    Rebuilding the engine is necessary evil.. but, in the case of serious racing you should always have a backup engine or 2 and heads in case of some type of anomaly.. also Titanium valve springs.. I notice that you use assembly lube on all of it.. most people I know dont.. and that is another problem.. also using the plastigauge properly and removing the material after gauging it.. you sir are a perfectionist.. and when it comes to building honda motors.. every bit of perfection makes it that much better.. I Delivered Pizza in a bone stock CRX HF.. low man on the totem pole.. all I did to it was put a cold air intake.. had the 4 speed.. I loved the shit out of it.. I love the Russian Rap music.. sounds way better than the rap coming out of the speaker now days like Tackashi and that b1tch with the WAP.. that aint wap its called discharge..

    Did you not have to break that rebuilt engine in before racing?

    • @BuiltNoTboughTdc2
      @BuiltNoTboughTdc2  4 роки тому +2

      I used to take it slow for the first 1,500 miles until I got a chance to inspect the wear on cylinder walls after the engine failed. Turns-out that even after 1,500 miles I could still see 45-degree marks from my 400-grit hone. I since stopped doing it since it takes more than 1,500 miles to complete the break-in. I don't have the time, nor the patience for it. I don't mind adding some oil once in a while. The turbine makes up for the lost compensation. Excessive crank case pressure gets relived through the the valve cover port which is connected to my exhaust. A so called venturi effect that is achieved by welding a slash cut to the exhaust. For the diluted oil from the by-pass products, I simply change it every few hundred miles anyway.

    • @HandsOnHatch6989
      @HandsOnHatch6989 4 роки тому +2

      Oh ok. Cool. I understand about having patience or lack there of when it comes to the break in process. Lol!!! Thanks for your reply and your honesty.

  • @RodzChris
    @RodzChris 4 роки тому

    Don't know much about cars but, would you have to break in the engine before really pushing it or no, really curious on that??

    • @BuiltNoTboughTdc2
      @BuiltNoTboughTdc2  4 роки тому +2

      Breaking in the engine is a manufacturer recommended procedure to achieve best results (better compression, reducing oil consumption/contamination, improving gas mileage, extending life of rubber seals and gaskets by minimizing engine blow-by, etc.). Ideally, I would love to perform it if I had the time. Lot's of time...
