap a boy,whom they never heard from him again,in the other hand it was a great spooky story,love your tales

I agree. These teenagers were not nice. Taking candy from the little children, then stealing from the gas station, and then kidnapping a boy. Not very nice at all. The narrator mentioned early in the story that they were not malicious. Well, tell that to the little children whose Halloween you ruined. I'm rambling, but I never liked bullies.

I stole a kids bucket of candy once. I ran to my very unusual car in a pretty small town and the kids mom came to my house and confronted me.

I hate those computer generated narrators. I may as well listen to my voicemail prompt if I want to hear that. I will only listen to human narrators.

I have no idea of what you're name is or really how to address you......but I'm going to be totally honest with you, this has to be the best story I have ever heard, I'm sixty three years old and have always been into strange and spooky tails , so as you can guess I've heard a hell of a lot of stories.

Just realize it's a story. I live in Richmond, Maine and no one who attended high school in 1989 remembers any boys with these names in the school or a story like this going around. And it's not like it's a large high school. We're talking about a town of 3,000 people with a high school of less than 200 kids. Everyone knows everyone else's business. The description says names and locations have been changed, and that for legal reasons all stories are declared to be fictitious.
Ive lived in Richmond my entire life..and I've never heard this story...but I did know an anatol (passed) but he was close to 80 so he would have been 16-17 in the late 50s early 60s... The 1989 timeframe might be the biggest issue here.
YOUR'RE A GREAT STORYTELLER. THIS IS A GREAT SCARY CHANNEL. BUT I WISH MORE STORIES WOULD COME MORE OFTEN. THESE 4 GUYS WERE NOT NICE. I DIDN'T LIKE THE STEALING OF THE KIDS CANDY BASKETS. AND THE THEFT OF THE LITTLE KID. NONE OF THE 4 GUYS SHOULD HAVE SURVIVED IN MY OPINION. BUT AS ALWAYS GREAT STORY.

I lived in Central Maine and have been to Richmond several times. When driving through nearby Dresden, Maine there’s a cool old sign that says ‘The Slavophile Society’. It was still there when I last visited years ago.
