- This is a proof of concept video, showcasing what would it look like if the American English dub was based on the original Japanese version with no scenes removed, no SFX or music altered. And no DigiRap. The edit was made by me using audio separation libraries.

Woah, their voices and the japanese ost managed to fit so well.
Reminds me of when Funimation release their dub of Dragon Ball Z with the original Japanese music. It sounded so much better having actual orchestral music and not an obnoxious synth score

I would've loved for them to make an uncut dub with original cast. Sadly Michael Lindsay and more recently Philece Sampler have passed away. 😞
Maybe if we get a new cast for an English dub of the reboot they might go back and dub the older serials, since it won't be for TV they wouldn't need censorship and could keep the original OST.

Same here. Philece not only did Mimi Tachikawa, Cody and Catherine's voice, she was also Taeko Minazuki from Ai Yori Aoshi. Three of them were some of my favorite Female Anime Characters. 😔
@@radioactivebirdj.1845 I mean that’s not too way off . Sailor Moon got a reboot series with a brand new cast and they went back to dubbing the original series too

I still love the American dub music haha, but to have ALL the unedited scenes back in would be the best
We're getting uncut English re-dubs of the first three films, used for Digimon: The Movie. So, it's not too farfetched. You basically forshadowed it. XD

the closest we have to this is the filippino english dub (not the best dub, but at least is uncut and have the original scenes/soundtrack)

So just to be clear, you use "audio separation libraries to get the English dub without the the dub's background music or sound effects. May I ask, is there a software that you were able to it or was it just your strong editing?
Yes, there are software libraries that use AI to separate the parts of the audio. I used Ultimate Vocal Remover and Spleeter both for English and Japanese audio. And after that, the English Vocal track and the Japanese music+sfx track was mixed the traditional way in Magix Vegas Pro.

@@digimusicmon6732 I think the Americans deserve a good version of Digimon as well. I think it would be really great if you could create that version (English dub and original music) for all episodes, especially for Season 1 and 2, if you are really passionate about it and if it isn't too much work for you to do. Maybe other people could help you with that project? Unfortunatly I don't know anything about editing videos like that, but maybe there are people being passionate about it and wanting to help.
Kinda nuts how much changes with the original soundtrack.
The only thing they’d need changing is the dialogue, which honestly, needs to be re-recorded to avoid the cheesey lines. That said, this video shows great potential in that direction. It’s sort of a missed opportunity. They could have included a new dub for the entire series with the Jp Blu-Ray release. They’re doing it with the movies as we speak.
I don't mind the original Japanese music but I still love and prefer the Digi rap from the English dub
What you did is quite impressive!! But with those awful jokes everywhere, I think the english dub is beyond salvation.
That's my opinion, too. We can replace that generic dub music but overwriting dialogues is what it would really need. Guess if I want to watch Adventure in English, I stick with the Filipino English dub because it is based on the original.

I think there's a lot of moments in this show where the english dub added dialogue where there previously wasn't any. At the very least those moments could be cut, but that doesn't save us from the endless barrage of awful puns and dad jokes inserted into every moment they could manage. The best thing that could happen to this series is if they redubbed it more faithfully with most of the original VAs but with the reboot out that's not likely to happen.

I'm curious about how you did it to save the music and SFX of the original so clean :o
Hi! Wow, what a great and ambitious project! My answer for your question is simple. Install Ultimate Vocal Remover (and/or Spleeter) and it'll generate 2 tracks from the stereo source audio: 1 with vocals and dialogues only, 1 with music and sfx. The tricky part is that is also removes the singing from the insert songs, too. So you need to edit those back somehow. Also note that these programs are very CPU/GPU intensive, so you'll need a decent mid-tier computer. Contact me if you need more help on that.

I was doing a very weird work using the Finnish version of Digimon to try and isolate the original SFX, it’s crazy but it works most of the time xD

I'd definitely recommend this kind of approach when editing a dub. Now, that these tools are available for free why not use them? It took 1 hour for Ultimate Vocal Remover to separate the English track, the Japanese track, the Brave Heart song + the editing was done in an hour in Magix Vegas (of course the stupid US dub had to have a lot of scenes shortened and cut to make this editing more difficult than it should be). So, after 2 hours, I was done with the full episode audio cut. I just can't think how many days would it be if I had to use the "classic" method: to recreate the sfx and music track from scratch. Plus, it wouldn't be possible to recreate it perfectly because of the unreleased songs.

@Rod sil I wrote about this upload in the description. This is the first time ever the American English dub was mixed to an uncut, Japanese version (I think). Now the technology makes us available to restore the modifications in the English dub, and make the English dub as close to the original Japanese version as possible. With the proper tools and editing skills, anyone can do it.

I'm writing from Italy. I've always liked to watch Digimon in English but the American songs kinda ruined everything (not to mention Citramon in Data Squad). Glad they made the right choice with Tri and Kizuna. I really really hope you "fix" the whole serie, 'cause Digimon is only great the way you made this episode!!!

Can we get a SFX-only track with the audio separation libraries?
Install Ultimate Vocal Remover and run through the Japanese audio track from the DVD. Anyone can do it.
One thing to note that it also removes the singing from any songs, so you have to put those back somehow. In case of Brave Heart, I extracted the vocal track from the Brave Heart Audio CD track and mixed it to the episode audio.

This is funny cuz I tried to take the audio from Digimon Last Evolution and replace it with Less Than Jake style music like the dub of the original movie lol,

Meh, I prefer the music for the English dub.
Really wish they redub this with the original script n all. The original English dub is just pure cringe.
I never like the English dub of Digimon since the cut A LOT from the original Japanese script and they put silly jokes all the time that gets annoying quick and dumb sound effects to make it sound too cartoon like.
My only option to enjoy watching Digimon is by watching it in another language dubbed and sub.
