To be honest, I thought Rantaro having actually survived his murder, proving his status as the Ultimate Survivor, would have been a great twist to a character who died so prematurely. It could be that the shotput ball thrown by Tsumugi only gravely injured and his unconscious form appeared like he died. He would then be taken away by the mastermind to be kept hidden away from the group to be used as a bargaining chip for the potential 'revive the dead' motive in chapter 3. Following the end of the chapter, he would mysteriously disappear and not reappear until chapter 6 when it became officially safe to appear before the remaining survivors during the trial. Tsumugi would have no choice to allow it as the case is already not going her way with them about to reveal her as the mastermind.

Ryoma went into the killing game to escape the mafia and to try to forget his traumatic past, therefore gaining the Ultimate Tennis Player as his title. He seems to have a will of living or sense of fulfillment, being a cheerful young man he is. However, during Chapter 2, Ryoma saw Maki's motive video, and it reminded him of his past. It is then that he really can't move on from his past, and he ultimately decided to have himself killed by Kirumi.
So the killing game was like a rehabilitation center to him.

Okay, first off, any reimagining that has best girl Kirumi as a Survivor is great in my book. Plus, I _love_ the fact that you used the 'Two Killers, Only One Blackened' rule that felt so wasted in V3-3. Plus, it just works so well to have Kirumi to be the second killer. Something that I enjoy about her is her 'ends justify the means' mentality. She has the best of intentions, she wants to help as many people as she can... but she's all too willing to go down the dark roads to do it, being one of the more cruel and manipulative Blackeneds. Having her fill the role of the murderer amongst the survivors is _perfect,_ plus, as you said, it makes more sense from a character perspective, as leaving Kork alive would throw a wrench into Himiko's own development. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure the whole "real fiction" ending would absolutely drive her over the edge into Despair.
My gushing about my favorite V3 Character aside, I like the touch of Tsmoog faking her execution. We've had faked deaths before, but the Mastermind outright cheating to get out of their just desserts is something unprecedented, and feels totally in line with how Tsumugi's a Mastermind who refuses to play by her own rules she made for the Killing Game.
Finally, I'm so glad you kept the original three Survivors alive. I love Himiko and Shuichi to bits, and while I'm not exactly a Maki fan, it does make sense that she'd be a survivor, given everything that happens Chapter 5 wise. Also, I never thought of how Kiibo's death was also necessary in a sense, being the Hope to Tsumugi's Despair, and as such, also needing to be destroyed to end Danganronpa permanently.
Overall, a really solid video, mate! You just earned yourself a new subscriber!

Am I the only one who hated how the devs didn't have Kiibo be devastated over Miu's death? Similar to how Akane held Nekomaru's head and cried, why couldn't we get that for Kiibo? Instead they just make him argue with Kokichi again. Like why, that was the perfect opportunity to be the first time that his emotions slip up. PLUS to the outside world, he's the protagonist and Miu is technically the closest to Kiibo, making her the female sidekick. Chapter 4 is the emotional chapter. SO WHY DIDN'T THE DEVS GIVE HIM AN EMOTIONAL MOMENT WITH MIU IN CHAPTER 4 OF IN GENERAL? I just hate how V3 cucked my best boy like this, and just spread the development jam of the rest of the cast over the survivors and Kokichi. And this is coming from a Kokichi fan.

THANK YOU! I really disliked how a lot of screen time was given to certain other characters instead of Kiibo, a PLOT-IMPORTANT character. And out of all these 'certain characters', Kokichi was the only one whom I didn't mind and understood why he has a prominent role in the story. And I feel like they didn't show much of Kiibo and Miu's relationship is because they didn't want either of them to be a survivor. Had they made Kiibo have his character arc relating to Miu's death, they would have to make him a survivor, but they didn't want to, which sucks. I'm not excusing them or anything. This is why I think they didn't give Kiibo a character arc relating to Miu's death that happened before chapter 6. If you notice what the 3 survivors have in common with each other, it's that they're the only ones who have gotten character development arcs that happened before the sixth chapter. So... yeah...

It annoys me in general how they treated Keebo and Miu. They set Keebo up to be someone who’s going to have a lot of character development, coming to terms with his humanity and sense of self, and they never deliver it until the very end, when his only purpose is to be used as as a spare part to the plot. It’s kind of ironic, actually.
And Miu just felt like comic relief. I realise that their intention was to make her as unlikable as possible (which really backfired. A girl that’s open about her sexuality, and isn’t as brash or as mean-sprited as say, Hiyoko, isn’t going to be hated in Western society, Kodaka). But at the same time, everything about her is related to the concept of sex. She gets off on insults, yeah, but also flinches whenever anybody raises their voice at her in general. And instead of actually taking the time to think, “oh. Maybe there’s some sort of trauma there,” they instead just go... “ha-ha. Sex!” They create the idea of her only becoming talented by a head injury, making her the only character aside from Kamakura to not be born with her talent, and they do nothing with it. Although it was the second game that explored the concept of talent and Nagito’s philosophy of “some people are born talented, and some worthless,” I still feel as though it was a massive missed opportunity to explore that, especially since her talent is something she gained accidentally, whereas Kamakura’s was intentionally manufactured. Her relationship with Kokichi is also something I really feel should have been explored out with the trials. I think we all misinterpreted what we were given for something that was good-natured and overall light-hearted. That’s the vibe I got from their teasing. But chapter 4 completely ruins that by making it clear that they both seemed to take it very personally, and by doing its best to vilify both of them and making it seem as though Miu is selfish by trying to kill Kokichi, when it’s probably not something she would have done to begin with. At the end of the day, her relationship with Keebo was just supposed to be a brief scene of fan service, and to help you hate Miu by implying her as a rapist since Keebo technically wouldn’t know what was going on. But aside from the fact that Shuichi didn’t know the entire story, Miu is also technically being very violated, since she very much does not know that she is squishing herself onto cameras the entire world is looking through. And instead of exploring that avenue of violation, they just make it a... “ha-ha. Sex!”

They definietely did make few hints at how he misses her after her death: when he wanted to be hit by hammer to see if Miu perceived him as a person rather than an object, when he talked about her "innocence hidden deep inside", and something about how she would like hangar with Exisals, but I agree that they could make his reaction to her death bigger. I think that they went with a rather silent grieve, but as Kiibo fan I wish that would get more focus in the story (sorry for the rant, just had to get that out of my system)

    • @darkkirb206
      @darkkirb206 3 роки тому +33

As a fan of BOTH characters and as someone who REALLY dislikes Chapter 4 from a writing point of view, I agree with this. While I get that Kiibo was set up to die later on due to Chapter 6, I find it inexcusable that Kiibo didn’t react to ANYTHING about Miu’s trial. Did he react to Miu’s choice to murder? Nope. Did he try to speak for her in a way to make her motives more understandable? Nope. Does he show any signs of regret or sadness for not noticing what she was doing sooner? Nopity, nopity, NOPE. This the same robot who said he wanted to CRY for her and he doesn’t respond to any of the information given in the trial. As for Miu herself, and this is going off a previous reply, I HATED how this chapter as a whole treated her. They literally go above and beyond to vilify her despite the fact that her motives were similar to Kirumi’s and she’s just as much of a victim of circumstance as any other character that chooses to kill in this series. But NO! Apparently if someone was too scared to trust the others, wanted to utilize their talents to help a larger amount of people, and are constantly surrounded by people who treat you like an idiot, it makes you evil according to these writers. This was a mean-spirited Chapter in my opinion that only served as pandering to the writers intentions by having Miu die in the stupidest, most humiliating way possible while looking as antagonistic as possible, despite not accomplishing anything, and making the guy who murdered her look as sympathetic as possible, despite the fact that even if Miu had been an innocent party, this wouldn’t have changed. But that’s just my opinion. Sorry if I sound angry in this reply.

      @@darkkirb206
Oh no, you are totally right. Miu was written with the intention to be hated. Apparently women in Danganronpa can only be open about their sexuality if they cultivate a more “innocent” image (Sonia and Kaede), or are completely unaware, almost childlike, of their own sexualisation (Mikan, Akane, and in some ways, Hina, which is its own hot topic). If they own it and they use it knowingly and willingly like Miu and Angie and Junko, then they’re horrible people.
(Of course, Angie and Junko are horrible for separate reasons, but when their sexuality is tied to their villainness, as we see with Korekiyo taking a “liking” to Angie, and how weirdly conservative the good, non-despairful Ryoko Otonashi is, I think it becomes pretty clear what the message is).

Honestly this might sound crazy (and maybe bias as this is my favourite character from V3) but I think Korekiyo would have made just as good of a survivor and Kirumi as you say, I wouldn’t mind flipping the two but both have their merits and could fit the role perfectly. Not only would the plot point of having a murderer get away with it happen but I think his potential reaction to the end where tsumugi reveals they are all characters and the potential that korekiyo’s sister doesn’t even exist would add so much weight, basically insinuating he killed for nothing and it was a “lie” could bring a massive amount of sympathy for the character as he breaks down, realising what he did was for nothing and he practically killed someone for now reason, perhaps giving him a sense of redemption as he starts feeling guilt for his decision and we see a vulnerable side to him. It could also be interesting to see how he could interact with himiko post chapter three, I think there’s opportunity for her to be able to have the growth as you wanted to keep it by having it so the cast restricts korekiyo in some way due to their fear of him wanting to kill, perhaps locking him in his room for most of the time, only letting him out to eat and perhaps some other essential stuff, you could have it then where himiko can grow as a character and perhaps even gain more when she has to put aside for her distain for him to help solve the case which can showcase growth for her.
Which his motive to kill, I think it would have been better if his motive was simply because he thought the mystery of the locked room was impossible to figure out so he decided to formulate a quick way to kill in hopes of trying to getting himself out as well only for it to backfire. You do have to take into account his reason for murder doesn’t really make so much sense since he could have done it any other time, like he could have done it at the first chapter since there was a timer being introduced and he could have used a seance to trick someone into believing they can get out in at a time where things were desperate and be able to leave himself so he could have attempted to make more ‘friends’ but he didn’t and he could have done it in the second chapter two, his desire to kill just came out of nowhere really which I didn’t like. Maybe it would have been better to scrap his sister part really but it would lose the potential it could bring for the character in chapter 6. (Actually, just thought of this now but what if the motive was him trying to get the book to instead try and revive his dead sister? That would have been rally sympathetic and sad. That’s actually a lot better really now that I think about it, it would fit with the theme two of killing for others, kirumi could have killed to save others but korekiyo killed to revive another).
For how this would affect the other chapters in significant ways:
4: immediate conflict with the rest of the cast, many restrain him and keep him locked in his room with the use of a heavy object or a lock, perhaps gonta being the only one that can interact with it due to it’s weight. Would be a immediate suspect in Trial 4 due to his previous murder but he could be exempt because he was the only one who was not invited to Miu’s virtual world due to what he did which can add more conflict. Korekiyo himself could also perhaps try to APOLOGISE! APOLOGISE! APOLOG- sorry, try to reconnect with the rest of the cast and make amends for what he did, saying he was being to irrational or he shouldn’t have let his dead sister control him or with what I propose, he shouldn’t have attempted to trade the lives of his classmates for his sister. 1 thing I just thought was that he could of been an alibi for kaito to help prove him innocent, perhaps kaito needed to use the bathroom but only wants to do it in his room, so korekiyo could have been the one that heard kaito and could have been the one to confirm Kaito’s alibi.
Chapter 5: korekiyo could still be restrained or not depending on his lock situation and if he was able to prove his innocence well and perhaps maybe helping in the case, if they decide to keep him locked up it could bring up ethical dilemmas when it comes to when the cast tries to escape in chapter 5, should they bring korekiyo with them or leave him behind?
There’s also the idea of perhaps him regretting to kill even more now that the knowledge of him being one of the last humans left is present so he could show more remorse for his actions. Could also have similar thoughts of him being the potential killer like in chapter 4.
Chapter 6: since this is the final battle, the remaining cast decide to let korekiyo out to help them, after proving himself that he has changed and isn’t going to kill anyone. He goes around and helps and then the trail happens where he has a mental down and bursts into tears after learning the one person he cared for the most didn’t even existed.
Anyways that’s my thoughts, great job on the video Btw.

Hi, I'm one of those people who have that damned urge to comment something if no one else has said it, regardless of how long ago the comment I'm replying to was sent. :')
1st, I wanna say thank you. Korekiyo is my favourite Danganronpa Character, so I appreciate what you've suggested.
2nd, I would like to state something...That's important to me. An idea I wish had been considered by the creators, to be more precise.
(Please feel free to make a Fanfic where this happens, I'd actually love that. I'd prefer if Amaguuji could be Canon in said Fanfic, rather then them just being friends, but still-)
Ok so- This is my thoughts on Rantaro's death, specifically Korekiyo's reaction to it.
I personally felt that the way Kiyo reacted to Rantaro's death was odd. (Hear me out, I ship Amaguuji so just let me say this without you misinterpreting it, thank you.)
One thing that I believe should be changed about Danganronpa is, if a character seems connected to someone else in a trial/investigation, there should be scenes leading up to it (Which have importance and can be linked to the plot and/or character development in a way that is realistic, or at least can be made sense of. They should also be shown as actually part of the story, rather then just as FTEs that most people won't see. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing with Kaito was great, but Chiaki and Rantaro are good examples of where the creators failed to show any special moments that would trigger certain characters feelings to be as extreme as they were towards them.)
Why did I mention Korekiyo's reaction to Rantaro's death you wonder? Well, I believe that Kiyo saw Rantaro as a friend, more so then he did the other characters, he trusted him more. Despite being sceptical of him in the scene where Amami was going to 'End the killing game', his reaction to Rantaro's death differed from his reaction to Ryoma's immensely. He certainly seemed to care more about Rantaro, it even seemed like he was struggling to hold his emotions back in front of the others, causing him to have to rush to his dorm. I've noticed that Shinguuji also seems to say random facts when he is nervous or worried, he then tries to cover up how nervous he is further, by linking what he's said to the situation as best as he can.
I wish they did more with this, and maybe kept Rantaro alive a little longer, so we could see their friendship grow, even if only slightly, before they killed off Rantaro. (As mentioned before, I do ship them, but even if they were just friends, it still would've been better then what had occurred in the canon game.)
Please don't try to tell me that Korekiyo's reaction is just him getting overwhelmed, because he didn't seem that worried until he realised the person who was dead was Rantaro. That was when he started to actually panic about the 1st death.
This all leads me to believe that Kiyo cared about him a little more then he did the others. But it's alright to disagree, as long as you try to stay respectful about my opinion.
(Sorry if anything isn't clear enough, or I seem to repeat myself but I worded it differently. I have autism, so I tend to not realise when I've done something of the sort.)
Thank you for taking time out of your day/night to read this. ^^
      - From a Kiyo Stan, who sort of Kins him, that just wants to defend him. (I think it's pretty obvious what my OTP is-)

After that the cast discovers that Shuichi reopens the trial one case and convicts Tsumugi. Then exactly what you said in the video stays the same.

I'm not sure getting Tsumugi offed (or at least fake killed) that early would be wise or even very possible for the characters, because they can't access the evidence that incriminates her. However, I definitely think a simple solution would be Ryoma killing himself, that way the negative drawbacks of Tsumugi's absence until chapter six could be avoided. It would be really cool if Tsumugi pretended to be the only one to trust Kirumi at first after finding out she killed Tenko, only for Kirumi to find out Tsumugi was the root evil of the entire game in the sixth trial. Talk about manipulation, ouch.

There is just one issue with Kirumi being the second Blackened in chapter 3. That issue being Miu.
Miu tried to kill Kokichi in chapter 4 but fails due to Gonta. If Kirumi survives in chapter 3, I feel like Miu would change her murder target from Kokichi to Kirumi because in her eyes Kirumi has an asshole who killed someone vs Kokichi who’s just an asshole. It still could work if Kokichi convinced both Kirumi and Gonta somehow to work together but I feel like that would only work if Kokichi shows Kirumi the flashback light too. Would Kirumi tell the others about what she saw or not? I’m not sure. For their sake (because they’re all she has left) she could not tell them but also it would go against her character because she would have to tell them what she saw because she follows the request of her people. How would you think it would go?
Edit: Now that I’m thinking about it, what about the Necronomicon? That just disappeared from the plot. Maybe as “Angie’s final wish,” Kirumi or Himiko bring back Rantaro or something... either that or it “backfires” and Tsumugi returns instead. Because what’s worse than have long a confirmed murder in the killing game? Two confirmed murderers.

    • @kiera6326
      @kiera6326 3 роки тому +15

I don’t know if she would go for Kirumi. She targeted Kokichi because he was causing trouble for all of them, not just her. Whilst I think her reasoning was, “if anyone’s the least undeserving of it, it’s you,” I’m not sure she would immediately go for Kirumi instead, since Kokichi was more of an active threat. That said, I don’t think it would be outlandish for her to go for Kirumi, since she did seem sort of personally offended by what Kirumi did right before she got executed, calling her a backstabbing cunt with a fervour her other insults didn’t really have, and if anybody deserved to die, it was the person who’d already killed someone, and she knew the lengths Kirumi would go to to ensure her own survival. I also thought that her relationship with Kokichi was a bit more good-natured than what Chapter 4 tried to make it out to be. In the end, I think it would go the way you said it would. Kirumi would end up on Kokichi and Gonta’s side, and would be prepared to allow him to kill Miu, but I also think Kokichi would gain more respect for Miu in the process of wanting to remove Kirumi from the game, since he is a “no-killing” person, and maybe he would change his mind at the last minute.

They are both calm, composed and humble, but Ryoma feels like he has nothing to serve or live for, while Kirumi opened herself this large sea of business. Unlike for example Chiaki, Kirumi only tries to appeal as a mary sue and puts this pressure on her to serve others, not having a much of a control over her own life. It would certainly open up an interesting dynamic between the two, as Ryoma is a lonely person that doesn't feel like they are able to find somebody to appreciate them and Kirumi is a busy and very admired person that even tries to serve strangers as she feels connection towards anyone. Maybe Kirumi could learn to not let others take control of her life and find some time for herself and Ryoma could find more reasons to live for thanks to Kirumi.

I think that the first two games were real, but was recreated with fake characters, so they are true fiction. It would also make sense for the world to be boring, after the literal apocalypse. She was cut short of her character development, so I have some ideas of what could’ve been. I think later on, she should’ve realized men aren’t that bad, and realize that her master taught her some things that aren’t really true. After she finds out these things, she starts to become more comfortable with everyone in the cast. But in one of the chapters, she should’ve killed someone to protect one of her male classmates to show the development she went through. She could’ve gained trust from all of her classmates, only to find out she killed one of them to protect another classmate. Her execution could’ve been well done too. It could’ve been something along the lines of showing her that males were the cause of her death. And, when she fought so hard to protect one of her male classmates, only to realize that they were the cause of her death. Something along those lines. Please excuse me if I’m rambling I’m writing this while I’m half asleep~ 🥲

She's usually more shocked about the death at first, and sometimes just doesn't speak for a while before finally saying something. Specifically, it makes me think back to trial one after Kaede's execution. Tsumugi didn't say a word until after Monokuma had thrown shade at the two dead people and left with his kubs, and even then what she said was weird and disingenuous. Come around to Chapter 3, I would have Tenko murdering Angie out of Rage, but leaving the body. Kiyo would find it, messing with the crime scene to create the locked room mystery. He would later murder Tenko like it goes in the chapter. Tenko would be the trial blackened. Kiyo would survive.

Kirumi would still kill Tenko, but only accidentally, by trying to readjust, but stepping on Kiyo's floorboard, while doing so, killling Tenko. Then everyone would hate her, blah blah blah, until someone (Preferably Himiko) would find something showing it was an accident in Ch. 4 or 5. Himiko would keep this a secret, because she didn't wnt to believe it. Himiko's actions toward Kirumi would change, and no one, including Kirumi, would know why. Himiko would probably reveal it in chapter 6, when Tsmugi said that Kirumi was programmed to kill Tenko. By then Kirumi would reveal her motive for wanting to kill Ryoma.

I’ve personally always liked the idea of Kaito being the Mastermind of the Killing Game. It just makes things stick so well tbh.
Like why Kaito was suddenly near the Library after Rantaro’s death, leading to him rushing in alongside Tenko. The BDA would sound because Shuichi, Kaede, and Tenko are there, giving Kaito cover to sacrifice Kaede so that he can break Shuichi and build him back up after Trial 1.
Kaito always speaks about being the Hero of your own story. He also attaches himself to Shuichi very quickly. Coincidence? It seems very odd. And with how Kaito so seamlessly makes up fictional stories in his FTEs and subtly avoids actually giving Shuichi any actual backstory, it makes sense that he’s the Mastermind of this fictional story. He refers to himself as the Hero, implying that he’s the actual main character. He even goes out of his way to take Shuichi under his wing and lead him through Chapter 2’s investigation.
Kaito espouses Hope in its most common form, saying through any trial that all they need to do is believe in each other to find the answers they seek. He constantly keeps up the pressure for everyone to escape too, driving everyone to Hope. It’s also notable that Kokichi, the one trying to take the game down, is saying the opposite and is often presented as Kaito’s foil. Imagine if you got to the end of the game and Kokichi was the one who was looking out for you while Kaito had been leading you to ruin. Imagine the emotional significance and impact on you. Imagine the emotions that Shuichi and Maki would feel as the man who led them through their development arcs was doing so only for his stupid fictional story. Imagine him still acting nonchalant and calling them his Sidekicks in this story. Imagine him saying casually that everything is scripted, which is why he didn’t say that he loved Maki back after she confessed prior to his “execution” in Trial 5. Imagine him admitting that he framed Kaede in Chapter 1 because she wouldn’t answer his attempts to get close to her and lead her through the story, which led to him ditching her to make Shuichi the Protagonist.
I also think it’d be ironic if Kaito, the Mastermind, was the one kidnapped by Kokichi in Chapter 5 as he pretended to be the Mastermind. It’d be pretty funny and ironic in hindsight, I think.

In chapter 3 they could do something unique. Since Kirumi is still alive she could work as a sort of right hand man to the student council under Angie's command. During the chapter Angie is able to convince Kirumi that killing Tenko would be the best possible option since Tenko betrayed the student Council. Next later in the case Tsumugi might walk in and see Kirumi and Angie trying to cover up Tenko's murder and freak out, resulting in Angie killing Tsumugi. During the trial you could have kirumi be executed for killing Tenko, and have Angie get off scott free except the student council turns on her for killing Tsumugi. This would also add a more complex arc for Himiko, as she now has to not only deal with the death of her friend Tenko, but also the betrayl of Angie.

@@DerpyHiro Ah, That’s fine! Your entitled to your opinions! But now that I’ve thought it over, I’d say switching out Kokichi for Himiko would for me, Make his character more expanded, since he could possibly reveal his true self due to the killing game being over, Maybe we could get hard reveals, such as a reveal of him being a possible orphan due to the history his organization in another series since DICE in that other series takes in Orphans. so he could possibly apologize for being such a bad person, if I could make it have more survivors, I’d have it have 4 survivors with, Maki, Shuichi, Kaede & Kokichi, Kaede could still die, she’s just an option if I could have 4 survivors, if I couldn’t have her, Then Kirumi. Kaede I think could have some good character development over the game, and A Thought that I had just now, What if Kaede was simply Switched out for shuichi, like she got saved from her execution by one of the Monokubs by accident. And then she’s phased out for the rest of the game until chapter 6, or she dies and after chapter 6, the ritual in Chapter 3 actually works and revives her miraculously. and instead for the mastermind being Tsumugi, Maybe it’s shuichi, The character you’ve been playing this whole time And once it’s over and shuichi (+Tsumugi and Keebo) Dies, because he’s the mastermind, Kaede could be phased back in, through either her surviving her execution or through the ritual. The Ritual is really underused in my opinion, and bringing back the Protag after the Protag we’ve been playing as dies as the mastermind, it would provide an epic twist. But as it stands, the survivors are good, To me they should be tweaked a bit to have 4, Ill list them now.

Kokichi (Wanted him to have a redemption arc in the whole of Chapter 6’s trial)

Kaede ( Would’ve liked her to be revived by the ritual)
Kirumi (wanted her to be The Prime Minister that has Friends to care for instead of her country due to it all being fictional)

    Here's how I would've change DRV3:
Mastermind changes: Professor Iidabashi is the main mastermind while Tsumugi is a part of Team Danganronpa. In this version, Tsumugi complains on how plain she is because she's wanted to be as boring as possible and was tired of hosting Danganronpa. Monokuma will be the audience surrogate while Professor Iidabashi is Kiibo's So called "Inner Voice" and spectates through his eyes.
Chapter 1: Tsumugi kills Rantaro in order to prevent Kaede from becoming the blackened.
Chapter 2: Himiko dies in chapter 2 instead of Ryoma. Tenko gets character development.
Chapter 3: The 'First come first serve' Rule comes to play in chapter 3. Korekiyo kills Angie, becoming the blackened. Ryoma kills Korekiyo by sabotaging the Seesaw Effect in order to protect Tenko from being killed. Monokuma executes Monodam for killing Monokid and Monosuke. Ryoma live due to the First come first serve rule and gets character development and a new will to live.
Chapter 4: Everything goes the same except Kaede and Ryoma are the only one who suspects Kokichi's villain act after Gonta's execution.
Chapter 5: Kaede takes the poison arrow instead of Kaito and is the one who dies instead of Kokichi. That's when the protagonist role transfers to Shuichi. The plan goes the same except Kaede wants to reveal the truth behind Kokichi's lies.
Chapter 6: Instead of the mystery being revealed to us, Shuichi and those who survived to will be the ones who figure out the mysteries and that the events in THH and SDR2 ever happened because Danganronpa was a show. It's also revealed that Tsumugi purposefully left evidence on how to end Danganronpa before the first class trial. Kiibo destroys the academy, Killing Professor Iidabashi in the process. Thus ending the show.
The survivors: Shuichi, Kokichi, Ryoma, Tenko, and Maki.

To be honest I always imagined a situation where during chapter three, there were two separate murders. One done by anyone and the other by maybe an ultimate lucky student. In this scenario the two killers literally have no idea who died first and whether or not they're the blackened, but the ultimate lucky student gets off scot free because they were lucky and were found to only be responsible for the second murder.
Pretty simple, but I like the idea more than it constantly being the same killer for both people. Also I find the concept of not knowing whether or not you're the blackened to be interesting.

  • @Lux_the_Lost
    @Lux_the_Lost 3 роки тому +16

Ooh, now this was an interesting one. So for the most part, the dead in this case stay dead but we have the change from culprit to survivor for Kirumi. I actually really like this idea - for one, Kirumi honestly did not fill the role of chapter 2's killer very well - she took unnecessary measures to move Ryoma's body and left too much evidence behind while banking on Himiko being too proud of her "magic" to reveal the inner workings of her escape trick. If she had simply left Ryoma's body where it was, that case would have been a lot harder to solve.
So instead we have her not killing in Chapter 2, even though perhaps the thought would still strike her at some point, but then finally snapping under the pressure and killing Tenko in Chapter 3 out of desperation. Now we've seen similar motives for the murders in previous games, but in each case so far the person involved has paid for it with their life. Having them instead discover that they got innocent blood on their hands and planned so desperately for their escape only to discover it was all for naught is a genius twist - Kirumi would now have to deal with the guilt of killing Tenko and betraying everybody for the rest of the game, and she could pretty much forget about ever being friends with Himiko again.
Come to think, this would invite a fair bit of backlash from Korekiyo too. I recall him making a few remarks about Kirumi in the game that led me to think she would eventually have become another possible target of his had she survived, as another "friend" to send to dear Sister. Although this would be a tad on the hypocritical side, I can see Korekiyo being utterly disgusted with Kirumi when the others reveal her to be Tenko's killer, with her selfish desperation revealed. He had seriously been considering sending THIS to Sister? What a sorry judge of character he'd been...
After that trial he others, of course, would have a lot of difficulty coming to trust her again and she really wouldn't be able to fault them for it - her own stupid moment of weakness was to blame. She'd have a lot to think about after this - she had snapped under the pressure and had pretty much reduced her own chances of escape now to nearly zero. God knows she wouldn't get another chance - she'd be the first person the others would suspect. She'd failed everyone... She'd betrayed everyone. There would really be nothing to do but pick herself back up and spend the rest of the game carrying that weight on her shoulders.
So what's left for her to do? Simple - make it up to the others by putting her talents toward solving the remaining cases and other mysteries of the school - so essentially she'd be working alongside Shuichi and aiding him in his investigations (albeit with very wary eyes on her at first). This would also be a pretty good turn for Shuichi, if also one he'd be reluctant to take. While he has improved as a detective at this point, the others are honestly a little too reliant on him and him alone during the trials at this point (and it so happens to REALLY show in Chapter 4), and that ain't good for the poor guy. Kirumi might be just the sort of help he needs to take some of that weight off him and help steer him in the right direction (again, while being help he would still have some trouble accepting).
This would again put her at odds with everyone else in the fourth trial - god knows, siding against a gentle giant like Gonta would be a very tall order for many and the realization that he's the unwitting culprit would be difficult for many including Kirumi to swallow - but even still, having been about to gather facts and listen carefully to the things everyone else had to say, she would reluctantly but firmly agree with Shuichi and have no choice but to accept Kokichi's confession as fact as much as it would hurt to do so.
This understandably would not sit well with Himiko or Kaito, and both of them would put Kirumi on the spot as their suspect - an effort that would ultimately prove pointless and useless, as Kokichi would point out in some way or another that it would be impossible for Kirumi to have murdered Miu as he had with all of the others, thus leaving Gonta the only possibility by process of elimination. Kirumi couldn't fault them for suspecting her, really - she'd brought that upon herself.
But at the end of the trial, with Gonta realizing the truth, crying and begging them to not go after Kokichi for what he'd done, he'd make one additional plea to the rest of the cast - Gonta would ask them to forgive Kirumi and give her another chance. After all, had she not been driven to her actions in a very much similar manner to how he had? They had both been stupid, they had both been pushed to the brink and had a moment of weakness because of this whole stupid game. This would completely and utterly shock Kirumi herself; even the gentlemanly Gonta who would literally never hurt a fly had been angry with her up to now and she very well deserved it... and now, here he was suddenly begging for forgiveness on her behalf?! Kirumi would openly object to the very idea and point out that she had acted far more selfishly than Gonta, and that unlike him the life she had claimed was a completely innocent one. Tenko had never planned to commit any murder int he first place, unlike Miu... Tenko frankly deserved to be standing here among the others, and Kirumi would even argue that it should have been herself who'd died in the seance! But of course, Gonta being Gonta, he would have absolutely none of it and shoot this objection down. He would point out that Kirumi had indeed made mistakes, terrible ones... But she was not a bad or evil person, and she deserved to live a good and honest life as much as Shuichi, Kokichi, Kaito or any of the rest, and that she shouldn't be shouldering her terrible burden all by herself anymore.
Kirumi would, for the first time, have absolutely nothing to say. This plea by Gonta would leave her completely stunned, perhaps even moving the usually calm, level-headed and calculated Ultimate Maid to tears. It would have a bit of a mixed effect on everybody else - to Himiko what occurred with Kirumi was a lot more personal so I don't think she'd really be willing to forgive her, and Kaito probably wouldn't be convinced either. They would both still be wary of her stabbing them in the back again - Shuichi, however, would see things differently. He had been very reluctant to accept her help, but as far as he could see Kirumi had proven herself ready to aid everyone and truly regretted the things she'd done; he wouldn't bear her any resentment - despite clear objections by a few of the others, he would give Gonta his word and Keebo would probably stand with him too.
With that, Monokuma would laughingly initiate Gonta's execution and the bit with Kokichi would play out with even Kirumi standing against Kokichi now, quite visibly angry with him for simply mocking Gonta after everything he'd just said and showing a more emotional side of herself than usual. After this, though still believing she doesn't deserve it she'd be nonetheless grateful for her second chance and would firmly stick to her resolution to help Shuichi and the others with their investigations of the school. She'd begin asking the big question about why Gonta had been driven to murder in the first place, too.
As for what to do with her from there, well, who knows? I can see her still acting as Shuichi's partner during the investigations and doing whatever else she can for the others and perhaps even growing closer to some of them, her reaction to the devastated world outside would undoubtedly be pretty heart-rending, and I could see her being the one to help Shuichi put the facts together and make Maki realize that she in fact didn't kill Kaito in Chapter 5's trial, and of course she would take a firmly defiant stand against Tsumugi in the finale and join the others in not voting, and be standing there with Shuichi, Maki and Himimko when the dust settles.
Oh, and maybe also not have Keebo blow himself up in the whole crazy process? Honestly, I don't know why they felt the need to do that.

And she chose Ryoma to kill for that same reason. Her killing Tenko just makes no sense to her characterisation whatsoever - after all, she still cares immensely for the rest of the characters. Instead, have Angie be killed by Himiko. This still allows her to obsess over Tenko’s death too. Then, Korekiyo lives in her place, but now there’s an added benefit: conflict. Korekiyo being a murderer will add interesting tension and cause issues in the class trials, especially the 4th chapter. And by having him survive, it creates an interesting moral question of should he?

I feel like maki’s reveal was too early causing her for some people to stale later in the game. She should of been revealed at the end of chapter 3. Also, I would have kiibo surviving. I would have tsimugi die in chapter 2. Instead of ryoma, instead of having him having a bunch of attention in the beginning. When Ryoma finds out nobody loves him. He goes to GONTA and kiibo. Gonta and kiibo helps ryoma. Making him have a will to leave. Once Gonta is reached as the killer, Ryoma has a mental breakdown. But kiibo helps him get over it and stay looking bright. At the end of the 5th class trial. The mastermind turns off kiibos memory, remember. But this happens after shuchi does his “end” part. But, Ryoma remembers kiibo telling him if he shuts down just tell him commands and he’ll respond, he also remembers that kiibo told him about his secret of having weapons. Ryoma didn’t tell anyone to respect the secret. So, Ryoma tells kiibo to activate super mode. Ryoma runs around the table, jumps on kiibos back, scraping him in. Shuichi quickly says “your life is on the line Ryoma don’t do this!!” He responds “I’ll do this for everyone here, even if my life depends on it.” (Ok, you remember that video when Derpy goes over the ratings for v3 and Ryoma places 15th for the Japanese , this iconic line will make him way more respected because most Japanese people will sacrifice their lives for there country shown at the end of ww2. The same act is represented by Ryoma right here. This will make his popularity go up. Then he does what kiibo does at the end of chapter 6 at the end of all of that Ryoma slips off after breaking the glass barrier around the school. Kiibo wakes up and remembers his memories finally, sees what just happened then sees an injured ryoma on the ground and a piece of debris coming straight at ryoma. Out of desperation kiibos uses all his blaster power to get Ryoma out the way, but it’s too late. We get a cutscene of a piece of the school on Ryoma, and kiibo calls all the other survivors up. And we go to shuichis POV and see kiibo lift the piece up to see ryoma’s dead body. But instead of having the AAAEEEAAAAEEEAAAEEEEAAEEE’s we get sad music. After that kiibo picks up ryoma’s body and for the first time cries. Something kokichi told him he could never do because he can’t feel emotions. As we see the cast get a grip of themselves, Kiibo, maki, shuichi, himiko, and Ryoma’s dead body in kiibos hands. The game ends. Or whatever. Any ways next part. I wouldn’t have tsimugi be the master mind. I would have her die instead of rantaro, then have rantaro die in place of ryoma. Honestly this is my info so far I have an idea of who I would have be the mastermind but it would need changes from the first game ;p.

Think about it: it would have been AMAZING for chapter 1 to become the very first case with NO execution(making it unique). This would result in two things: everyone distrusting Kaede AND there being an overarching mystery of who truly killed Rantaro. By the time the final case happens, Shuichi and Kaede could find the ball with vest fibers on it and realize that it was the MASTERMIND who killed and tried to frame Kaede. This could lead into both Shuichi and Kaede leading the final trial, with Kaede leading the mystery of Rantaro’s death and exposing Tsumugi and Shuichi being the one to ultimately defeat her. I think that could have been great.

Honestly, you could interchange Himiko with Tenko as the survivor. Tenko could have gone a character arc of where she cant trust any men after Kiyo’s trial and slowly build that up by her seeing Kaito, Shuichi, and Maki training outside. Maki and Tenko can form some kind of friendship (their designs look very similar anyway) and we get a better Tenko who can trust men a little bit more.
I liked Himiko originally. But after watching a few LPs of other youtubers, i find her quite... annoying? Because of her whole “it’s my magic” shtick, which they went really hard on in this game. Ryoma with his “Still got ways to go”, Kaito’s “Luminary of the Stars”, Maki’s “Do you wanna die?”, etc etc. Which is why i think Tenko can also take Himiko’s place as a survivor.
As for Kirumi, I also do like her. I love her design and devotion as a maid. Her motive was trash honestly. Even for Danganronpa standards, a high school student of exceptional talent as PM is kind of a reach. Maybe it’s because politics and government tend to have a bad stigma/negative trait to most people (including me), which may have been a turn off for Kirumi’s motive. I like your idea of having her being a survivor though. She would have been very useful in class trials even if she got away with Tenko’s murder, as a way to try and gain everyone’s trust back.

Personally I completely understand why Tsumugi contributed nothing to V3’s plot until chapter 6. She’s the Mastermind, but she’s also the one writing everything. She cannot afford to stand out because that’s how people get killed. She’s just happy to remain in the background, occasionally make cheesy references, and adjust the game as things develop. If she dies, then Season 53 would get cancelled because no one can manage the game anymore. Monokuma might be able to, but we know that only Tsumugi can make more Monokumas through the Motherkuma. If Monokuma were to have been destroyed after Tsumugi’s death, there would be no spare bodies around to use. And the way she reacts to things such as Kaito’s execution failing or her being way in the back of the crowd after Kaede’s death subtly point to her having more going on beneath the surface. And finally the way she speaks. Tsumugi always uses some form of the word “plain”. It’s like she’s trying to subconsciously make sure that she’s as normal as possible and there’s no way she could be anything but. I mean sure some might already suspect her, but then you realize that you actually forget about Tsumugi even being there until she speaks or the camera points to her. She literally fades in the background for so long it’s only until chapter 6 you really start to question “Why is she here?”.

Important thing, if tenko wasn't killed by Kiyo, then they never would have found Kiyo as a killer. Angie's murder was, on itself a perfect murder. If tenkos murder never happened, and they never would have talked about it, they never would have found Kiyo as the killer.

Technically, Tsumugi should have been able to 'cosplay' as some of the people from Rantaro's killing game, right? However, she only cosplayed as characters we know from the previous series, which I find quite weird since she should have been able to cosplay as all of the dangaronpa characters, this including the ones we haven't seen.

Fun idea: In the third chapter, Tsumugi would kill Angie and Korekiyo would kill Tenko. That would make Korekiyo a survivor and have conflict with Himiko, much like Hiyoko did with Fuyuhiko. Then, Tsumugi would come back in the 6th trial.

  • @Marigold11037
    @Marigold11037 3 роки тому +3

Guys, wait a second. I know a way that Tsumugi could rejoin the group before chapter 6, while still faking her death in chapter 2
Remember the book in chapter three? That was supposed to revive a dead classmate?
This. What if during the trial, Shuichi still notices that the instructions haven't been followed, and dismisses the use of the necronomicon. But then at the very end of the chapter, in the build up to chapter four, we see the book on fire and watch as it eventually burns out. Then perhaps see a shadow of somebody.
Then, either Tsumugi returns confused and seemingly hurt, saying that the book must have brought her back. The others cant fight this, since they saw her die but they also know she's right there in front of them.
Or even worse, she comes back in cosplay as another character. Imagine the possibilities - she comes back as Rantaro, still confused and not knowing his talent
Or she returns as Kaede just to hurt Shuichi even more. They never hang out and he never hears her playing piano, all with the excuse of "I'm sorry Shuichi, I think I just want to rest now" (of course this is all just Tsumugi acting)
This would add to the whole cospox debate, and of course Kokichi would be suspicious the whole time since he can tell when others are lying.
Then, when the mastermind is revealed, "Kaede" or "Rantaro" or whoever Tsumugi poses as is nearly voted again, killing everybody except for 1 person she chooses to stay alive with her. Except Shuichi picks up on something, probably a hint that Kokichi leaves before his death. It's revealed that Tsumugi is actually the mastermind in cosplay which is incredibly painful and confusing for the rest of the group, especially Shuichi if it's "Kaede" who comes back.
Then the rest of trial six continues as normal, with Kirumi there as you said, and the game continues.
My only issue with Kirumi being there is that the cast would be a little unbalanced. In DR1 it was 3 girls 3 boys, DR2 3 boys 2 girls (but secretly everyone) then V3 it'd now be one guy and three girls?
Anyway tell me what you think of my idea~

For some reason, I with the exception of game 1, I feel like the cases with two victims should have been a split path and you would get different endings accordingly. I know a lot would have needed to be implemented, but I can't help but be extra curious how that could have worked.

    Mine:
As much as I love Rantaro (literally my favorite) i'd keep him as first victim. But with Tsumugi as the killer, in this, she's not the mastermind.
I'd still keep Ryoma as second victim, but with Himiko being the killer.
Angie and Kiyo still dies in chapter 3, with Gonta being the other victim. Also, Angie killed Gonta, and Kiyo killied Angie.
    Miu kills Kokichi.
Maki kills herself, for Kaito to survive (Kaito drank the antidote)
I love Mastermind Tsumugi. But I love Mastermind Shuichi even more. With this, Kaede falls into despair that the one who she's closest to is the mastermind.
WIth the past chapters, Tenko has been more nice to men, realizing that they can be stronger than her. Kirumi saw her motive video, and had the will to escape. But not with killing. I dunno about Kiibo, he's there I guess.
I'd keep the ending but with Kiibo not blowing himself up.
    MY SURVIVORS:
    Kaede Akamatsu
    Kirumi Tojo
    Tenko Chabashira
    Kaito Momota
    Kiibo
    (Alot of K names)

Funny, I also had my doubts about Tsumugi, but for entirely different reasons. Sure, her design was a bit on the evil side, but it's not like all people who look a little sinister are actually bad guys. It's especially odd for me, since V3 was my first Danganronpa game. I think it was all the little things, like how she was suddenly brought up in the first trial by Kiyo who said she left to use the bathroom, or the way she had literally no reaction when Monokuma started throwing shade at Kaede and Rantaro right after the former's execution. I almost randomly had a feeling, in the aftermath of that first trial, when she said something about how she felt like she was going crazy, that she was the one behind it all. I can't explain why, or how, it was just this little feeling of distrust. She didn't seem genuine with her words, and throughout the entire game (though I quickly lost any and all interest in her) she continued making such remarks while also doing nothing to help the other students or get involved in any murders. Her blandness worked in her favor, as no one even remembered to suspect her, but it makes her painfully obvious in hindsight. She'd just pipe in randomly all like, "Oh, well X person couldn't have done that! They're so nice and sweet! Why is this happening?" A someone who's had some disingenuous friends and as someone who thinks twice before trusting someone else, Tsumugi was all red flags. I wasn't shocked so much as I was upset that she was the mastermind, because I wanted to believe in her but she was actually duping everyone the whole time. She was effective - there's no doubt about that - it's just that her way of startling you with her reveal leaves a lot to be desired from her as a person, not as a mastermind.

I don’t think I’d change anything, but I would really like if somehow Rantaro made it to the end….again lol. Maybe somehow, someone else went to the library and fell into Kaede’s trap before Rantaro could go check out the secret door. Ideally it’d be Tenko, allowing Himiko to take her place as the chapter 3 victim. Rantaro could maybe get closer to Shuichi in the following chapters and eventually reveal the whole survivor perk thing. It might also be interesting if he made it to the end of another killing game and Tsumugi plays a clip of him sacrificing himself in the last game. But, Rantaro is literally my favorite character in the whole series, so I am severely biased. I know this would be a stretch though, so even though I’m sad he got killed off first, it was kind of important to the story. But, having him survive would be epic, the dude would have survived two damn killing games. He might as well be the ultimate lucky student at that point. But yeah, wish he would have been around longer.

What if Kork asked Kirumi to help him? Or better yet, she walked in on his plans and, having snapped, agreed to be a cleanup crew for him?
Her being the ultimate Maid, she’d be perfect to clean up his messes, maybe setting up the scene with Angie for him after the kill and potentially finishing Tenko off from under the floorboards if if the plan didn’t end her fast enough for her not to potentially scream or tattle or something? She wouldn’t be the killer for the first one, so if she needed to kill Tenko, she could- thus ensuring her continued life such not to die in the killing game and whittled down the cast more so the last few would be easier to kill and get away with so she could escape

For me, it's just chapter 5 I would fix.
I think that Maki should have been the culprit. Why, I hear you ask? Because, I feel like it would have been better for Kaito's character. That man NEVER cried, EVER. Before kokichi died, kaito told Maki to "just survive"(this is just me inferring) maybe meaning that he didn't care who had to die so she could survive. He cared about Maki a lot, making a much bigger impact on everyone if she was the culprit. And I feel like kaito would try to steer the suspension away from Maki, and towards himself. So this is how it would play out. Kaito would still be trapped in the hanger. Maki would try to kill kokichi. But before she dealt the finishing blow, kaito would shove the crossbow out of Maki's hands. Kokichi would try to pick it up, but Maki would throw a knife into his hand, pinning him to the wall. She picked up the crossbow again, and while kokichi was teasing both of them, Maki shot him in the head, Killing him instantly. While kaito panics, Maki stays calm, she knows she'll die, and she's fine with that. Kaito on the other hand is like, "If one more person walks in here, the body discovery annocement, will play." He doesn't want her to be culprit, but kokichi is already dead. Maki tries to help kaito leave, but he insists on staying. So then he starts tampering with the crime scene, making him look like the culprit. In the trial he plays dumb to knowing the culprit, and almost gets away with it, but Maki intervenes. Saying that SHE killed kokichi, and Katio must have tried to take the blame. She doesn't understand why tho. So the vote goes on, and Maki is ruled guilty. So the post trial is Katio just breaking down, asking Maki why she hated kokichi so much. Why she couldn't let him live, she doesn't say anything. Everyone is in shock, no one can manage to say anything. Maki finally asks why he tried to take the blame, why he was so desperate to frame himself. He responded saying he just wanted her to survive, no matter what it took. Because he cared about her, he didn't want her to die. Nobody was expecting what he said, especially Maki. By the end, everyone was crying, including Maki. After the execution, no one said anything. They all just stood in silence. (the whole virus thing isn't there bc I want katio to survive)
Ok so, this makes the survivors, Shuiuchi, Himiko and Katio. I just feel this makes ch.5 more impactful then it already is. This was like a whole essay, sorry.

The reason why I included Kaede it's because she's a bit underrated. Many people hated her because of her personality. And it wasn't really true that she killed Rantaro since Smoogi framed her. Also stop making hanging jokes because it's really sick.
Also people hated her because she was a mary sue. If you watched Weeby Newz's Kaede character analyze, you'll understand that she's not a mary sue.
And Shuichi should've stopped her murder plan to prevent her from getting mistakenly executed her.

Underrated characters are for example, Impostor and Mahiru.

Something I thought of while doing a V3 rp was that they had the perfect opportunity to resurrect Kirumi; the Necronomicon in chapter 3. Most of them rightfully felt bad about convicting Kirumi as the culprit, so their reasoning for resurrecting her is pretty valid. I think Kokichi would object and offer Rantaro to interrogate him for information, because he clearly knew something the rest didn’t even if he wasn’t the mastermind. In this though, the ritual actually works, and after the trial, Kirumi comes back. My interpretation of the Necronomicon was that they would take a sort of stunt double, give them plastic surgery, slap a memory light on that brain and send them into the school. Tsumugi still gets to be natural, Kirumi still gets her trial, and we could go into an identity crisis and explanation of the Necronomicon. Honestly I was ticked they never discussed it.
