An excellent tribute to this Hungarian Portrait Painter! He undertook one of the most difficult tasks for a portrait artist---flattering his female sitters; they are the most critical of the manner in which they are portrayed. While male siitters allow for some discrepencies in their lack of 'handsome' features, the woman is the most critical of all! De László 'pandied to' his female sitters and flattered them. It is no wonder the man 'petered out' before he was 70 years old; he literally 'burnt up' all his creative energies in the process of depicting 'non-essential' things like drapery and costume, when he should have devoted himseld entirely to converying the likeness and features of his sitters! That said, this video is a complementary tribute to the artist!
