Thank you, I have been shopping for cobra water pump plier, and needed more of an explanation of the differences. Now that I have it I can add another Knipex tool to my tool kit.

Nice video. Although I do love American made and have Channellock tongue and gooove in every size except 480 I have also got several sizes of Knipex Cobras too. I also have a couple pair of Greenlee t and g pliers. Really can not pick a favorite. The Cobras are pretty sweet!

I have a matching pair of Alligators, the 88-01-250 and the 88-01-180. I didn’t even know about the Cobra or the comfort grip option, so am going to have to score one of those! Thanks for the review.

Good thorough break down homie I appreciate it, convinced me to go with the alligators i am a union Ironworker and use channel locks a lot so I am more used to that style plus it gets muddy and greasy out in the field so the gators seem more rugged as well

Good video to contrast the differences. I carry standard Cobras. Badass pliers! To me the greatest advantage over the Channelocks I carried for years is. The no pinch feature. Channelock could use a lesson on that.

Which do you like ? Quick set vs push button? I have the push button and plan to buy another 10” with comfort grips. I can get comfort grips in quick set or push button. It looked like the quick set slipped on you during adjustment. Has me concerned if they will happen one too many times. Saw another review of older discontinued quick set (blue button) where they slipped often during adjustment

@@OneToolAWeekGuy - to explain: I was in the market to get some Cobras, but was super puzzled by quickset function, as I couldn’t find anywhere explaining quickset function or the difference between the ones in the middle and the left ones with quickset function. That’s how I came across your video and was thinking others could also. But first 9 minutes are about attributes that I already knew, so I wanted to point out that most useful part about differences starts after 7 minutes and quickset function (that brought me here) is actually explained at 9:28. Knipex website is sometimes very poor when comes to explaining differences between the tools inside of same line.

Germany has been kicking America’s ass with any thing machinery. It’s horrible to use this analogy, but WW2 is an awesome example. The tanks, the weapons, radios, and submarines (u-boats). One of the main reasons why Germany ended up losing the war was because of lack of production and materials. They had everything built with immense quality and precision, just took to much time, money, and not enough materials to produce a massive scale. Sorry I went off of the point of the video, but anything German made is usually of a high quality and never personally let me down.Knipex and H&K weapons are some of the things I really enjoy in life. I also love Klein tools as well. 😂😂😂🤙🤙🤙

Alligator is the way to go. Much, much easier to adjust one-handed. More rugged (the push button can pop off the cobras), and the alligator is usually cheaper, often up to $10 cheaper. 180mm or under, I guess the Cobras are of since you're likely working with small stuff, might need more adjustment.
