Even in their later years they still have that magic.... Beautiful people with God given talent
Patti looks good!

I ❤this duet, them, Peabo Bryson,& Michael Macdonald!! This music 🎼 will never die or get old. Today my granddaughter was listening to songs that her father and uncles listened to with me growing up- Never thought I’d live to see this day, My great grandson I’ve turned into a Michael Jackson fan & he won’t shut up. He even like the Big Pay Back by the God Father of Soul, that’s being Blessed.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 4 generations and counting.
One of the Best duets of the 1980s. RIP James Ingram's.
Hell yes
For sure! I want this as my wedding song.😇🙂🙂🙂🙂
Yes they were
One of the greatest R&B duets of all time!!
Timeless treasure. RIP James Ingram.
Who is still listening to this beautiful music?
Woww. The voices was still there at that age. Beautiful. Who's listening in 2023.

Phantastisch! Phantastisch! I wished to hear such wonderful music today. Not possible!👍👍👍👍👍👼👼👼👼🥰🥰👍👍
Rod Temperton wrote some absolutely killer tracks.... Many people wouldn't even know who he was .... He also wrote Thriller for Michael Jackson.... There you go ... Genius composer who worked with premium vocalists like Patti and James 💙

So much soul in their voices...RIP James Ingram 💜
Anita Baker and James Ingram did it better.
His voice is so well preserved❤
I know he won all the big awards and such but still.....James Ingram is so underrated. One of the greatest voices of our time and an incredible songwriter.
He's far from underrated. There are hundreds of terrific singers who never get 1% of the kudos and exposure that James has received. Ingram has beaten the odds. One hit record is a RARITY in an industry where there is far more talent than jobs.
You missed the point. Also, he had more than one hit record.
MechanicalAnimal Yes! I know exactly what YOU'RE saying, & FTR, I'm a singer, songwriter, actor w/o the work or kudos. James work AFTER "The Dude" = quite incredible indeed. He is The MALE Soul Singer - . Etc etc etc! I GET YOU. ~K
Smooth and sexy wt love
Yeah. He's underrated among the top tier singers.
James Ingram is going to be missed by the whole world. His impact in the music industry and to people's lives just by listening to his songs makes the world a better place. Thank you James. We love you. Rest in peace.
Priceless performance. RIP James. Lost you too early. Patti Austin will always love your voice.
James Edward Ingram February 16, 1952 - January 29, 2019). RIP...great talent and gift.

August 1973 -- I was headed into the Air Force and a buddy of mine had a going-away pool party for me. His sister's friend, named Patti, came and belted out a couple of songs a cappella. Strong!! Right near the diving board, lol!!! She wasn't all that well known at the time but I could tell she WOULD be!
Hell of a send-off into the military!!! I stayed 23 years!! How many guys can say "Patti Austin sang at my going-away party!!"??? -- Retired MSgt, USAF.
Did you almost fall in love with her right there and then?
kolasom thank you so much for your service.

You're so right. So many different hits it makes me want to really know more about him.

Uh-huh . Romance always looks easy , when you listen to these two .
I can name just a handful of people that still sound and look amazing and here is 2 of them
"Baby, Come to Me" is a classic love ballad written by Rod Temperton (formerly of Heatwave) and sung in duet by Patti Austin and James Ingram.
The original version, performed by Patti Austin and James Ingram (with Michael McDonald contributing background vocals), and produced by Quincy Jones, appears on Austin's 1981 album, Every Home Should Have One. When first released as a single, it charted on the Billboard Hot 100 for just 4 weeks from April 24 through May 15 - peaking at No. 73 on May 8th. It did, however, reach number 11 in the UK.
Rest in Peace, James.
I loved this song when it came out in 1982? So beautiful, music today cannot hold a candle to this kind of music. RIP James Ingram, God only takes the BEST.

Auntie and Uncle just showing off and us loving it!

bless them both. This is real music and they give it all every time.
Simply Beautiful ! 👏
I love Patti Austin music! And sounds great with James Ingram! This is MUSIC!!!
I love Patti Austin and her songs! Ugh, can't get enough
Patti Austin doesn't fancy herself a pop star, but was one for that moment in time. Carl Anderson downplayed Friends and Lovers, his hit with Gloria Loring, in the same manner, as he considered himself a jazz singer more so than pop.
me too. I love her voice and his.
Don't leave
Patti and us all will sure miss u legend James Ingram. Sad u left early but am consoled with this Magical sound. RIP legend James
This makes me cry my eyes out! One of the best duets ever by two of the best singers ever. So sorry James is gone. RIP James. Such a great talent, gone too soon.
