One thing I really liked about Creed II is how it made Ivan and Viktor Drago three-dimensional and sympathetic antagonists. And the boxing matches were really well done. The theater where I was watching REALLY got into it, complete with loud cheering.

For sure. They could have made them stereotypical villains like they did with Ivan in Rocky IV, but they didn't, and the movie is so much better for it. I especially love the facial expressions in the second fight, all culminating in Ivan throwing in the towel to protect his son. Then he even hugs his son and sticks with him instead of abandoning him like everyone else and like everyone abandoning him all those years ago.

Again turning a villain into a human, because Americans will not accept that some people (e.g. millionaires, politicians) are narcissistic sociopaths, and they want to believe that they are really softeys under it all. Apollo was a narcissist, and Adonis isn't. And that's why his character lacks the smooth charm and cultivated charisma of his father. I'd say both actors played their characters extremely well, even though the characters were very different.

That would make Adonis too old then. Remember, the Rocky franchise goes back to like 76. Stallone is in his mid 70s now. That would put Adonis in his late 30s early 40s if he was a premarital baby.

I don't know why people are so down on this... we're HUMAN BEINGS. We're not fucking perfect. It's worth remembering that Apollo bullied Rocky into doing a re-match with him in Rocky 2. He became good friends with Rocky and his family, but he had his own flaws. It's not beyond fathoming that he let his own fame/ego get to him, and gave in to a hot babe while he was touring.

@6:45 the 1st 2 Creed movies really keep hammering this idea that Rocky froze up and thats why Apollo died and its just NOT. Yeah he froze up but the bell kept ringing and the ref even jumped in and Drago tossed him aside so towel or not Drago was gonna kill him anyway. In fact he probably should have been charged with manslaughter.
