Crossplatform miiverse would serve as its own extremely effective marketing for switch 2. Think about all the customers who will be on the fence about buying a switch 2. If they see their friends posting all these amazing screenshots and videos of switch 2 exclusives on miiverse, they're gonna want to upgrade.

He hasn’t really done anything to make a fuss over or anything you couldn’t pin on any other number of rich people they’re loosely associated with. The real reason they might want Miiverse as an alternative would be to avoid _paying_ to use Twitter’s API to share images/videos, which is why all the consoles stopped supporting it. It was no longer free. Perhaps over the years, these companies found that while the “pitch” to sharing on social media is “advertising to untapped/unaware markets”, that it never actually panned out in sales. So any cost wasn’t worth it. Although while I think a new Miiverse would be cool, I don’t know the benefit of that either. I don’t think people are going to be made aware of new games anymore than they would with the Switch “News” tab. And with something like Miiverse, it costs them money to host and moderate. Unless they take out commenting altogether and you can only post images/videos. But you’d still need some moderation for that too.

It will probably just be a service, could absolutely be a miiverse-like app. I remember there was a Nintendo trademark half a year ago or so, about an interactive screen, people speculated it was a switch 2 thing, like an interactive screen on the switch 2 dock… This was likely just the alarm clock.

While I would love StreetPass to come back, I think it’s one of the least likely scenarios based on the information we have so far. The playtest is limited to 10,000 ppl worldwide, so the chances of running into another playtester in person to test that functionality is super low. Also don’t see any reason why TV mode and a wired connection would be necessary or optimal for testing a streetpass feature.
There is no need to have such a "play test" just to release a new console to the NSO service. It does make more sense that it be a streaming service app that may allow us to stream games we already own on our primary Switch (or soon Switch 2 consoles) to our secondary Switch or Switch Lite. So for example, If i have a Switch 2, but wish to leave it home and take a Switch lite with me on my commute to work; I can still play Switch 2 games on my Switch lite via tethering to my phone or possibly play those games on my phone via a phone app; but as long as you have a NSO plus subscription. Or, it could be that function where a person who doesn't have the same multiplayer game that you have; could play and join with you; via this Switch App. I think it may be something along these lines.

I really doubt it's streaming because there's no reason to have a 2.2 gig download for that. Look at the file sizes of cloud versions of games, they're always like 20-30 MB. My guess is NSO DS just because the DS actually had online play with a bunch of people at once while all prior NSO consoles only had couch multiplayer. It'd make sense to test if you can have an 8 player Mario Kart DS over the NSO emulator without any problem. Gamecube doesn't make sense to me because it mostly wasn't an online console. Anyway, I got in so I'll see you in whatever this is, fellow Nintendo Playtester.

OR OR… Switch won’t actually get GC NSO. It’s a streaming test to test out the emulator (and where it cracks), but it’s only able to run on Switch 2.

No. GameCube games PHYSICALLY cannot work on Nintendo Switch without setbacks. Why? Two words. Analog. Triggers. The GameCube controller had a combination of both analog and digital triggers. The Switch Pro Controller uses digital only triggers. GameCube games would not work intentionally without having some bs workaround. This is most likely the reason GameCube games haven't made a comeback on both the Wii U and Switch. Wanna play GameCube games? Buy a Wii, mod it, and sail the seven seas 🏴☠️.

Testing backwards compatibility for the Switch 2 by streaming Switch Games and this is a stress test of the system.
They probably will do it on switch successor to be sure the games will run smoothly and not choppy and maybe also to showcase new hardware

No. GameCube games PHYSICALLY cannot work on Nintendo Switch without setbacks. Why?

Analog. Triggers.
The GameCube controller had a combination of both analog and digital triggers. The Switch Pro Controller uses digital only triggers. GameCube games would not work intentionally without having some bs workaround. This is most likely the reason GameCube games haven't made a comeback on both the Wii U and Switch.

In Mario Sunshine, you hold the trigger all the way down to stay in place while spraying while in 3d All Stars they have you hold R instead of ZR so it could work.@@totallynothunterYT
