@chickencombo7563 In the middle of a light attack combo, you heavy attack right when you're about to be hit. If you time it right, you nullify the incoming damage and do a strong counter attack. The Yellow Loong transformation uses this mechanic to charge focus, which you can then use to do massive damage.
By the way, for those who haven’t gotten to this point yet if you choose to leave Scorpionlord’s jars alone, he will actually end up reappearing when you fight Duskveil, and you pretty much get to chill around for the entire first phase it’s pretty funny to watch them go at it

I had to watch the animated scene a couple of times to figure out what’s happening and I grew up watching the old 1986 tv series for journeys to the west. Like many have said, The piggie used to be a general watching over the river on the moon. He was pretty good looking but his thirst for girl is just crazy. One day he was following the lady you saw in the scene and caught her having a relationship with another dude. So they punished him and kicked him down to be a normal human so their affair wouldn’t get leaked to others. Anyhoo, it’s Bajei‘s first true love who actually loved him for who he is despite his hideous look. (He turns back into a pig whenever he tryna rizz a girl up. It’s a curse bestowed upon him by one of the buddhas). He blames wukong because he left everything for the journey. Part of him regrets it. But if the Buddha finds out he has a daughter with the spidy, they would have killed the daughter so he kept distance. Gg well play.

Yellow Loong lore! For those asking: Its complicated. But in a nutshell, its a domino effect situation. Ends justify the means. Gourd guy, AKA Yuan the signteller, is a fortune teller. He foresaw that it they tricked the dragon king of the rivers (the father of all these dragon brother bosses) into defying the celestial court, and therefore having him executed... They could get his ghost to blame and haunt a certain emperor for not saving him. Therefore, later, when they needed the Tang monk (Wukong's master on the journey to the west) to take the trip to retrieve the scriptures...this emperor would agree, thinking appealing to buddhism would save him from the old dragon king's ghost. The dragon king, who didnt really do anything evil, paved the road for this journey. His death was needed for this trip to happen, even though you could argue he was innocent. His sons, the 4 dragons you meet, fled in fear for their lives for what might happen to them. But...As Yuan said, destiny repeats itself. And its implied that they were destined to die by your hand, to strengthen you along your journey. Each one was basically told that if they killed you, the destined one, the sins of their father would be forgiven and they could return home. Alas, they repeated their father's fate. Longer additional details: 1. The yellow loong disguised himself by transforming into a pattern (yeah he can do that) on Yuan's clothes. Thats why he leaves Yuan's body after you defeat him. 2. What actually happened with the dragon king, is that he heard fishermen talking about how Yuan could see where the best fishing spots were. Worried that this would cause overfishing in his kingdom, he made a bet with Yuan disguised as a human. If Yuan could predict the next rain fall, time, date, and amount, he could stay. If not, he must leave the area. Of course, the bet is rigged. As dragon king, he controls the rain. But once he went home, he received a message from the Jade Emperor- the head of command basically in the celestial court- to follow Yuan's rain prediction. This pissed off the king of course, who decided to change the rainfall anyway, just slightly... But he still got in trouble for it, for defying heavenly decree. They ordered him executed. He pleaded with a different emperor on earth to distract the guy who was gonna kill him with a game of chess- During the chess game, the executioner basically astral projected in his sleep, and killed the dragon king anyway- Thus resulting in the king blaming that emperor for not saving him and stalling for time as promised!
The thing with yellow long is, he counters the resolute counterflow on smash stance, then in thrust stance, if he sees you charging the heavy attack, he will see through by dodging and making a counter attack. And don’t get me wrong all the stances work.

She wanted to be a pig and in Chinese pig and spider sounds the same and accidently transformed into the spider. That was from the journey of the West story. Bajie is hounded by the celestial court so he can't admit the daughter is his or she will get punished as well. Can't wait until u meet Erlang. Lol.
If I remember correctly, when the Violet Spider says "you haven't changed a bit, you fool", she means that Bajie chose the destined one instead of the love of his life once again. First time he chose Wukong over her

Yellow loong was hardest boss by far for me. Took me 50+ tries over 3 stints of fighting. I had him 1 shot like 10 times. Even last bosses only took me 10 or so tries
@@moisesramirez5242 ya got him in 10 or so I think I was underleveled for loong bc I went and finished the chapter then came back and got him in like 5 tries Erlang with the right strat isn't too bad. Used rock transform to break guard and armor and drink to get qi back to get the fan back

So Wukong where the main thing is just dodging was uncomfortable for me in the first place and then this Erlang mf with his stance bar and his ability to just dodge your focus attacks sometimes... nuh uh. That guy was for me personally the hardest boss i ever fought.

When wukong tried to kill her, bajie stops him and let her live. And so, the violet spider eat her own dead sisters to prolong her life so she waiting him to come back till this day.

I haven't seen any other streamers who mastered the essence of Yellow Loong transformation btw Wind Tamer can knock him out of his second phase if you shock him before he gets into the air,and even if you missed the chance, it stills provides 50% damage reduction to help you survive that phase so time it right!
So basically Bajie and the spider grandma were both originally deities from the heaven and they once developed feelings with each other. Some point later Bajie got cast out from the heaven due to some sort of crime. In Journey to the West universe if gods got banished they reincarnate into lesser beings (eg. humans or yaoguais), retaining their previous memories, and such is Bajie's fate, reborn as a pig and later got picked up by Wukong's gang as Tang Monk's second apprentice (Tang Monk, 唐僧 in Chinese, is the Master of Wukong), fighting against various yaoguais in order to protecting their master during the journey. The spider grandma on the other hand chose to abandon her godhood and follow Bajie, knowing fully the cost, only to reincarnate into a spider, which is the wrong type of animal (though reasonable as pigs and spiders can sound familiar in Chinese). During the OG journey the spider grandma fought Wukong and Bajie once, alongside of her spiderfolks, but got spared by the latter due to their connection back in the heaven, becoming the sole survivor of the spiders. After the journey (in-game timeline) Bajie reascended into godhood while the spider grandma remained a lesser yaoguai, now having her own brood and holding mixed feelings against Bajie due to him not staying with her and slaughtered her kin back in time, eagerly wishes to capture him for confrontation. Bajie knows clearly of this but choose to stay away, fearing of causing her harm as the binding between a god and a yaoguai is strictly forbidden by the heavens. It's sad to think that the two are destined to eventually part their ways despite the feelings they shared against each other. PS: After Chapter 4 the spider grandma passed away and you can pick up a new curio in front of her gravestone.
Yellow loong is definitely the biggest wall at this point in the game. But once you get through it, you can clear everything until you hit the secret boss and final boss
for me the critical build and all upgrades on cloud step works for yellow loong, it was easy it deals alot of damage when you hold til 3rd focus on smash stance
It looks like you're about to finish this game. Here's a little tip: if you want to get the good ending, make sure to return to Chapter 3 after completing Chapter 5, the teleport name is The Great Pagoda. There's a hidden boss waiting for you, don't miss it.
Yellow wind sage was hard for you because you didn't use the item that cancel his wind attacks. I did him in two attempts, and i think you are better than me or equal.
Use charge lance, keep your distance so you barely hit him with charge 2 or 3, let go of the charge when he is about to do something, win fight against yellow loong easy. im not kidding, its ridiculous, he doesnt attack for like 5 seconds when you stay at medium distance letting you charge all you want
I got the game later than everyone it seems, waited for physical copy, this boss is actually easy. 1. eat default ginseng pills before engaging. 2. have a life saving pill, a enhanced ginseng pill. 3. use plantain fan to push the boss into the cave wall, summon clones, use wandering weight. 4. for the whole fight just use thrust charge focus to 2 bars, 3 if he takes too long to attack 5. never melee just spam hold triangle the whole fight and keep a far distance.
As you said people with arachnophobia in this game will have to cope or get good like afro senju did he beat the boss blind folded with guidens from his ffiends although he took of the blindfold eventually and he beat the boss and ran for his life
if the scorpion lord is still alive when he fought the duskveil, he can help him defeat the first form of duskveil. but know that he will lose if you just leave him
Duskveil lore in a nutshell: He was the Dawnstar, a rooster that could demolish any bug. (Think flying > bug super effectiveness pokemon) Him and his Mom helped wukong in the original story, defeat this scorpion empress and the hundred eyed daoist centipede guy. The scorpion empress was the scorpion lord's wife. He was at the village, hoping to get revenge on the dawnstar- Who is now the duskveil, because after getting wukong's relic, the hundred eyed daoist centipede was able to defeat him- torture and experiment on him, until he became twisted like that. A fate worse than death, as the snake lady (Hong Yi) puts it. The strings coming from the sky, I'm not too sure about. According to some, it signifies the connection between purple cloud mountain and mount kunlun in the heavens. Like a jack and the beanstalk kind of situation. But without purple cloud mountain's original chinese name, it's hard for me to verify if this is true or not.

I beat yellow loong earlier today and was sooooo on the strat with ring of fire and heavy charged attacks and saving transformations for the tail end of the fight!
If you all have the Yin Tiger unlocked before this fight use it during the 2nd faze. He can deflect Yellow Loongs thrust attacks. Using cloud step and Yin tiger during that portion was the best way I found to beat him. Also Shawdow clones at the right time to jump him.
In the Animation, Bajie found the Moon goddess (or someone else related to her?) have an affair with the Jade Emperor, they banish Bajie down to the mortal realm. He was born normal first and married the the girl he chase in the clothes dry rack (you can see it in him in a wedding outfit suggest he married) but the curse became stronger and transform him in to a Pig/boar monster and make his wife scare of him. He found the Heaven Maid that he see back in the day of the court and they ..... but during that the sister of Bajie's girl want to kill and eat his Sifu so Wukong and Bajie have to kill all the Spiders yaoquai but Bajie left her alone, he think of a family with her but being on the journey meant he will never be with her (cuz he a monk) so he left with Wukong and the gang. {Sorry for my poor English, its my 3rd language}
If you left scorpion lord alone he would help in the first phase of duskveil, commenting he is there to revenge his lady and gets auto killed in the 2nd phase. The sword that duskveil use in the 2nd phase is made from the tail of scorpion lord's lady.
Best part about the scorpion king isn’t how hard he is, it’s the fact that it’s completely optional and if u skip him he would help u fight duskveil lmao
Erlang should be a second or third try if he uses the fan. He's not bad at all. Yellow longs parry works wonders on him (since you can't be knocked out of your transformation if you parry.
40:35 the same thing was happening for me and when i would use my pellets and gourd i would same it 7 times and it the game still wouldnt let me use either item 😭
So when you tried to see through him and it didn’t work, is because he attacked with a heavy at the same time, with yellow long if you try to see through it he will deflect you, you have to hit him one more time and then see through, when he’s like actually about to hit you and it will work

Yellow long has his combos adding up towards the end, he reaches his most dangerous form when he’s dying.

In Journey to the West universe if gods got banished they reincarnate into lesser beings (eg. humans or yaoguais), retaining their previous memories, and such is Bajie's fate, reborn as a pig and later got picked up by Wukong's gang as Tang Monk's second apprentice (Tang Monk, 唐僧 in Chinese, is the Master of Wukong), fighting against various yaoguais in order to protecting their master during the journey.
The spider grandma on the other hand chose to abandon her godhood and follow Bajie, knowing fully the cost, only to reincarnate into a spider, which is the wrong type of animal (though reasonable as pigs and spiders can sound familiar in Chinese). During the OG journey the spider grandma fought Wukong and Bajie once, alongside of her spiderfolks, but got spared by the latter due to their connection back in the heaven, becoming the sole survivor of the spiders. After the journey (in-game timeline) Bajie reascended into godhood while the spider grandma remained a lesser yaoguai, now having her own brood and holding mixed feelings against Bajie due to him not staying with her and slaughtered her kin back in time, eagerly wishes to capture him for confrontation. Bajie knows clearly of this but choose to stay away, fearing of causing her harm as the binding between a god and a yaoguai is strictly forbidden by the heavens.
It's sad to think that the two are destined to eventually part their ways despite the feelings they shared against each other.
PS: After Chapter 4 the spider grandma passed away and you can pick up a new curio in front of her gravestone.

Yellow loong is definitely the biggest wall at this point in the game. But once you get through it, you can clear everything until you hit the secret boss and final boss

For me I found the smash stance worked way better for him. It deals more damage also. On my build at least.
for me the critical build and all upgrades on cloud step works for yellow loong, it was easy it deals alot of damage when you hold til 3rd focus on smash stance

It looks like you're about to finish this game. Here's a little tip: if you want to get the good ending, make sure to return to Chapter 3 after completing Chapter 5, the teleport name is The Great Pagoda. There's a hidden boss waiting for you, don't miss it.
The bird thing had missing health because the scorpion king guy mid way in the fight does a brawl and you can just watch

Fireproof Mantel using for Fire Boss , Wind Tamers using for Boss that can fly or using tornado, Needle use to fly around attack multiple bosses.
Use charge lance, keep your distance so you barely hit him with charge 2 or 3, let go of the charge when he is about to do something, win fight against yellow loong easy.
im not kidding, its ridiculous, he doesnt attack for like 5 seconds when you stay at medium distance letting you charge all you want

I got the game later than everyone it seems, waited for physical copy, this boss is actually easy.
1. eat default ginseng pills before engaging. 2. have a life saving pill, a enhanced ginseng pill.
3. use plantain fan to push the boss into the cave wall, summon clones, use wandering weight.
4. for the whole fight just use thrust charge focus to 2 bars, 3 if he takes too long to attack
5. never melee just spam hold triangle the whole fight and keep a far distance.

Duskveil lore in a nutshell:

The scorpion empress was the scorpion lord's wife. He was at the village, hoping to get revenge on the dawnstar-
Who is now the duskveil, because after getting wukong's relic, the hundred eyed daoist centipede was able to defeat him- torture and experiment on him, until he became twisted like that. A fate worse than death, as the snake lady (Hong Yi) puts it.
The strings coming from the sky, I'm not too sure about. According to some, it signifies the connection between purple cloud mountain and mount kunlun in the heavens. Like a jack and the beanstalk kind of situation.
But without purple cloud mountain's original chinese name, it's hard for me to verify if this is true or not.

If you all have the Yin Tiger unlocked before this fight use it during the 2nd faze. He can deflect Yellow Loongs thrust attacks. Using cloud step and Yin tiger during that portion was the best way I found to beat him. Also Shawdow clones at the right time to jump him.
In the Animation, Bajie found the Moon goddess (or someone else related to her?) have an affair with the Jade Emperor, they banish Bajie down to the mortal realm. He was born normal first and married the the girl he chase in the clothes dry rack (you can see it in him in a wedding outfit suggest he married) but the curse became stronger and transform him in to a Pig/boar monster and make his wife scare of him. He found the Heaven Maid that he see back in the day of the court and they ..... but during that the sister of Bajie's girl want to kill and eat his Sifu so Wukong and Bajie have to kill all the Spiders yaoquai but Bajie left her alone, he think of a family with her but being on the journey meant he will never be with her (cuz he a monk) so he left with Wukong and the gang. {Sorry for my poor English, its my 3rd language}

If you left scorpion lord alone he would help in the first phase of duskveil, commenting he is there to revenge his lady and gets auto killed in the 2nd phase. The sword that duskveil use in the 2nd phase is made from the tail of scorpion lord's lady.

Erlang should be a second or third try if he uses the fan. He's not bad at all. Yellow longs parry works wonders on him (since you can't be knocked out of your transformation if you parry.

So when you tried to see through him and it didn’t work, is because he attacked with a heavy at the same time, with yellow long if you try to see through it he will deflect you, you have to hit him one more time and then see through, when he’s like actually about to hit you and it will work
