Patti, you really do get better with the passing years. You're still hitting those notes with such ease, like you're casually.... painting your nails or somethin' ! ! (I once saw Dionne in 1979 sitting by a grand piano w/Barry Manilow painting her nails as she sang and that's where I got that from! :) I LOVE YOU! I HAVE all your stuff. YOU ARE A TREASURE! Maybe you can do 'The Carnaval" in a future show? :)
It's too funny. I love The Rippingtons ft Russ Freeman. I bought their album "Welcome To The Saint James Club" back in 1989 or 1990. It only took me 25 years later to realize that is was Patti Austin Singing and Whistling on their hit song "I Watched Her Walk Away"...25 years. I still laugh at that faux pas...how could I have not known...her voice is so distinct, I should have notice it right away but then again I was just a teenager back then...LOL
