Good day man, I’ve also noticed that anything but setting the left stick to RAW messes up BIG TIME with steering in car video games, such as CarX Drifting and GTAOnline. And thank you for the great video! Hopefully we’ll get the update sooner cause sticks responsiveness is my only problem with this controller.
Same here bro, there seems to be an upcoming update that should allow us to reduce the outer deadzone so higher values can be reached with lower movements, not like what we have currently.
@@thephototechyHeard, we may not get an update till mid or the end of October honestly hope this isn't true because I really wanna like this controller but this response curve or whatever This issue is very annoying and is ruining my muscle memory badly. 😭
@@hypno18s I know what you mean bro. I’m currently working on the review for Thrustmaster Eswap S and coming from Hall effect to that controller, man I’m playing good 😂
You deserve waaaay more acknowledgment for the attention you are bringing to the stagnant controller industry!❤❤❤ It's barbaric the industry standard is using caveman thumbstick tech from when the were first created in early 2000's
Hey thanks bro! I’ve seen videos people showing Dreamcast controller with Hall effect joystick in it. I know a lot of people are very excited to potentially be free of the stick drift issue, for me I’d like them to be either similar feeling or better when it comes to performance. I’m currently working on a review of the thrustmaster eswap s so mainly gaming with that controller. Have to say I’ve never experienced C&K thumbstick module before and I’m really liking the hyper response they have, I know it’s a combination of C&K choice of spring and materials also thrustmaster’s response algorithm, and they do perform very well for my play style. I tried the G7se yesterday and man there’s a difference. It’s this huge different feeling is getting me a bit. I can play with different controllers with potentiometer sticks, only find myself fiddling little bit with sensitivity between them, but coming to and from K-silver Hall effect sticks is a huge difference. Seeing the most amazing and positive reviews of the G7se, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s actually just me having issues adapting to them.
Well im glad im not the only one who felt like i couldnt aim the same with this controller. Feels so nice to use but so delayed or something im sending mine back and hoping its better at a later date
Hey, I felt the same initially, just couldn’t figure out what it was, that hesitation at times. I’m hoping it’ll get better with firmware updates. I think the issue could be the normal G7, as nexus was made for that controller.
@@thephototechy exactly I mainly play apex and it was immediately noticeable with linear i did mess around with different settings but I gave up trying to make the controller feel good for me nothing comes close to the Victrix gambit Xbox controller currently but mines got some wear and I can't seem to buy it again at the moment
@@ashleyibbitson7011 funny u mention gambit. I was recording live gameplay in COD and the best clips are from gambit 😂. Those higher quality polyshine sticks do have a different feel, there’s a bit of jitter, but I think that’s what helps them with aim. At times feels the gambit is aiming for you.
@@thephototechy Victrix gambit and the old razor wolverine TE are the best controllers for Xbox made so far and it seems now both are not being sold 😔 really wanted this controller to some how come good but the aiming feels like I'm fighting sludge
@@thephototechyhi mate little update for you as I mainly play apex I've spent a good week trying diff settings and Ive found that with classic response curve it's pretty much never going to feel like old style sticks no matter what I try but I've found that with deadzone in nexus set to about 5 and outer to 100 then using linear in game (4.3 small DZ) it feels much better and I can actually comfortably use it now.
@@jehovy I’ve actually tried it 😂. The Ksilver sticks have a max 30 degree movement in each direction from centre, compared to alps 23 degrees, also alps kinda get locked without the thumbsticks gate and Ksilver don’t. All the dead space without the face plate made it very strange. Removing the anti friction ring and using a precision ring did make it a good experience, if u need high stick tension. Still with the slow response curve of the sticks, I found reducing the in game max deadzones , so I hit max inputs way before the stick hits the anti friction ring.
This is a nice controller. I tried my friend’s and it’s the best thumbsticks I’ve ever used. My only downside is that I’m used to four back buttons so two aren’t enough
I just use circular mode on g7 se and it feels amazing! Much better than standard xbox series controller, and I see how much better response in the Apex Legends. I now can feel aim assist in the game (like in cod), comparing to a default controller. And I’m using 3 deadzone in gamesir app + 0 deadzone in all games, works best for me.
I cant have the deadzone in the app lower than 8 otherwise it would slightly trigger an action if you bump the stick a little as they are tiny little bit loose in the center from factory.
This is actually so interesting because seeing how we've been accustomed to potentiometer sticks with imperfect readings like how you've shown here, it could have made developers program the aiming in games differently so they would make it seem more circular or natural when in actuality the modules are just not that good
Bro because if this I’m having to reduce the outer deadzones so much on Hall effect sticks, otherwise they feel so unresponsive. It’s like we’re used to the max values reached at 70% movement of the stick and Hall effects have them at full 100%. I’m also noticing something else as well, so I have the rog Raikiri which most likely has alps sticks but calibrated with 0% error in circularity, and that one don’t feel so different like Hall effects. Makes me wonder if resolution of the output is a factor as well i-e hall sensor has more readings than potentiometer ones, hopefully someone will get to the bottom of it. Thanks for the comment bro, means a lot to a creator like me 😀
@@thephototechyI’ve tried the gamesir g7 and the se both sticks feel unresponsive like they have different responses curves/ dead zones built in that are different to a standard Xbox controller
@@thephototechy tried everything from that to in game settings on cod and closest thing to making it like a normal controller is changing outer deadzones like you’ve said but it makes you turn quicker etc but micro adjustments still feel impossible compared to a normal controller
I like almost everything about the controller. What I don’t like is what you said in your last video, about the responsiveness. I play apex legends and it felt at times like I was waiting for my input to take effect on the aim or movement.
Hey so try the 6.20 firmware update, keep the deadzones to 0 and the maximum to 100. In Apex settings bring the right stick outer deadzone to like 90%. These made a difference for me, still I feel the aim response a bit slow, but playing at much higher sensitivity then other makes up for it. I do hope that we get a response curve adjustment or the true raw mode. I really want these to become the norm and the stick drift becomes our past. Still for some reason I play a lot better with the normal G7 that has alps sticks 🤷🏽♂️
i think about buying this controller and apex is the game I play the most, do you think its worth or should i stay with original xbox series controller?
@@pitabaraninamieszany6388 against the standard Xbox controller this’ll definitely be an upgrade, unless you play claw and don’t need those back buttons. There is a standard version of this controller as well, I have a video comparing the both. The controller with Hall effect sticks feels a little different at first, specially to a seasoned gamer on normal controller. I have to say these are more accurate sticks, it’s just us having to adjust to them.
Hey that sounds strange, have you updated to 6.25? Also definitely disable minimum deadzones in the nexus app. I’ve just released a video showing a drift management method for G7se, I’d recommend to check if the right stick has any slop, if it does then use the method I’ve shown to manage that.
Thanks for the information bruv! I had ordered this controller and your precious review had me worried. But seeing that there's a solution to the stick inconsistency has me feeling relieved. So would you recommend this controller for games like warzone, apex and Fortnite?
Yes definitely, I’ll say try the normal settings and see if you feel the aim to be off and sluggish. If you do then definitely disable deadzones and 100% maximum in gamesir nexus, also reduce the outer deadzone of the right stick in COD settings. I’ve just finished shooting the G7 vs G7SE, should be uploaded today.
i had these same problems with the T4K. i noticed immediately my aim was off and adjusted "in game" sens up to 15/15 to compensate. after a week of use i decided to return it, my aim was just not consistent on it and i could not figure out what was going on. It's the fastest controller i have ever used, unfortunately not the most accurate.
Bro thanks a lot for sharing. I only play on console and thinking of building a gaming PC currently. I was actually thinking the T4 could be my first controller on PC, it’s the price of a gaming pc that scares me every time 😂
Thank you for your excellent video! Such nicer to follow than the other paid reviewers that just read the brochure. I have a lot of pro controller and to this date my favorite is the cheapest PowerA Nano for Xbox. The size reduction is just insanely better than a regular or other controllers I have. I have ordered the G7 SE today and I’m worry that I won’t adjust to the size that is apparently as big or bigger than the original XSX controller. I have small hands so it’s important to me I guess. I have 2 questions : 1/ how would you judge the size of the G7 SE ? 2/ can I update the controller directly in the app on the Xbox ? Thanks again m8
Hey, so they are wider at the top but the sloping and rounded grips do feel kinda compact. I think you’ll be able to grip it comfortably, your hands would be a bit aperture from each other. Only issue I can think of would be if you play claw on a smaller controller, this one might have a bit more stretch for your trigger finger to reach, normal grip I think you’d be fine. Unfortunately I updated mine on my computer 🤦🏽♂️would’ve been nice to see if they update through Xbox app. The Xbox app is exactly like the windows one so I’m hoping you’ll be able to update through it. The latest firmware as of writing this is 6.20 for the controller. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your quick reply. I don’t play in claw so I have good hope it will feel good ! One thing though, overall, why this company do not proposer a high end package with wireless and other nice features ?
@@thedoomslayer14 I think it might be Xbox who doesn’t allow third party companies their protocols for wireless. We are seeing the first wireless third party controller from PowerA the MOGA, it’s actually using Xbox first party wireless protocols, so we can only hope more third party companies can take advantage of that as well.
Hey the controller is actually very good, specially with recent firmware update things have gotten better. If you are used to the V2 chroma, this might feel a bit strange at first. You’ll miss the trigger stops though, even though they cut 50% travel on chroma, still it’s something.
Hey it’s 0 and 100.I found the original 10% made it super unresponsive, I feel 0 works best. If you want to remove the drift at rest, then using the in game deadzones performed better for me.
@thephototechy I mostly play Rocket League and have gone through three eSwap controllers and was excited to try these hall effect sticks..but man. I can't get things to work correctly (I'm on Xbox) and it feels like I'm trying to control my car on the moon.

Hey man, im having a really big problem. Im playing on 1000hz rn on xbox. The only game i can play fluently is Overwatch 2. I cant seem to play as well on cod. My aim assist is so strong i cant micro adjust. It seems like i was better on the 150hz controller. Its really annoying me. Should i just buy the regular g7? Bc i also find myself pressing buttons and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Maybe bc its the first of its kind. Idk i play 11-11 1.00 ads. The aim feels smooth until i snap to a player, then its like the aim assist is pushing my aim away from the player.
Hey bro, have you tried linear and dynamic? I personal kept my ads way above 1 around 1.45 because I it wasn’t moving enough. Also keep the nexus min deadzone 0 and use in game deadzone settings, I’ve encountered a bug where the game applies the standard deadzones, so if you have deadzones applied in nexus, they’ll double up.

Got it. Great vid btw, I watch a LOT of reviews before and after I buy a product, so you got in the algos for g7 se reviews. I do believe I did notice this using Raw and ultimately kept it off, so I'm gonna try this and see if I notice a difference. Definitely gained a sub from me
Hey since the firmware update, things have gotten better. I still feel a difference from other controllers but that’s due to these Hall effect sticks being more accurate. Normal potentiometer sticks hit maximum diagonals much sooner than these, where as Hall effect sticks are perfectly calibrated so maximum diagonal is at maximum stick position. I’m playing more and more with Hall effects sticks and really getting used ti them. Hopefully we get a controller with trigger stops and hall sensor sticks soon.
Hey there's been a firmware update to 6.25 and the issues have been resolved. I made a video covering the update. For racing games the normal circular deadzone could perform very well for smaller movements.
As someone who plays shooters very competitively right now a standard potentiometer is way better than Hall effect. It makes me wonder why don’t they just rotate the sticks 45 degrees because the diagonals seem to be very important. As well the sticks having less tension in the center of the sticks where slight aiming is made
Question is this problem also fixed for the t4 Khalid and if your not sure can you do a video on the controller which is also from gamesir not a lot of videos on it.
Ah man I really want to test that controller but I only play on Xbox and PS5. I’ve just released a video on the 6.25 update for G7se and the raw mode has been improved.
The triggers have stopped working completely on mine. I've tried to activate the 12 month warranty I had with the controller and the online form you have to fill out does not give you the option with this controller in order for you to complete the form itself. I've contacted their social media pages explaining my issue and I've been ignored whilst they continue to update their pages. Had the controller less than a month was literally playing payday 3 and both my LT and RT just went off. Feel let down by this and I believe this company knows this problem is bound to happen which is why they don't respond to this issue. I've been polite asking for help and nothing.
@@thephototechy yes I've tested it out in the app and I'm not getting anything from the triggers, tried hair trigger mode on both and it's not doing anything. I'm just surprised at how I've been completely blanked by the company itself. I've not reacted to being ignored and I've asked why the G7SE model itself is not an option for selection in the online form for replacement. I honestly rated this controller and I was disappointed how the triggers just stopped working literally out of nowhere and customer services has basically been none existent. I've had zero complaints about the controller until this happened. Guess all controllers are designed to brake but not after a month.
Hey man not gonna lie I didn't even know what snapback was lol, after searching for it I realise what it is. So if the deadzones are completely disabled then yes the readings change when the stick is snapping back, sometimes more and sometimes a bit less in the opposite direction. But everything was with in the 4-5% register range, so a 5% deadzone will not show any snapback at all, hope this helps.
@@thephototechy thanks for the feedback! this is somewhat of a niche problem for niche games, i play a lot of SSB melee in a competitive way and the snapback issue a widely recognized trouble within our community, we are using snapback capacitors modules to prevent it since years now because it can lead to incorrect inputs multiple times in a row, we have been using hall effect sensors for a while too because we need the most accurate inputs on joysticks to be competitive (i know its hard to believe for a 2003 game released on gamecube) happy to know that snapback does not seem to be a big issue on this controller, im gonna buy one to do further tests :D

Hey I know they’ve promised it for the G7se, not sure about the G7. In all honesty I think as consumers we need to purchase the G7se, se we send a clear message to manufacturers that we are done with stick drift. I’m working hard on making a comparison of the G7 vs G7se currently.
Thats exactly the kind of video I was looking for! I do love the controller, but its super hard to get used to it with these thumbsticks...I've played with the software and found out like you that playing with the deadzones in game definitely help...can you share the exact inputs you have in the software and in COD? I might try your settings out! Thanks again for the great video
Hey you are most welcome bro. So I’m using the 0 deadzone and 100 maximum in nexus software. Another thing I did is make all three profiles the same on the controller. In COD you can use your preferred response curve, for me the best was either standard or linear and I reduced the right stick maximum deadzone to 90 in COD. This has helped a ton, also I do a calibration on Xbox every now and then. To do that u press and hold menu,Xbox and view buttons and plug the cable in, led light flashes, rotate both sticks 3 times and press triggers in 3 times, press A after this and have to reconnect the controller. Hope this helps.
@@thephototechybro thanks for the quick response! I guess I'll have to play with the controller's settings a little bit again to be confortable with it. I feel like there's room for improvement, but I just can't put the finger on the small input delay that I'm experiencing with the sticks...I did remove the raw mode and put the deadzones in game to 100, but I think I'll lower it a bit and push up the sticks sensitivity like you did. Again a huge thanks for your video and for sharing your inputs. If you have any update regarding the issue with the SE, please post about it. I'm definitely subbing to your channel.
Did you make a video of your gamesir software? Everyone in the comments is using different terms. for me a 1 to 1 listing with the same names as used in the software would be nice. Also, I bought the silicon PlayVital precision rings and found the softest to be too still.. so I cut it in half and it feels "Just right." Hopefully they eventually make ones like that out of box...
Hi. May i clarify some thing about your circular and raw modes. Are these modes presets in the gamesir software. If basically i want the most similar feeling to the regular xbox controller, what kind of settings should I be trying to get? FYI i dont own a g7se yet. Just thinking of purchasing it after watching your videos. Thanks.
Hey, so G7 and G7se can have 3 custom profiles stored on the controller. The software allows us the ability to either have a raw mode( used by almost all controllers) or a circular mode which will restrict the movement to the thumbsticks gate. The game will also have its own gate, that once hit will register the maximum input, so even in raw mode it’s not like we have more inputs diagonally. Currently the G7se in raw mode seems to have a wierd behaviour, where it feels like it’s a software based raw mode, as discovered by the reddit user( link in description of video). Gamesir make a point of mentioning the raw mode as being more precise for some games, and touts it as an advantage their controllers have,in addition to a circular mode, which is absolutely correct for the G7. Once fixed the G7se will have the same behaviour. What I experienced was a bit slower stick response in circular mode and some inconsistency in raw mode. For example with G7se I need to play at 12-13 sensitivity in cod with reduce in game maximum deadzone to 90, if I then connect the normal G7 the sensitivity is too much and I’d put a precision ring at these kind of numbers. TBH G7se is the future and I’m just hoping that different feeling currently it has is fixed. One thing for sure if you don’t use precision rings you’ll get used to it very easily. I’ve uploaded a comparison of the G7se and G7 just yesterday with bit more in depth stuff.
That's great man. Thanks for the detailed response. I ordered a unit for myself already. Do you recommend I should do anything regarding the controller settings when I finally receive it? Like profile type, raw, circular? I play games like overwatch and rainbow six siege.
@@dailymotions so one thing I’m doing is keeping all the 3 profiles the same with 0 deadzones and 100 maximum, so in circular profile. Also check the controller first that u can get maximum register in each corner, someone commented that their controller couldn’t reach maximum input, if that’s the case a manual calibration will be a must. With 0 deadzones of u experience drift at rest, use the in game deadzones. If you find the response a bit slow, try reducing the maximum outer deadzone in your game settings. The controller is very nice in hand and once we get used to it, it’s a solid piece of kit. I just wish the triggers had stops as they are a bit soft. Hope this helps.
Alright. Thanks man. I'll try these settings when the thing arrives. If I may suggest your next video, why don't you provide a guide on thr gamesir software and how to adjust settings. I also don't 100% understand some of the terms you used regarding the settings. Just a suggestion.
@@dailymotions hey that’s actually a very helpful tip. I might do an update at the same time, as to how it’s holding up to some rigorous gaming we FPS gamers put them through. Thanks for your support bro!
I've been using this controller for Halo Infinite. The only problem I have with is the resistance it has left and right because of the module bands. I had to turn up my horizontal sensitivity to compensate. I like the controller however. Just wish it has built in mouse click triggers. Boom perfect.
I’d take even normal trigger stops. I do feel the triggers a bit lose, specially after the time I’ve put in. Hopefully they’ll make one with trigger stops.
I use it to play halo infinite as well and i literally cant win a 1v1 br fight with it to save my life. I used to use the normal xbox controller so im not sure if its because the thumbsticks are different or what.
@@jamest4189 so this one definitely has a bit slower response than standard controller, I’ve tested it back and forth. Something like halo has some acceleration settings u can try changing to get the correct feel. I actually need to jump back in halo and try this out as well. COD and BF2042 allows you to reduce the outer deadzone threshold, so you hit maximum input quicker, If halo has this option, try reducing it on the aiming stick. Hope this helps.
@@Drift4God I didn't like the controller at first but I've since grown to love it after tweaking my settings. I initially set both thumb stick dead zones to "2" but the combination of playing on very low dead zones and the fact that the thumb sticks are a different size/shape than the og xbox controller made aiming very difficult. Because the thumb sticks are so sensitive at such a low dead zone it, made it very hard to hit shots as I'd always flinch/twitch and whiff my shots. To remedy this, I kept the controller dead zones low but I increased the center dead zone and max input threshold for the look stick in the halo menus both to "9" which works perfect for me. I didn't need to adjust the move stick as having a twitchy left stick makes your strafe lethul. I can strafe so much faster than most people now that it's actually kind of insane lol.
Yeah for games with a quick TTK this would be a great controller, however my cons to this controller is the tension with it. It doesn't allow you to snap on targets in motion like you would do in Halo Infinite.
Hey I was thinking about that and waiting on the update but seems to be taking longer than I thought, so I might just make a video with some suggestions for aim settings, 🙏
@@thephototechy thanks bro ! One more question you said keep it at 100 not raw . And in games make outer threshold hold lower . Do you recommend marking outer threshold 0 or higher ?
@@mr.getitdone1451 hey so if the aiming feels slower reducing the outer threshold helps reach higher input values sooner. Some games might have them as 100 at standard, which means we’ll need to reduce the number. Some games might show this as 0 at standard value, which’ll mean we need to increase the number. Hey I checked a lot with different thumbsticks, if you calibrate them they are fine. There might be an issue with other non gamesir sticks, I just put the G7 on the SE, they are identical.
Great content sir! …so just like a few others, I installed the brand new firmware on my g7 se in my Xbox and now the indicator light is rapid fire constant thus the controller is all over the place haywire. I tried doing the manual reset as you mentioned. The indicator light blinks slowly, I do the steps then unplug and plug cable back in and it’s back to the rapid fire light blinking. Controller was working fine before that. I’ve used it for a couple months It’s obvious the new update is faulty and caused a bug. What I want to know now is that did it permanently fry my controller or can it be fixed by Gamesir releasing an emergency patch which I would think is probably going to happen simply going by others having issues as well 🤔😡
Hey so try holding the Xbox, menu & view buttons in then plug the controller in, led starts flashing rotate both sticks 3 times and press triggers in 3 times then press A. The light should turn off when you press A at this point you disconnect and reconnect the controller. This seems to have happened to another user, they commented on my community post, the method of manual calibration mentioned above fixed it for them, I hope this helps you bro.
@@thephototechy yeah I tried it several times ie when you plug the controller back in, it goes right back into lightning fast blinking … in other words, anytime you plug the controller back in after those steps, the machine gun speed blinking will re-activate
@@mezmauler so that fast blinking led was the last step in the update where the software prompted to rotate the sticks and press the triggers in slowly, then there was a popup showing sticks and triggers with a check mark. Hey bro I’ve kept it at 100 at raw but I’m using precision rings, without them I’d definitely bring it to 90-95. I play on linear settings in cod and adjust minimum deadzones depending on controller. Sensitivity is 16 and ADS 1.6, I’ve just released a video for 6.25 as well
I think it registered more input at lower values at some angles but then lower values at others, it’s just my theory. What’s working best for me is 100% maximum and reducing the outer deadzone in game. So the stick has equal register like the circle shape, but hits higher values before it should. When I tested all the other controllers, apart from ROG Raikiri have raw modes as standard. After doing this change the aiming feels a lot better to me, I do have to play a on a bit higher sensitivity but I really like it. This controller is convincing me to get rid of the precision rings.
@@thephototechy Yeah, i understand, but if raw is tailored, should have more input bit it's the other way around so it got me thinking. It is though very strange that the raw circle got so strange with the accessory. Maybe the controller have no precision at all and, on raw mode, it corrects the end of the movement only, showing the "square-circle" but, before reaching the ending it is actually a mess all the way? On the other hand, the perfect circle one corrects everything in between the beginning of the movement and it's end, therefore it is slower than raw? I think I'm not making any sense at this point, I'm sorry lol.
@@ryon1256 it is a bit strange behaviour for sure, as other controllers seems to be ok drawing a circle in their raw mode. One thing could be the normal G7, as the software was made for that first, and the SE might not even have a raw mode and it’s messing with it. It was the language in the software, saying raw mode can be more precise in some games that got me to use it. When engaged I did feel it to be more snappy but like I mentioned the inconsistency was a bit much. Since the launch,we’ve had a firmware update as well to 6.20 and that has made things better. One thing has me worried is the spring in the sticks, mine are registering 5-6% at times now at rest, so yeah anti stick drift but that spring, hopefully it will keep it at 5-6% and doesn’t get worse.
@@thephototechy I also realized that, mine was 2%, now 3. It is a little loose at the beginning of the movement, but, to be honest, I've never had such a good controller. It's buttery smooth and it improved my skills on Forza by a lot. I mean, now i can actually feel the car like it supposed to. Very different from my old ps4 controller. In campaign games i can also micro adjust the crosshair to shoot, it's awesome. But i don't have such experience on playing FPS with controllers, so i don't exactly understand when you guys say it lags out, but I think i experience that when driving on Forza too, although I can't be sure it wasn't me. I've heard that they will update the firmware to make the controller runs at 1000 pulling rate (it's standard 250 for now), is that true? And, could you answer a question? Is the Elite controller that amazing at the point of being more precise, smooth and fast than the gamesir SE?
@@ryon1256 The elite series 2 actually broke my heart. I've made a video explaining the issues with my unit. Safe to say I'd never buy the series 2 again, I 'll play with wired controllers on xbox no problem. To me the series 2 is the worst performer due to the slop introduced in the sticks. You see the G7 se got the slop but its a smooth movement, series 2 has a distinct edge at the centre slop and throws me off so much. Also my right bumper has issues as well. Elite Series 2 is the only one I regret buying. I bought it due to the marketing language "refined new components" made me believe that core has new better internals and will be long lasting. My series 1 lasted over 6 years and still works, only the left stick doesn't press in.
question? i saw you had a galaxy kontrol freek on right stick, did you have to use the ps4/5ones or did the xbox ones fit it? i’ve heard that the ps ones are the only ones that fit
just done the new update v6.25 on my g7se and its broke my controller when aiming with left trigger its started to shoot with it ive even put it back to default and its the same was working fine until i updated it today
Hey can you confirm if you did the calibration after the update? If not plz try a manual calibration. Hold the Xbox, menu & view button and then plug the controller in, the led will start flashing, rotate the sticks 3 times at medium to slow pace and press the triggers in 3 times again slowly, press the A button, the led will shut off, disconnect and reconnect the controller. I’m hoping this should fix the issue for you, if not then definitely need to reach out to Gamesir. Sorry to hear you have this issue bro, specially when it’s because of the awaiting update, hope it gets resolved.
I sure hope so. So many people prefer that shape. I did hear about Gulikit making Hall effect modules for dualsense edge, but that controller is soo expensive. Snakebyte a German company has announced some Xbox licensed Hall effect controllers. They have some PS4 controllers on their website so who knows maybe they can make one.
@@thephototechy Yea I bought a t4 kaleid although ive never used a xbox shape in my life, the sticks feel amazing but the shape and no trigger stops (im use to using mouse click triggers on my scuf) make it so hard to use.

Hey thanks bro. So I haven’t tried over clicking it, as I mainly play on console. Gamesir has promised a firmware update that’ll unlock the 1000hz poling rate in their nexus software. It’s not available in the recent firmware that came out, but I know a lot of people are waiting for this feature, so hopefully Gamesir fulfill their promise soon.
If wireless not mandatory for you then this beats the Xbox series controller for me. The back buttons and Hall effect sticks are the main advantages. If you can play claw, then one can say the series x is a bit better due to the shape and the ABXY button position.
Hey yes I made a community post 😂 been waiting on this one like crazy. Definitely feel way better and the precision tester is now showing a similar shape to snakebyte’s gamepad pro. Video coming soon bro!

No don’t touch raw mode yet on G7se. Like I showed it has inconsistent shape within the stick movement. Use 0 deadzone minimum and 100 maximum in gamesir nexus. If at 0 deadzone u get drift and you don’t like it, use the in game deadzones to eliminate that. To me in 100 maximum mode, the stick felt a little slow, so in COD I reduced the maximum outer deadzone of right stick to 90. Hope this helps.
For COD the G7se definitely feel very different to even the normal G7. Apex I don’t know I haven’t played. My suggested settings have made a huge difference for me, unfortunately I still think a proper raw mode is needed. If you check the normal G7 webpage on gamesir website, they point out how good a feature is raw mode, and how it improves some game’s experience.
@@thephototechy yea so the elite you put it in linear/raw mode and then your preferred response curve the game your playing offers? So I thought anyway
@@mrintense8432 so the different response curves in game settings will definitely make a difference, the issue with G7se is the inconsistency. So let’s say someone plays on linear or dynamic and they are used to it, and know how much flick moves aim by how much, in this scenario imagine their stick movement doesn’t feel the same from moment to moment. That’s basically what I was experiencing. Also I think the use of precision rings made it even worse. After checking all my controllers, the only one to have a circular outer gate is ROG Raikiri m, every other controller has a raw mode as standard. This could be another reason for the G7se to feel a bit different. Still have to say even playing with the circular profile I’m getting used to it, I do feel a difference when okay with other controllers, but I’m going to get used to the Hall effect sticks, hoping more and more options will be available soon.

Bro I’ve been calibrating it every other day. I’d suggest calibrating on the system you are going to use it on. The readings seems to be the same in gamepad tester and others before and after calibration.
The gambit and normal G7 are behaving ok, the G7se clips the 4 corners and extends the diagonals in raw mode. The sticks in gambit are favorunion’s highest model, they have a slight jitter but the response curve feels smooth, gambit is my personal favourite for aiming on Xbox. But have to say if only 2 back buttons needed then the normal G7 has it beat unless u really need trigger stops. Honestly I’m having a ton of fun playing with the normal G7 atm. I’ll say this, if you play without precision rings, then definitely the G7se makes more sense, you’ll just have to play at higher sensitivity. At the end both have 1 year warranty so I can’t say long term what would be better. I’ll be making a video comparing the G7 vs G7se, just need a bit more time with the G7. Also it doesn’t help when I have a lot of fun playing and don’t shoot any content 😂
Hello, i was wondering, since i use this controller with my xbox, what is the mode it uses? the row mode that makes the circle of the shape of a butterfly bread or the mode that makes the perfect circle?
Hey, for me the non raw 100% maximum works the best. Also I minimum 10% deadzone to 0, it might introduce a bit of drift at rest but it’s not game breaking. For me I had to reduce the in game outer maximum deadzone as well. TBH you only need to change these if the aim feels off. Hiding by the other reviews, alot of people don’t have any issues with the controller and it’s working absolutely fine for them. I noticed something off with aiming in my initial review, and found the Amazon review explaining the raw mode behaviour not being normal. You can always try my suggestions and see if you feel an improvement, if out of the box everything was fine then most likely you won’t need to do anything.

@@thephototechy thank you for the answer! In the software of gamesir you put 0 and 100 for the Stick right? And when they do the update we can use the raw mode what do you think?
@@NumberOne1999. yes currently I think raw mode is working on the normal G7 only. Once updated I’ll definitely make a video on it. So yes 0 and 100 in gamesir nexus for now. If you feel it sluggish, u might need to increase the in game sensitivity a bit.
Really need your help i have this controller but auto sprint in apex wont work even if its on what do i have to do to get it working with this controller
Hey check your left stick is setup correctly in gamesir nexus and don’t have a reduced outer deadzone. Also check it can register a 100% input when pushed all the way forward. If you are having issues with left stick inputs, you can always do a calibration of the sticks. To start the calibration disconnect the controller, press and hold Xbox, view and menu buttons together and plug the controller in, the led will start flashing, rotate each stick 3 times and press the triggers in 3 times, then press A. You’ll have to disconnect and reconnect the controller again after the calibration, hope this helps bro.
Hello I have a question. Do regular Xbox kontrol freeks work on the G7 SE? I noticed that the thumbsticks on the G7 are bigger than those on a regular Xbox controller so should i buy Ps4/Ps5 kontrol freeks which I think are a little bit bigger so they fit?
Hey, in raw mode there seems to be an inconsistency when stick is moving with in the maximum deadzones, something the normal G7 or my other controllers don’t have. Imagine we have this muscle memory kind thing, where we see an enemy on screen, and instinctively we know the amount of stick movement will take the aim to them, this amount of movement seems different from time to time in raw mode. The circular mode has no issues, but feels a little bit slower, something higher in game sensitivity kinda resolves. TBH I think the issue could be the user as well, and their reliance on the older potentiometer sticks 🤦🏽♂️.
Hey, for me it feels a lot better, because I’m used to of the response curve. Unfortunately the non se is using the potentiometer sticks, and it’s actually the cheapest controller with back pedals that has alps sticks, most cheap controllers(PowerA enhanced, PDP rematch, turtlebeach recon)have polyshine cheaper sticks. So the G7 at its price has the unique combination of the best potentiometer sticks. The G7se can be good for FPS, just needs some tweaking to the settings and play at higher sensitivity. If you are used to a precision ring like I am, then the non SE is way better.
@@thephototechy oh i see i might check the prices here, coz im looking to try out the se, think its just a getting used to type of stuff, since we all accustomed to using the old alps, nope i tried using precision rings they make movement harder cant even turn 😅
@@MobSayko 😂 yeah the sensitivity has to be a lot higher with those. One thing I’ll say they’ve helped me playing with a higher sensitivity. So before the precision rings I use to play at 6-7 in COD. Now even without them I play 11-13 depending on the controller. For the last few days I’ve been playing without precision rings because of the G7se. Just to quickly share a bit about the G7, yes it have rubberised grips but the SE is actually very nice to hold as well. The clicky buttons on the G7 are nice, but if you are mainly playing shooters you won’t miss them at all. So the SE is actually a pretty good deal. I just hope someone makes a Hall effect controller with trigger stops. Snakebyte has announced 3 xbox controllers with Hall effects sticks and 5 years warranty, so let’s see what they’ll be like.
@@thephototechy high sens on apex kills aa even with precision rings, i found playing with a default thumbsticks and no rings better for me, honestly they shoulve just added quick triggers and bumpers or triggers stops, yeah i saw 1 of you're vids, 5yrs wow might get 1 f they add trigger stops.
@@thephototechy update i got the g7 se been using it for about 2 weeks, it feels like the raw mode feels better for me idk, when i use the 100 feels like there's a delay ramping up the sens, but man pre aiming without stick drift is so much better
I have not liked any 3rd party "budget" controllers since maybe Sega Genesis had a transparent 6 button controller by Mad Katz. The buttons feel mushy on all of them.....That said this controller has great buttons, the best sticks and triggers. I freaking love how there is no play n the sticks. Xbox I can lift them up and down, these are locked in and always goes back to the center. I hope they continue to make them better and not cheapen out for profit. The back buttons could use improvement. I tried to use them as a run button in call of duty but it does not work great for me, feels awkward. Having a controller that I do not have to worry about drift makes me enjoy gaming again. I literally bought 3 controllers since I bought my S 1 year ago. All 3 plus the cyber white that came with it have drift.
Hey have you seen what initial deadzones are applied to the sticks in gamesir nexus? I think they are at 10% and can feel very sluggish. There’s been an update to 6.25 with a lot of fixes and I have a video on that, also I’ve made a stick calibration and trigger settings video that might help if you encounter any issues. I’m very excited about the Hall effect sticks and their potential, specially now that we have Favorunion who have announced their own module as well. Thanks for sharing your input bro, it really helps me and others.
Lol the controller in the video clearly already had stick drift as demonstrated in the video. No controller has stick drift if you slap on crazy deadzones and murder any and all responsiveness of the controller.
@@MV-ri7zu hey so yes at rest my controller has more drift now and this is only after around 50-60 hours of game time. The spring loses tension and never fully centre, now my controller can drift with 5-8% register at rest, which is a bit worrying tbh and I’m hoping it stays at this value. As standard Gamesir had 10% deadzone applied so I guess anything below that is fine for them, for me though anything above 6-7% can be an issue. I haven’t been able to play with the controller a lot as I’m testing other controllers, so I’d keep an eye out on other creators for long term updates on G7se.
@@thephototechy yeah that is VERY deceiving of them. My elite 2 which is notoriously called horrible and said to have drift out of the box doesnt even drift at 5% deadzone after 5 YEARS of very competitive fps use and a couple of drops. Im currently playing mw2 at a TRUE 0 deadzone just fine. These gamesir controllers seem to exactly what I suspected, which is too good to be true.
I am planning to buy one of the gamesir's controller. But cant decdie between G7, G7 se, T4 cyclone pro. Can you please help me choose between these. I play more of Rocket league, DBD and battlefield, in that order.
Hey so the default 100 max has a radial outer deadzone and its a perfect circle. The thumbstick has 2 axis x and y and if there is no outer deadzone they'll actually make a square. On the normal potentiometer thumbsticks alot of the time manufacturers will use the physical thumbstick gate as the outer deadzone so the shape is a hybrid of square and circle. Gamesir has decided to give us the option to use the radial outer deadzone or go with a raw mode imitation. The benefit of the raw mode is a quicker response aiming as the diagonals reach the 100% value sooner compared to the radial mode. Also it depends on games what kind of aim response values they use, In COD and BF2042 I can confirm the raw mode feels so much more snappier than 100 max. For some reason the Raw mode imitation is not working properly on Ksilver hall effect sticks, and Gamesir has just released a firmware update fix which has changed this butterfly response shape to a diamond logo shape similar to snakebyte's gamepad pro. I have to say I'm having a blast after the update, I'll be releasing a video very soon going over the update fix with some in game examples as well, hope this helps.
@@thephototechy So If I'm used to playing apex legends on linear response curve with a ps4 controller, if I'm switching to G7 se, which should I use? Default or raw mode? Thank for the explanation btw.
@@LAN-w- hey I’d personally would say raw mode, and now gamesir has implemented the ability to reduce the max outer deadzone with max stick input values. So if that slightly more movement of these sticks in each direction im feels a bit strange, you can actually make max value response area a bit smaller. As always try for yourself bro, coz a lot of other stuff play a role as well I-e feel of controller and your screen setup. One thing for sure is to disable the minimum deadzone and make it from 10 to 0, and if that introduce a bit of drift at rest, then use the in game deadzone settings on apex.
Anyone have the problem of the shortcuts not working? The M+Pad down, or up, or left or right? I'm lost mine doesnt work, all the buttons are working, but not the shortcut
Hey I initially tested the audio then haven’t used them as I use external sound card. Have u tried button mappings with the button? Is it actually registering at all? I’ll check mine later and update you.
I was debating getting the g7 because i can’t get used to the g7 se sticks. My issue I believe is that it feels like im fighting the magnets when im aiming. Do you think that’s the case?
Hey m, so I initially thought that maybe the other magnets in the triggers and sticks were kinda causing an interference and might be the cause of the delay. I think the issue is the raw mode and the software deadzones. So try 0 deadzones in gamesir nexus and 100% maximum, then make the maximum outer deadzone in game to like 90%. Now all this worked for me after the recent firmware 6.20,and another thing I did was to make all the Controller profiles to the same settings. These have made a huge difference for me, only thing left is the figment of Kontrolfreek precision rings, but that’s only cause I use them. Currently Im testing the G7 vs SE back and forth a lot and have to say I’m getting used to the SE. I feel as consumer we have a bit of power here, and can send a message to other manufacturers by showing what we purchase. I wish the G7se had custom response curve and not the raw mode which seems to be causing issues IMO. I do think Hall effect are the future but would like to see them implemented properly, feels like we are testers atm. I’m sure gamesir is evaluating the market by taking some features away from SE(clicky buttons, rubber grips) to see how much effect just the Hall effect has on consumers.
ya i generally play halo and play 0 deadzones and 100 default, and 0 center deadzone and 0 axial deadzone in game. to me it feels clunky in a way it doesnt feel smooth/consistent. raw feels sooo fast lol@@thephototechy
@@brannonketelsen6365 I think u and me are feeling the same thing. I need to check if we can reduce the outer deadzone of the sticks in halo, that’s help me a lot. I feel like the outer dead zone needs to be a option because I move halfway and it feels so slow I play destiny and I played 17 0.5 and now im trying 20 0.9 and it feels way to slow and I can’t aim anymore
It’s kinda unplayable I can’t snipe anymore because I can’t flick because how slow it feels. in cod and R6 that have outer dead zones it’s great but any game without it’s really bad
@@OSIRIS. Hey I actually didn’t think about games not having the outer deadzone options. Currently the way nexus is working, limiting the outer deadzone will limit the register input as well. I think Gamesir really need to give us a custom response curve option, so we can map the maximum value to like 80-85% stick movements. In COD and BF2042 I’m reducing the outer deadzones to 80-90 to play. I just reviewed the snakebyte Hall effect controllers and they seem to have a quicker response, but still I find myself reducing the outer deadzones on them. Has me thinking every Hall effect sticks should have a custom response curve option. All I can advise is to do a calibration and see if it improves it. It’s like some people are commenting that this is way better than standard sticks and others like you and me seems to think the difference is very noticeable.

Hi I have got the g7se and I'm having problems for some reason the back buttons underneath are not working I have tried many different things with no luck. Does anyone know how to fix it
Hey did you use the gamesir nexus software to map them? Also u can test all the buttons of the controller in gamesir nexus as well. The mappings are very easy for these and they have worked perfectly for me. If you can see the mappings in gamesir nexus and the buttons are not registering, then definitely reach out to Gamesir, they are pretty good at resolving issues.
@@HarryFunhead hey nothing is in the software as they promised, I have t tested the overclocking method yet, will leave a comment if that’s changed in a bit.
@@HarryFunhead hey I tried the overclocking method and the xinput still showing just under 4ms so the overclocking isn’t working either. The only things added then is the raw mode fix, and now when we reduce the max deadzone it actually reduces with 100% values and don’t lock the stick to the reduced value, also we can actually reduce the maximum circle in raw mode as well, so I’d say it’s a substantial update for aiming options. The V2 chroma though man is an amazing controller, I’m trying to put some more time on it and get used to the grip a bit. Aiming wise I really like what Razer has done with the chroma.

Hey so gamesir have acknowledged the issue and have released the fix with firmware 6.25 last Friday. If you prefer the butterfly shape old response curve then I’d suggest don’t update, as the new raw response curve has changed drastically and don’t make that shape anymore. I have a video on the new update and changes it has made.
@@thephototechy bro, I tried your tips on this video. I went back to disable raw mode. I felt like aim assist is stronger on this one. It's just not as snappy as before though.
@@BordadoIsmael so if you prefer the previous raw mode, I’d say don’t update the controller. Before 6.25 all the diagonals were stepped and not smooth, hence that shape was being created in precision tester. The new raw mode has smoother diagonals and if you’ve been playing on raw this long and prefer it, then you’ll notice the change. Also there is no way of reversing the update, so I’d say definitely stay with what you prefer.

Oh yes man been waiting on it for time, I’m going to check it in a min, thanks for letting me know bro
@thephototechy Your the man!

It feels like I don’t have aim assist using this controller. How can I fix it?

I have ordered the G7 SE today and I’m worry that I won’t adjust to the size that is apparently as big or bigger than the original XSX controller. I have small hands so it’s important to me I guess.
I have 2 questions :
1/ how would you judge the size of the G7 SE ?

Do you think it's a good controller for racing games?
Hey there's been a firmware update to 6.25 and the issues have been resolved. I made a video covering the update. For racing games the normal circular deadzone could perform very well for smaller movements.
How about for nba 2k25? @@thephototechy

Had the controller less than a month was literally playing payday 3 and both my LT and RT just went off. Feel let down by this and I believe this company knows this problem is bound to happen which is why they don't respond to this issue. I've been polite asking for help and nothing.

@@thephototechy thanks for the feedback! this is somewhat of a niche problem for niche games, i play a lot of SSB melee in a competitive way and the snapback issue a widely recognized trouble within our community, we are using snapback capacitors modules to prevent it since years now because it can lead to incorrect inputs multiple times in a row, we have been using hall effect sensors for a while too because we need the most accurate inputs on joysticks to be competitive (i know its hard to believe for a 2003 game released on gamecube)

I do not like the controller for halo infinite definitely gonna have to return, way too slow of response time
@@Drift4God I didn't like the controller at first but I've since grown to love it after tweaking my settings.

I tried doing the manual reset as you mentioned. The indicator light blinks slowly, I do the steps then unplug and plug cable back in and it’s back to the rapid fire light blinking.

It’s obvious the new update is faulty and caused a bug.
Hey man, what’s your max outer deadzone after update 6.25? Being at max 100 on raw just doesn’t feel too right z
Hey bro I’ve kept it at 100 at raw but I’m using precision rings, without them I’d definitely bring it to 90-95. I play on linear settings in cod and adjust minimum deadzones depending on controller. Sensitivity is 16 and ADS 1.6, I’ve just released a video for 6.25 as well
@@thephototechy thankyou bud
But if Raw mode is software made, why would it felt more responsive than circular mode?

Do you think they will make a ps5/ps5 shaped controller with Hall effect thumb sticks in the near future ?
I sure hope so. So many people prefer that shape. I did hear about Gulikit making Hall effect modules for dualsense edge, but that controller is soo expensive.

If wireless not mandatory for you then this beats the Xbox series controller for me. The back buttons and Hall effect sticks are the main advantages. If you can play claw, then one can say the series x is a bit better due to the shape and the ABXY button position.

So you mean If I play COD MW2 I should use the raw mode with kontrolfreeks or without?
No don’t touch raw mode yet on G7se. Like I showed it has inconsistent shape within the stick movement. Use 0 deadzone minimum and 100 maximum in gamesir nexus. If at 0 deadzone u get drift and you don’t like it, use the in game deadzones to eliminate that.
To me in 100 maximum mode, the stick felt a little slow, so in COD I reduced the maximum outer deadzone of right stick to 90. Hope this helps.
Does cod or apex’s own in game response curves not over ride gamesirs?

Thanks for the help man.
So the gambit is inaccurate like the G7 se? Or is the regular g7 and gambit both accurate? I was alittle confused.

I noticed that the thumbsticks on the G7 are bigger than those on a regular Xbox controller so should i buy Ps4/Ps5 kontrol freeks which I think are a little bit bigger so they fit?
so basically it feels like with this controller you can not reach the outer deadzone for max stick input, so it feels unresponsive?
@@thephototechyTell me about it, gees am I the only guy that actually dislikes the antifriction rings and preffers the feel of a stock controller.
how the heck did you get kontrol freeks on the controller
so the non se is better for fps games?
Do ps4/5 control freeks work on the g7 se?
Which free control accepts xbox x/s or Ps4/5?
Hey if you mean kontrolfreeks, this controller definitely needs PS4/PS5 kontrolfreeks.
I play more of Rocket league, DBD and battlefield, in that order.
g7 se is the best controller ever made
what monitor is that
Hey bro, it’s the Gstory 17.3” 1080 165hz, but I wouldn’t recommend it as there is a lot of display lag compared to a normal monitor.
Whats the difference between raw mode and default?

Also there is no way of reversing the update, so I’d say definitely stay with what you prefer.
me watching this knowing i do not play shooters with controller and i only want this for games like elden ring on pc XD
Judging by your comment, you must be playing mouse and key on PC. It’s something I always think about but never got a gaming PC. The price scares me a bit, I’m working towards it though, so hopefully one day soon. Thanks for the comment!
Ive been waiting 2 weeks for my g7 se to come in the mail. Ordered through gamesir website. Thinking about asking for a refund because it probably wont be here till next week. Kinda disappointed tbh
Hey did you have to preorder was it in stock? I did a preorder before launch and once it was shipped took about 7 days for U.K.
The controller is actually very good and I’m honestly hoping they release a firmware to either fix the raw mode, or give us the ability to change the response curve.
Also I’m really liking the normal G7, click my buttons are ok but the extra rubber grip it has is amazing. I can see why the G7se doesn’t have the rubber grips as white and rubber will get so dirty. Hope you get yours soon bro.
@@thephototechy Mine was coming from China and I'm in the US and I didn't have to preorder anything
@@TinklyMold you should be able to track the shipment. When I ordered I got an email once it was shipped and the tracking was very detailed.
Mind you due to the time it took, I ordered the normal G7 from Amazon, just to get it the next day.
@@thephototechy It says it has departed partner shipping facility but has been there for days now. Kinda irritating
@@TinklyMoldAh man I get the frustration, specially when its exciting new tech. All I can say, it'll definitely be worth the wait, specially if you've had stick drift issues before.
I used this Controller to beat re4 remake. Afterwards I replayed it with my standard x1 controller and barely made it through the first chapter. Standard Cntrl is garbage compared to this one.
