It is probably because it is a simulation like Armored Core 4. So it is most likely using an AI, which would explain why pilots are still there even though you killed them in some missions.
Rue Ryuzaki no, they pilot the suits, it's just that they either use blanks or training rounds (though this theory is crap when you take energy weapons and assault armour into the equation) or it's just a simulation, sort of like a pair of knights duelling, their fighting for real, they just don't aim to kill. This is white glint aiming to kill, going all out and even using an assault armour.
@@Courier-gq6ym Anatolia's mercenary is completely off the corperate grid and all of them want him dead - it's why his AC looks so raggy and run down and has its repairs being made out in the middle of nowhere in the intro, because he's with the rebels. it makes no sense for him to show up to a jousting match. It would be like if in the middle of the crusades the pope wanted to hold a jousting tournament and wanted to invite the sultan of arabia's sons to participate. Maybe before the LYNX war, that kind of stuff happened. But during the time of For Answer? Definitely not. The one you fight in arena mode is just an AI, iirc it even says it in his description, and they are all supposed to be simulation battles. -that's my understanding, anyways. therealbahamut I actually have a copy of ACV, and currently, I'm enjoying it (Beat the story missions, just wrapping up the Order Missions. Stupid Zodiac ACs **grumble grumble**), buts thats mainly because my first outing with 4/4A was what can only be described as trainwreck.... at the age I got it at, it was WAY too fast for me to handle, particularly when the combat was a NEXT vs NEXT battle.... (Couldn't even make it past Amazigh/Barboroi....) Now that I'm older (and finishing ACV), I'm planning to go and track down copies of AC4/AC4A and see what I missed out on.....
I just got a sour impression of ACV very quickly after having played so many previous installments. It feels like a complete reboot where they threw out several key elements. Booster flight is limited, the wall jumping thing is...wonky to me, the whole 'scan mode' feature feels awkward and unnecessary (to say nothing of "Energy below 30%" going off every few seconds--that's grating, at best) and in general, the game just doesn't feel right.
+therealbahamut Exactly what I thought! I've been a fan of the Ac series (and own every game, Japanese versions) since the original came out in 1996, and I thought ACV was unimpressive. IMO 4 and 4Answer were the two best in the series overall.
Yeah, when I stepped back to look at the game after playing it for a bit, I gathered that much; it was supposed to be a much more "mortal" approach. Didn't change the fact that it just felt clunky; there's just no better word for how it felt to me, even compared to AC1. Maybe they could've used a different approach to accomplish the same thing? Who knows...
Hm. Never played Chromehounds; maybe there's some context there. It's a fair point to say several kinds of builds in the AC series were never very viable; I just think maybe there was a different way to change that. Quick boosting, for example, was way too effective and/or way too cheap on your energy reserves, leaving tank builds in the dust for no appreciable tradeoff. Should've cost a fair bit more energy or come with more consequences to keep it in line, IMHO. There also just wasn't that much durability gained from heavier builds in the end, hence the light dual bladers reigned supreme. In the end, though, the game came down to your ability to duel with other AC's, and a very small fraction of potential builds were able to do that; treaded AC's were simply not among them. It needed more reasons to want a treaded tank build beyond just (DEF vs speed.) ACV kinda does that, I guess, but I kinda feel like there's Mechwarrior games if we want slower, clunkier, more technical machines...
I played this game years before even knowing that there is an actual AC4 (thought this was the 4th part because of that title play). The games aren't that well known where I live so for the most part I stumbled upon them by chance. Still White Glint felt special, even without knowing what happened before.
When I hearing this mission briefing for first time.. i just notice something off about this white NEXT... thats he was on rank 9 and too OP. The number "9" for AC vets means "something that obviously dangerous"... Even this universe are total different with others, but experience never gone different
I usually fight alongside White Glint against Otsdarva and CUBE instead. It's much more satisfying to help Anatolia's Mercenary than kill him, and Line Ark are the closest thing the game has to good guys.
I got a good hang on the game, have 3 mech set ups and I did all the trained arena matches up to White Glint with all 3 set ups, and none worked. I tried for like 4 hours to reload saves and spend all my money on making faster-than-fast NEXTs, then tried making a sniper, none worked, and sure enough the Quad-legged Rail guns worked wonders. :)
This game NEEDS to be remastered, I didn't know about AC before the new AC6 but this game is amazing and i really want to play this, but not on the ps3. I did try putting it in an emulator but the audio and textures didn't work, it was also at that point I discovered how slow and clunky the camera felt. If they remastered the game with a better camera and controls i'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Yeah the camera controls are god awful compared to ac6, but I think thats one of the reasons why its so hard. I believe it was a purposeful choice to have the camera be awful, but if they remaster it they should have a classic controls option and an ac6 controls mode.
Huh, I always go for speed on S ranks. Didn't even know you could S that slow... I used double kojima cannon shoulders and dual minigun in hands. Overboost, ram with the dual kojimas and then relentlessly hammer down with the miniguns now that he lost his shields. I remember needing to make that mission like a hundred times to get it right. (T'was kind of my default setup, either that or double spike fists) In the end, It would last roughly a minute... It was kinda hilarious to have Rank 1 just... sink nearly at mission start.
I know the miniguns are pretty good, but I'm a massive fan of the Machine Gun weapon arms. Even if their defensive stats are kind of crap, they pack a good punch, and I can use a chain gun in the back. Grinds NEXTs like paper.
Yeah when I was playing this mission....I was doing so bad, it got to the point where I decided to switch regulations to inf energy and started dashing and attacking with dual laser blades.
Used the Rayleonard ac with an OMER light generator, dragon slayer sword, ALGEBRA rifle, as back missiles and ac shoulders. Used most of my missiles while blasting with the rifle. White glint got close and used the burst against me but I boosted away. Turned around and got em twice with my sword while their AP was down and wrecked em. Super satisfying to slash White Glint to death. Lol
this makes me wonder what it would look like if fromsoft worked with project aces to make a new ace combat game. definitely not something i see happening really ever though but fun to think on
I got stuck at the walking missile platform for 15 failures, almost beating it on one of the attempts but ran out of ammo. Complete rage. So I duplicated my brother's file, renamed it, and just did vs mode with all the parts.
Im so mad at how game preservation is in modern day. These awesome games that had 50x more effort and 50x less budget are so hard to find and I just want to play all armored core games legally 😭
For Answer has very average missions. Would prefer 4 all das long. And this video is so bad an outdated. I wish UA-cam would promote all my other Defeat White Glint videos alot more. 😕
I beat this fight with one or two shots from my primary weapon. There's a primary weapon in the game that's called a spread shot bazooka if you can get close to White glint and Fire Two Shots close range it's game over. The weapon is rather heavy so you have to make a machine as pretty agile to use it
Gotta get the CPU paste replaced in my 360 so I can play all this again, these videos are both nostalgic and reminds me that this game really has a different level of challenge.
I always loved how White Glint’s pilot is your old character from AC4. It’s a shame you have to kill him. Two points I want to add on to this: 1) This game has some really fun boss fights. 2) This game looks so much better than AC5.
Absolutely. I play more to make all kinds of interesting builds, but if any of you play on PS3, hit me up. Might get AC4 and FA again for 360 some other time.
i remember playing armored core in ps3 demo at best buy, it stuck with me ever since, but i couldn't play any because i didn't have ps3, years later i got pc and tried ps3 emulator but my pc was too weak and had issues, years later AC6 came out, i beat it 3 times (ng+, ng++, total 70 hours) and had an absolute blast, looking forward to more AC

Then why did ACVD die out? Maybe not everyone prefers the new combat system over old combat system. ACVD only last about a month before dying out that's pretty fast if not 3 months still pretty fast. While ACFA didn't out like ACVD last for a year(more one year)before dying out. Like I said maybe they shouldn't change it and go back their roots or come up solution that spice to the game. I respect your opinion but when you compare the community both of them see the difference such as how active and long they lasted before dying out ACFA definitely succeeds at that.
Its a heavy Quadleg. And this build is garbage. Just Something that looked cool for a video. I mean I used light latona arms with two heavy arm gatlings haha.
Otsdarva is useless in terms of firepower. And yeah this is not the best fight I had against White Glint. I made new videos against him with better fights.

the only armored core i beat was number 4. and now anatolias mercenary is dead...he was the pilot of White Glint i know it. they killed the only protagonist that made me get interested in the series! hate when they do that...like what happened with Alex Mercer and prototype.
Technically...Prototype was suppose to be a villian perspective gameplay, So most characters who have dealt alot of sinful actions in the pasts kinda deserved to be killed off....It's a justifiable reason for them to do it... Alex Mercer in Prototype two...wasn't exactly the same mercer you played as in the first....In a way of sense....his whole character has been dead since the ending of Prototype...the alex mercer you see now is a undying regenerative parasite that mimic mercers inner desires before he died. same with what they dead to Revan in The old republic....it's revan alright...but not the revan we all played as...just reborn. Besides. Canonically speaking in all three endings, The pilot of white glint never died....files reported that the Raven was simply 'defeated' or 'disabled.' the narrator never placed a remark of him being dead.
+Jose Acosta He may not be dead. Fiona doesn't react much to his defeat, so its possible that he survived and they just left Line Ark to do their own thing.
my first AC game was 6 and i remember someone saying in mp that they loved 4 but they couldnt see jack in the game, i can barely see what they mean now.
In the first story path, yes, White Glint is your enemy during this mission. However, upon completing the story for the first time, you can play again, and the other two paths are unlocked... including the option to fight alongside White Glint against Otsdarva and CUBE.
Guys can someone help me? There was a video of a guy doing this mission on hard but only using a sword, where can i find it? (Not to dimisnish the accomplishment of the gentleman doing this video).
Technically, he never could. Order match rank doesn't mean anything. The League (or corporations who survived 4 and new ones) used Order matches (they included Line Ark) to sort who had the best pilots, they are bragging rights. The setting at the start of the game is similar to 4. The League isn't trying to destroy each other outright, but rather, talking smack to each other via NEXTs. Everyone is arguing about the cradles, the future of humanity, and outer space. Line Ark is against the League, the League teams up and attacks Line Ark to break them through military force instead of peace talks (literally the 1st mission). Given that, the Order Matches are pointless for White Glint, because he is too busy trying to protect Line Ark and fighting off the League, since they're actually at war now. That's why he's stuck at #9 in rank (though also a callback to Nine-Ball). However, the other corporations were free to continue "play fighting" in Order Matches, and that's how Otsdarva became rank #1. It's part of the reason why Otsdarva talks about surpassing White Glint in the mission. And for some strange reason, Otsdarva has a strong rivalry (even hate) towards WG. NEXTs and the pilots are extremely valuable to each corporation. That also lends to the setting of 4. White Glint is the only actual military power for Line Ark. The League understands from previous Order Matches (before they went to war) that a single NEXT is not capable of beating White Glint. That's the main reason why a second NEXT (you) is sent with Otsdarva to fight WG. However, it's also possible that you weren't supposed to survive against WG. Because, in the League Ending, Wynne contacts you about the League being in cahoots with ORCA. League created ORCA to crush anyone trying to execute the Closed Plan from 4. Play ORCA ending, that's why Thermidor turns against you. Otsdarva was planned to sink so League could fulfill ORCA. It's a speculation if WG conspired with Otsdarva (faking his death) to create ORCA (but that would mean Line Ark is in cahoots with the League and happy to be their scapegoat). That doesn't make sense for Line Ark and White Glint. Because in 4, WG took down about half of the Lynx pilots during the Lynx war, BFF and Rayleonard, while Joshua took down Akvavit. Also, keep in mind, during the "INTERNAL PURGE" mission, Menno Ruh shows up to take down WG (you in 4). Akvavit was never there. It was a trap to get rid of WG (you in 4). You were becoming too strong in 4. Throughout the setting of 4, the corporations are toying around with WG (you in 4) and Joshua O'Brien. At the same time, the corporations are afraid of you (in 4) and Joshua because (1), you are both independent mercenaries, and (2), you would both become too powerful to control (Emil vaguely mentions this). It's why there's a sudden rise to AFs, which becomes prominent in 4A. The whole time, the corporations are trying to take you both down (take HARD MODE as canon), getting you to fight each other, yet you both never fight to the death until the very last mission where Joshua truly dies. In 4A, the namesake COLLARED organization is created by the League to literally "collar" all Lynx pilots. It's their way of controlling them. Those who are not part of COLLARED are simply "Irregulars". Given the events of 4, it makes no sense for WG to partner with Otsdarva as a proxy to the League to be their scapegoat and literally throw their lives away. The idea that Otsdarva and WG conspiring to fake his death became so popular that it just became the norm. However, if you really want to be suspicious of anyone then it should be Kasumi Sumika, your operator in 4A. Sorry for long write-up, I just hope this clarifies everything.

Oh do,I miss this game so much. I played this for countless hours. I still love it.
This is the first video I ever watched of ACFA and made me fall in love with it.
A month ago, I bought a second-hand Xbox 360 just to play this game and make my dreams come true.
I've now S ranked the whole game and I'm planning to build a replica of your Next just to recreate this fight, the first one I ever watched of this game.
Thank you for the comment.
I don't know what I used for parts back in the day. I just know the dual gatlings are just for show. Dual Railguns are op as heck.
And I played this pretty bad. Maybe I do another White Glint video. Without Railguns.
Btw you need Verdict Day. Verdict Day is sooooooooo good.

"White Glint is too much for a single NEXT to take on..."
Yet (s)he gets absolutely pwned in Order Matches.
It would be quite the waste of resources in this world where everyones fighting for resources to be having "fake" matches with manufacturing blanks for guns the size of semi trucks and real fuel capable of lifting a xxxx-ton robot into the air.
I just checked every nook and cranny there is, and there’s no mention of White glint’s arena encounter being an AI, even in the ingame bio.
@@Courier-gq6ym yeah that was the big wrong on me, I looked into it too. Still doesn't make any sense with him(her?) Showing up for a "friendly bout". Especially with earth in the state it is and resources as hard as they are.
Heh. Have to say that despite the totally flat english voice acting, this is still the last real, great AC game to me. ACV just....isn't quite it.
therealbahamut I actually have a copy of ACV, and currently, I'm enjoying it (Beat the story missions, just wrapping up the Order Missions. Stupid Zodiac ACs **grumble grumble**), buts thats mainly because my first outing with 4/4A was what can only be described as trainwreck.... at the age I got it at, it was WAY too fast for me to handle, particularly when the combat was a NEXT vs NEXT battle.... (Couldn't even make it past Amazigh/Barboroi....)
Now that I'm older (and finishing ACV), I'm planning to go and track down copies of AC4/AC4A and see what I missed out on.....
Nice. You pretty much let Otsdarva keep White Glint busy while you snipe from afar.
The intro for white glint is pretty amazing.
When I hearing this mission briefing for first time.. i just notice something off about this white NEXT... thats he was on rank 9 and too OP.
The number "9" for AC vets means "something that obviously dangerous"... Even this universe are total different with others, but experience never gone different
I guess that's one way to do it.
I personally like machine-gun arms with a Gatling gun on a SLOUH, makes everything that more intense
I've preferred using a Chain Gun in the back slot, but using the Gatling Cannon just might pack a better punch.
I usually fight alongside White Glint against Otsdarva and CUBE instead. It's much more satisfying to help Anatolia's Mercenary than kill him, and Line Ark are the closest thing the game has to good guys.
Oh god, THANK YOU SO MUCH. That set up is so good!!!! I got S ranking on hard, no trouble :D Thanks!!
No Problem. ;3
Slimshadow457 Nyaa~ Whity it's a high mobility flight NEXT, and this Map is for the high mobility ground NEXT perfect.
Who will win? One advanced agile NEXT

@@Geuelthefool personally I don't think a game should be hard because of clunky controls because that's just annoying.

Sinking into the ocean. A perfect escape to become Maxamillion Thermadore. He faked his own death.
(T'was kind of my default setup, either that or double spike fists)
In the end, It would last roughly a minute...

I beat this fight with one or two shots from my primary weapon. I always loved how White Glint’s pilot is your old character from AC4. It’s a shame you have to kill him. Two points I want to add on to this:

the only armored core i beat was number 4. and now anatolias mercenary is dead...he was the pilot of White Glint i know it. they killed the only protagonist that made me get interested in the series! hate when they do that...like what happened with Alex Mercer and prototype.
***** he is defeated anyway i tought...no?
Luis Rivera well that is a very elaborated answer. Thank you very much for explaining all of this to me, partner.

@@BansheeNT-D Thanks! Much appreciated! :)
I use those two railguns too.
For me the Railguns are the best Weapons in 4A! Easy to use, super long range and fast muzzle velocity and alot of Ammo for the Dmg.
I never quite got that Otsdarva couldn't beat White Glint. He's rank 1. The best. And he couldn't do it alone? Discount rank 1 I guess.
That battle was scripted from start to Otsdarvas fake death.
They needed a Lynx that can on field confirm he got destroyed.
Why that briefing looks similar to Ace Combat 4's?
