You were already a great band! You guys didn't need Rick Ruben! I went to one of your shows in Raleigh in 2008 and again in 2009 and the audience had multiplied by 10 in 1 year. I went to another show later that year and, not to my surprise, the audience multiplied again. Not only that but everyone was singing along, cheering, and basically demanding encores. I know that bands change over time and evolve but y'all were doing perfectly fine way before Ruben stepped in. For example, Mignonette is far superior to I and Love and You, by leaps and bounds. You newer fans out there owe it to yourselves to listen to it, if you haven't already...along with everything else pre Rick Ruben. I'm not the person in the photo btw. I'm her boyfriend.
