I lived in Mission Viejo in the 80s. Laguna Beach and Dana Point were these secret places to us. We could go down there and have a strip of beach to ourselves, just a handful of us. There were lots of people further down in San Clemente but they were all kids like us. Hanging out, smoking herb, boogie boarding, surfing, eating cheap 7-Eleven hot dogs and downing Slurpee's. That strip of beaches was like our church and we revered it. I had an awesome adolescents. This looks horrific and I couldn't imagine. No wonder the residents are getting ticked. It has to be 4-5 million to live there, at least (maybe more now) and then to have to look out at all that garbage and people packing the beach. Eww.
I went to Laguna once this summer. Let me tell you I picked up everything that was mine took it with me, didn't leave anything didn't trash anything. I respect nature as much as possible even when I go on hikes because I don't leave anything behind because we shouldn't be trashing things its rude and can effect the natural ecosystem
I went there in 2010 one hot 2:00 summer day-from another city in OC- my buddy and I were the only American born people on the beach. Every nation was there. Most just left their trash from that day right in the sand . Just like they did at their home country. Just saying- UA-cam immigrants in the EU- This is your future California. I left in 2018 - took the cash and never will come back. California coast will never be the same - and will only continue to get trashed .
I remember 2 years ago ppl on tiktok saying “TAKE UP SPACE!! Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t be at a public beach!!” Referring to going to beaches like Laguna. Some expressed feeling out of place because most residents in Laguna are wealthy and they’re not but they were encouraged to show up anyway. The problem is a lot of people who grow up in poverty aren’t usually taught to be clean and organized. And others probably littered on purpose out of jealousy and hatred. I do believe some beaches should be private. I don’t live in Laguna and I’m not rich by any means but I feel bad for Laguna beach residents who used their hard earned money to buy their dream home by the beach only to see trash everywhere.
You just know it's all out of towners too. Loclas actually do clean up after themselves or will simply take only what we need. Hell i remember beaches in the 80s/90s being virtually trash free. Sure there was the occasional bottle/bottle cap found but now; just wear shoes on the beach with thick souls; trust me
This is why people that live there get sick of people that show up and use the beach because they’re so disrespectful. They leave their trash. They play their music super loud because they have no skin in the game.
Read between the lines. They want to charge fees to going to beach to ‘ help cleanup’. Also how much trash did you see in the background as reporter is reporting in the beach. Did they mention if trash is overflowing in the trash bin that provided? Having one guy picking up trash isn’t a data point. Having how report how full the bins are over the summer would be if the complaint is true. Sound like the actual complaint is too many people so they should charge?
I live here and yes the trash bins are overflowing before 12 every day. We pick up trash and it’s usually food/drink containers people just leave in the sand, and/or dirty diapers.
I’ve seen a lot of out of state license plates this spring/summer, they trash talk CA, but still come for vacation. They need to pick up their trash and take it home with them.
And how much does the city & the local businesses benefit through increased revenue $$$$$ from more visitors? Visitors also spend money on gas, parking, food, etc. to stimulate the local economy! Not mentioned in the clip.
Most are day trippers not stimulating local economy...hogging free parking, bringing own food (not eating at local restaurants), not staying at local hotels, and not picking up their trash per oc register article yesterday.
Their should require visitors to purchase a ticket anytime they want to enter the beach, this would pay for all the trash that the slobs leave behind. Make it expensive so that less people come.
Don’t tell the people to “treat the beach as if it’s their own”!!!! These people’s houses, and cars are TRASHED too!!!

@@themarathoncontinues2289.......yes, a country of a better class of people. Most definitely.
aren't you from one too? bet you're not even in the right hemisphere buddy.
So the lady from yesterday was right!!!!
Not to condone her behavior, but after seeing this video, I can only imagine how irked the residents probably are with the amount of people who don't give a damn and leave trash everywhere. She probably had enough and just caved in at that moment.
I would trash the beach just to annoy the Karens living there.
@@lok777 Well that says a lot about your family, your moral and your values. Go head put it on display in real life.
@@chadseemiller905Screaming at a family with small kids is never justifiable .
If she hates the littering so much then maybe she should go through the proper channels with her local HOA and city rep to get that beach to be considered as private property but oh wait....... she doesn't want to pay more in order to be responsible for that beach, or higher property taxes, or higher home insurance .
There's alot that comes with private beaches...................
She'd rather scare random children on the beach instead of getting the mental help she clearly needs .
@@chadseemiller905 Laguna Beach resident here. Beach is for everyone, but good lord the summer crowds and their litter make me question that.
The local government needs to enforce littering and massive PR campaigns to educate and discourage about littering
Growing up in Orange County in the late 1960s and early 1980s, I always cherished Laguna Beach like a treasure. How sad that others are now treating it like a garbage Dumpster. Very sad!
Instagram and TikTok really destroyed this place. It was such a gem until a few years ago.
Instagram and Tik Tok destroyed alot of things
That beach looks like a homeless encampment!
I live in Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach has never been this dirty
Littering is despicable.
They’re definitely coming from corona and LA

No plastic on the beach, no chips, soda cans. No 1 use containers, recycle containers only. Have hefty fines to pay for the cleanup

Re-usable containers only. No more plastic allowed on the beach

Of course "they" are coming here to trash our beaches. Not to escape cartel violence.
Now you know how us Hawaii locals feel.
Do tourists there leave trash behind?
@@richatlarge462They leave tourist dollars behind.

Can't believe they do this in Hawaii as well. Total disrespect for such a beautiful place. So sorry to hear this.
There goes the neighborhood!
Hung out here during the '60-70's. It was so cool and laid back. Went back in 2015 and the serenity was gone. What a drag.
Why would he dump the trash out like that? Smh
I love Laguna Beach! Every time I went there it was so clean and beautiful. I hope it doesn't turn into a dump.
No respect
Open borders have consequences
Agreed. Let’s close the California voters to red state visitors.
And close red states from California movers.
Open borders are the reason you and your family are here.
That was my first thought!!
Laguna Beach is as blue as the Pacific Ocean
Keep it clean please ❤
why don't they beach combs like they do in Other beaches like Huntington beach?
it comes the sand getting rid of trash.
some beaches have ppl combing the beach with hand pulled combs
here's a simple idea, a sign saying $2000 fine for litering. that way with all the money raised from tickets, can hire people to clean the beach.
Eww.
I lived in El Toro in the 80s. Great times!!

That shows how they live at home , trash all over the house
That's how it is lol....tourist crash cities everyday
I went there in 2010 one hot 2:00 summer day-from another city in OC- my buddy and I were the only American born people on the beach. Every nation was there. Most just left their trash from that day right in the sand .
Just like they did at their home country.
Just saying-
UA-cam immigrants in the EU-
This is your future California.
Orange county the new LA
i always look forward to your videos, they’re enlightening!
I use to live there and would pick up trash at aliso when we had bon fires
that is a crazy amount of rescues!!!
And on behalf of all metal detectorists out there… STOP BURYING YOUR BEER CANS!!!
😂 or just stop littering
It’s kinda like we do to other countries, when we ship all our plastic trash overseas. Maybe we all need to stop consuming so much single use plastics
It’s not your beach. So at the end. People can come over if they want.
You just know it's all out of towners too. Loclas actually do clean up after themselves or will simply take only what we need. Hell i remember beaches in the 80s/90s being virtually trash free. Sure there was the occasional bottle/bottle cap found but now; just wear shoes on the beach with thick souls; trust me
Thanks Gavin.
Pick up your trash at any beach! It is so disrespectful. Be kind and have courtesy for mother nature.
This is why people that live there get sick of people that show up and use the beach because they’re so disrespectful. They leave their trash. They play their music super loud because they have no skin in the game.
Browns
Brown, white, yellow or black, the have one thing in common, there Americans
Go Cleveland!!!
What do you expect when all other SoCal beaches get poisoned and contaminated,??
Laguna beach getting ghetto!
Omg, those people are horrible.
Thank the lady who fenced off the beach putting Laguna Beach into the spot light.

Welcome to Joe Bama’s world. You voted for this now you got it. And you complain about it.
smh tired n old
And how much does the city & the local businesses benefit through increased revenue $$$$$ from more visitors? Visitors also spend money on gas, parking, food, etc. to stimulate the local economy! Not mentioned in the clip.
Most are day trippers not stimulating local economy...hogging free parking, bringing own food (not eating at local restaurants), not staying at local hotels, and not picking up their trash per oc register article yesterday.
Their should require visitors to purchase a ticket anytime they want to enter the beach, this would pay for all the trash that the slobs leave behind. Make it expensive so that less people come.
Open boarders... ?
