J.None was head hunted. approached by the US navy to sing with their musical section. Why wouldn't he take the chance to serve his country that way? This song was the last one he made with VoicePlay , explaining what he was doing. The other video he did with them at that time was My Best Friend. He came back when on leave from the navy to do Friends on the Other Side, and he's made a number of their mini videos too since leaving the group.
J None accepted an offer from the US Navy, and is now singing with the Navel Band Northwest. On leave, he has recorded Friends on the Other Side, and several minis with VoicePlay. (Have you been on VoicePlay’s Mini channel? They’re short, so many reactors do a couple in one reaction.)
He was to have recorded another full video with VoicePlay this fall, but the Navy changed his plans. So that has been postponed until next year. But he has a few things posted on his own channel, including him opening a Major League Baseball game with the national anthem.

DeeJay did 4 performances with them in 2021 - the pandemic stopped touring with Hamilton, so DeeJay was available. He's back on the road now, but they were in FL and he found time to record a couple of new performances with them - the Chipmunk Christmas song, and one more that hasn't been released yet. (And J None regularly says he WILL be back.... so it's clear there's no issues between them.)
When J,None left , VoicePlay released We're Good, which I believe was a message to fans. Plus he came back for Friends On The Other Side, when he was on leave, and has made some minis with them as well.

Just to add to everyone saying J. None joined the Navy as a singer, he's said he hopes to come back to Voiceplay when his enlistment is over.
Can't wait to have J. None rejoin Voiceplay. Have to admire the man for joining the Navy still seeing him rejoining and adding his considerable talents to Cesar, Geoff, Layne, and Eli and there will be mind blowing music made

Capable of helping Geoff with a bassline: Eli, JNone and Layne. All of them has done so I think.
There are snippets from JNones own channel, kindly re-posted by Huldra Draco on hers, that shows JNone going lower than we are used to hear in VP. He steals one of Geoffs lines at the end of the Mermaid Medley.
Layne while beat-boxing has gone lower than Geoff on occasions.
Eli has taken bassline whilst Geoff does a solo.
J None was recruited by the US Navy for his vocal talents. It's a 6 year stint and he close to having 2 yrs done. Once he got out of boot camp, he visited VP and did Friends on the Other Side. Have you reacted to Tennessee Whiskey? J None is in that one too.
