    This is very similar to the method I have recently adopted where I first deeply discharge the whole pack with light globes, then grid charge the whole pack with grid charger, then.. load the whole pack with Australian 240v 100w household globe and at exactly the 10 hour mark I quickly (with an assistant compiling the data on a spread sheet) record the voltage of each module.. Anything that dunks under 7.2v after 10 hours is considered no longer useful. It's not as thorough as messing around for weeks with hobby chargers but it's a good way to quickly nut out the duds!

    huge fan of your channel, keep up the good work.I have a Lexus rx400h 2007, it was parked for 7 or months, it was started 3 months ago and ran for 1 hour. I fully charged the auxiliary battery too, then I took the negative terminal off from auxiliary battery so that not drain the battery. it was parked for 2 months, when I connected the auxiliary battery again, it's not starting, it's saying check hybrid system. I fully charged the auxiliary battery again, connect and disconnect the battery for 10 mins both aux battery and hybrid battery fuse for 10 mins. the engine is not cranking at all, all electronic and lights etc all works fine. the hybrid battery level indicator is very low in the last 2 red level indicators. the car has only done 60000 miles,. can you tell me how can solve this issue and start the car would really appreciate it.

    The problem with bulk discharge and charging are not helping balance the cells and thus this method of charge-discharge will damage the units more than help them. If however all the cells/blocks are equal wear and votalge and resistance then bulk discharging /charging would help. But rarely would that be the case.

      Carlos Grande check to make sure none of them are grounded to the frame. some times there is a leak and the bolt holding the individual battery modules gets shorted to the nut holding it to the frame. the other issues is that the internal resistance is high. test the modules under a load and see any that cant handle a load.

    Hi Venice Hybrid tech! I have a Gen 1 version of your charger that I bought many years ago, but wanted to know if I could use it on a Gen2 or Gen3. I believe you had instructions for doing both Gen1 and Gen2 at the time...but now we have Gen 3, so I am assuming its the same as Gen 2 sine there are the same number of cells as a gen 2. I saw your Gen 3 video on charging, so is it the same, except for the voltage needing to be finished at 240v instead of 280v?
    thanks!

When I drive the car the hybrid battery charges but at a much slower rate than normal & I can't get it more than 3/4 fully charged and it's power seems to be used up much quicker than before. Any ideas as to what happened.

    • @VeniceHybridTech
      @VeniceHybridTech  2 роки тому

      Hi Lana, there are two things that come to my mind. Firstly, check the level of oil. If it is too high, then you have to get it drained and it should be at the correct level. Secondly, there are too many sensors in the hybrid system. They could have damaged a sensor, hence the problem. Another possibility is that they could have damaged some wire connected with the hybrid system. You must consult a technician.

    Hello I have a 2012 Toyota Prius Hybrid that started dying while driving at lower speed, would restart it and get about a mile before it would shut off again. I did this about 3/4 times before it completely died and would not restart. I pulled out the 12 volt battery and it was at 4.2 so took it in to have it recharged. Put back in my car and the display keeps saying “ something is wrong with the hybrid system, pull over to a safe place and contact a dealer.

    • @VeniceHybridTech
      @VeniceHybridTech  Рік тому

      Hi Gayle, I think the 12 V needs replacing. Just charging it is not enough. You need to get it checked from Auto Zone etc. That is the first requirement. Once that is taken care of, also check that you do have gas in the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you still get the warning signs, then yes the hybrid pack is the culprit. Watch my videos. I do not recommend cycling the hybrid pack.

    • @mauricioalvarez3
      @mauricioalvarez3 4 роки тому +3

      Pretty sure Honda Gen 2 is using niMH battery cells, that being said; your batteries are doing their job the way the battery ECU is instructing them however, niMH batteries lose their "memory" for their peak voltage. What that means is that through normal use they begin to lower their operating voltage and the ECU knows no difference. Once the resistance increases high enough, you'll get that red code for sure. Charge/discharge is a way to help them get their "memory" back
