What I do is: 4 probe planet, just do 12/3/6/9 o'clock, for 6 just do 12/3/6/9 o'clock but slightly past the horizon and the 5th send straight down the middle, for 7 do 12/3/6/9 o'clock, one straight down middle, and one on back. 07
Anytime! For future reference though, stay away from mapping those. Even if it has water based life, you are wasting time with probing those value wise. The only ones you should be probing are terraformable high metal content worlds, terraformable Rocky worlds, water worlds (both terrafromable and non terraformable) and amonia worlds. Those are the only ones worth your time and they hardly reach around the 10 probe size. I dont have the link on hand at the moment, but I'm sure if you search youtube for videos explaining how to tell which planets are worth probing, you'll find exactly what you need! ObsidianAnt has a really good video explaining this and then you'll be set! Thanks for watching!
I'm really not sure what you are saying. To give you a little insight, I have a base ps4 and I use my dualshock controller. So I have the basics. Are you using a hotas by chance? I dont use anything but the basics, so I dont really know what you mean. Maybe we can get together sometime and figure it out? I am on the ps4 as well, so this was just to show patterns. I dont know of any other way to be honest
I'm doing a little critical thinking here as I boot up my game. Are you using your left stick or right stick to aim? Im going to do a little experiment right now to understand your problem. But as soon as you enter into your surface scan mode, one stick controls the placement and the other the zoom. I believe it is in order from left stick to right stick. I'm gonna try to understand the problem, but if you have the ability to send me a video capture of what you are talking about, id like to help you figure it out
When you aim further away from the planet you'll see this line made of 2 dashes and a dot. When you get that in the middle of your aim, that's when it counts as a "horizon". It basically makes it to where you are reaching to the direct sides of the ball (planet) and the further away you aim from that is like reaching around to the back end of the planet. Watch the video again with what I just told you to pay attention to because it isn't hard to miss sometimes. I hope I understood the question.

You actually have to have the throttle all the way down in the supercruise mode to activate the scanner. Once you activate it, you are only pointing the scanner which points the way your ship is facing. Other than that, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to move.

I'm also a beginner at making videos on how to do different things, not just for Elite Dangerous. Thanks! All I bothered with was my throttle speed. On my ps4 it is x+left= 75% x+down= 0% x+right= 100%
