We're people it's just we're all sharing 1 body because trauma made the brain not form one being in the body), it's much better. We're undertstanding of making them look different phsycially and not just in the headspace since it's a cartoon mainly aimed at people who wouldn't know what DID is but the whole deep inhale thing isn't needed since we already have different facial/physical signs on who's in front. Would be interesting to see their take on multiple being being in front at once and interacting though, not just talking to each other.

I get everyone is saying "well the target audience is kids who don't know what it is" But as someone with Osdd (not did so multiple personalities but no amnesia) let me tell you. I don't go through half of what someone with DID goes through but it is TERRIFYING. you have brain fog, Flashbacks, panic, emotional amnesia, intrusive thoughts and horrible visions at times, sometimes my parts would leave horrible messages and I thought I was writing them and then I didn't know who was thinking what, Identity crisis, and they never attack others but God do they hurt me especially persecutors and working with them. Switches are very subtle a lot of times and sometimes one doesnt even know whos fronting. It's extremely difficult to find treatment and to further matters you have shows like this playing it because it's funny for kids. I watched this when it came out and was entertained but also I knew I had something and was struggling with my own part at the time. And watching this was funny but also so hurtful because I had no idea how to be like this and happy like them. I just don't think DID should be portrayed in kids shows. No one does it right, and to worsen matters 95% of Hollywood movies w did in the adult world are either comedy or the evil alter trope. It just sucks. Eventually this is why finding treatment and actually getting specialists to take one seriously even after years of being diagnosed. Sucks. It's not like this at all..

People generally have a lot of different opinions! As someone with DID, I personally really liked him in TDROTI. They definitely made some mistakes, the gasps are annoying and some parts are played up for entertainment a bit too much, but it's actually not bad, and I'd say is a pretty nice way of introducing kids to the idea of DID. It shows how alters can have different genders, ages, interests, behaviour, relationships, etc, and the way they show how each alter interacts with each other (and other people) is pretty realistic (Vito and Mike having different romantic interests, for example). It showed the effect of amnesia in a lighthearted way, which is kind of refreshing, since it can be so difficult to deal with in real life. It was unfortunately realistic how Scott took advantage of Mike and used his DID to manipulate him, though the show was pretty clear that Scott was in the wrong for doing that. The whole "fighting for control" part was pretty dumb, but Zoe's comment ("multiples just means there's more Mike to love") was absolutely adorable and a really sweet ending to Mike's arc in the season TDAS, on the other hand, was awful. They played into the very harmful stereotype that people with DID have an "evil alter" who is dangerous and violent, which is not true (people with DID are much more likely to be the victim of abuse than the perpetrator). The whole argument over who was the "original" was meaningless because there is no "original" in DID. The entire issue of the button was ridiculous, if they were trying to make a metaphor for how DID can be integrated and 'healed' that was the wrong way to do it, because that requires years of therapy, processing trauma and learning to accept every alter for who they are. You can't reset your brain and if they did, Mike wouldn't exist either, because he's an alter like the rest of them. You can't get rid of any alters and you can't just get rid of a disorder by pressing a button, and doing so is a disservice to his entire storyline of learning to cooperate with his alters and accept himself (and be accepted by others) for who he is.

If you really think about it, without the gasps considering how Mal is a unexpected personality for Mike, this would have fit easily considering the sudden switch from being himself to being evil Mal when people are not looking.

Mike and Zoey are S tier, they are great characters and I love the moments they have together (Also both are hilarious, mainly when they break character and just go savage on everyone, Mike roasting Jo and Scott was unjustly ignored, oh well Commando Zoey is still awesome.)
