Prolong told me when i asked them that i could almost be certain i would damage my Honda EH5 lithium cells if i attempted to charge them with their Prolong charger, the two types of batteries charge with completely different charging algorithms ...Hats off to u my friend!
Can you expand on the comminity tab where are you located in case I need a repair down the road. Also maybe selling or explaing the hook up between the 3rd gen prius prolong charger and the ioniq battery? Can this be done in the car? Awsome content
Have you tried using the Prolong Prius Discharger on this same pack or another equivalent lithium ion pack? I'm trying to replace some cells on a Kia Optima pack and was curious if you've ever attempted to discharge them.
Love the content. Just a suggestion, at the beginning of your videos the music is too loud, it is hard to hear what you are saying, could make the music quieter or maybe get a clip on mic?
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics Hi can you not charge invidual stacks , ie on the hyundai ioniq , 64 cells devided into 4 battery stacks which measure each approx 58v , they have 16cells in each probably, I was wondering if you could remove the bus bars and use a 60v lipo charger on the individual stack, tell me what you think, thanks .
Why are so many in the business reluctant to grid charge the LFP batteries? Millions of people charge them every day in cars, phones, power supplies, computers. But in a hybrid ist verboten?!? I can't find any problem in your logic that a simple charger with low current in the proper voltage range could do anything but add energy to the LFP battery in the least damaging mode of charge. Low and slow. ?? What booby trap am I missing? Certainly one has to keep in mind the dangers of connecting something to the HV battery and be careful about short, overcurrent protection etc. and how to avoid causing error codes if not connected or disconnected at the proper time. For example, one can not leave the charger connected to the Prius battery even if turned off or it will create an error code. It happened to me a couple of times til I realized this effect, but there was no harm in that case. On the other hand I did blow up a Maxx Volts charger when testing the output voltage at the connecting pins in the case which are only a couple millimeters apart. Zap, if you don't have hawk eyes you will short it out pin to pin. Don't be stupid as I was. But live and learn. I still want to grid charge my new LFP battery pack and will continue to study. This video shows we need not believe this to be impossible if handled correctly.
Let's make it a simple answer... Not everybody is as smart and full with knowledge about batteries 👋😎 so every single detail will help who ever is learning...

Great Video! So do i need a special charger to charge a lith ion 48volt battery? Or can a bench power supply be used with very low ampage?
Hey Jose great video ! Can you please tell me what type protector fuse mainly the specifications that you use for this battery?

It will work just fine ☝️😎
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics Thanks for the response, I'll give it a shot!

Jejejeje yes i know... but is just the intro... 👋😎👋😎 some of us like a little drama 🎸🥁🎸🥁🎸🥁🎸🥁🎸🥁
!can you charge a new 2023 prius with a gen 3 prius prolong charger and how often should you,in order to prolong the battery life
Nice thanks for sharing. How about those battery charger you think is doable to charge a depleted battery set in like lowest amps? Thanks again
It is exactly what i did in this episode... the battery was in 14% and recover the SOC with no prpblem... but modules are swell as hell ☝️🥴🥴🥴🥴😪😪😪
