As a Canadian, I find it fascinating how music like this can unite an entire ethnic group (the Shona people) and connect them to the spiritual world. Those high notes that Jenny made sounded so ethereal and she sang them with passion. RIP Jenny Muchumi June 9, 1950 - 2010/2011 RIP Cosmas Magaya October 5, 1953 - July 10, 2020
I agree it gives you a special feeling, my anxiety disappear for the duration I listen to the beautiful mbira sounding like raindrops and the shona chants healing and I have no idea what the song is about
Listening to this music while out here in the diaspora and the homely feeling is just but great. This is where we came from before the current contamination of our culture. So soothing. Give us some more.
So wonderful that we can share in this expression of deep feeling and togetherness. Thank you, Melissa. Blessings to the spirits of Ambuya Jenny and Sekuru Magaya.
Cosmas Magaya, a great man. I'll remember him fondly. Tall, warm, with that huge smile, and his signature hats. Thanks for all the beautiful music, godspeed.
thanks you so much for your video. Muda is performing where i live tomorrow and this video representation from his father and others taught me how much force, magnatude, heart and soul is in their music they carry with them. A gift for sure to see the intertwining of father to son in such rich heritage.
I have been scanning for mbira songs uploads of late, I couldnt find any song better than this.. I think this is the best in terms of sound quality, pace, lyrics and naturality. I think producers out there are not doing enough to produce this Mbira music.
hw do i down this great stuff.i remember playing the song deeo in matabelelabd south and the rural folks mainly the war vets drew closer to my car. they bought beer like hameno.
