Aww thank you. I have been working on a couple of ideas so I could get more substrate in a wired cage. I will be doing a video on it all at some point.
It's about as deep as you are going to get with a barred cage, but adding cardboard is a good way to get it deeper :) Enjoy setting up your new cage when it arrives.
Wish a I could get large quantities of megazorb...that coconut on a stand is really nice. The cardboard was defiantly a good idea. I want to copy your idea with the whicker tunnel.
I really like magazorb. I forget who's cage I saw the coconut in, maybe Ria's? The cardboard works fine till I have to lift the top part of the cage off. I think water hyacinth mats work better. I will do a video about it all at some point. The wicker tunnel is awesome, Star is always in and out of it.
Hi, I did plan to do that and I had it already to make but I don't think the footage was that good. But quickly, you can cut cardboard down or use different grass chew mats (safe for hamsters) and a safe string such as jute or sisal. You can tie to the inside or outside, I have done both. Star has cardboard tied to the outside of her cage and Luna used to have the chew mats on the inside. Depends if your hamster is a big chewer or not. The chew mats look more aesthetically pleasing than the cardboard, but I don't mind as long as my hammies are happy. Also, cardboard is free and you are recycling. Mats cost £2-£3 each. They are quite big - 3-4 can go quite a long way in a 80-100cm wired cage.
I love your videos, I often use your videos as inspiration for my cages, I found out that the seagrass mats you use in another vid are the exact width of the cage to save time cutting out cardboard and whatever
Hi sorry to keep asking so many questions 😂 but is the wheel in this video good quality, quiet etc because I’m struggling to find a big wheel that is good quality and quite cheap. Thank you
Hi I don't mind. Glad to try and help, This was the trixie wheel and for the price it isn't bad- but not totally quiet. In my opinion it is way quieter than the more expensive silent spinner (I returned mine). I think the Trixie could have been quieter if the stand didn't hit the wheel every now and then, other ones may be better than mine. Attached to the side of the cage it was better. I have to be honest and say that Star now has a silent runner (Silent but expensive) but I still use this for when she is free roaming.
With my cage setups you normally need 2 people to move them as they are very heavy. The cage itself is quite sturdy, but I would never lift it from just the bars, I always get my hands underneath the plastic base and lift from there, especially if it is a full cage. Hope that helps.
Hi, think you mean the house, with all the different partitions. It's a trixie labyrinth house. You can get them from Amazon or Zooplus if you are in the UK
where did you get the hanging tunnel? I have a bin cage and because of the mesh I have on top most hanging items with hooks cant fit in the holes. im sure I could easily attach it with the string
I think I got the tunnel from Zooplus, I think I did the unboxing in this video ua-cam.com/video/aQ7jfQB8Ssk/v-deo.html I then use jute string which i got from wilkos to attach it to the roof.
Hi, not entirely sure for this setup as I buy the 85 litre bag of Megazorb and it lasts me 2-3 months if not more. I only do spot cleaning during the week and a bigger clean every 4-6 weeks, but I don't have to clean the entire cage out. Hope that helps.
@@Speakmyheartdesire www.northerncropdriers.co.uk/megazorb-original/ you can buy it on amazon uk, Millbryhill or if you have a local equestrian type shop near where you live they may stock it.
Hey! I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about everything. And I hope you can forgive me. It's fine if you don't. I'm kinda saving up money to get a 40 gallon tank for my hamsters bc I have a small tank. And I'm trying my best to get all the important information I need for hamsters. Again I'm sorry! I will try my best to take the best care for my hamsters.
Hey no apologies necessary at all. I do not need to forgive you for anything at all. It will be great if you can get your hamsters a bigger tank. We all can learn new things everyday, I'm including myself in that as well. I am happy to hear you will try your best to take care of your hamsters. If you haven't already, check out Erin's animals and Victoria Raechel's channels, also a hamster forum such as Hamster Central if you have any questions or looking for information, or even if you want to ask me and I will help if I can.
Great video, but my only thing I have to say is: its a LOT of stuff. While accessories are great for hamsters, you can still have too much. Hamsters like to burrow so I do appreciate the deeper substrate, however, his tunnels and burrowing may be interrupted by the two half log type hides you stuffed into the bedding. While you gave your hamster a wheel to run/walk on, its still important that a hamster has enough room to still roam around the cage without being stopped by loads of hides and tunnels and accessories. This is not a hate comment, just constructive criticism. Overall a great video :)
Like all my cage set ups I will have watched how my hamster reacted when I put them in their cage. I always tend to end up changing something. Not sure what I changed in this instance as it was nearly a year ago when I had this setup. I think every hamster is different so you have to work out what is right for them. I like to help give ideas so people get a bit more creative in their cage setups. I hate to see bare hamster cages. Thanks for your comment. ❤🐹
No problem! I'm the more simple type of person so I guess I just prefer more simple setups :) but I do appreciate the size of the cage and the fact that it was a lot of natural wood!
@@crestie6185 Yes, each to their own I guess :) My hamsters are all rescues and some have come from horrific places so I probably do over compensate and spoil them, but I think they deserve it after everything they have been through. Thanks for your comments.
Good idea with the cardboard. You have a lot of great accessories for your hamster. Awesome video.
Thanks Jennifer. I'm trying to do my best.
I just LOVE this video , I love the set up, the cardboard idea, the coconut hide, the bending bridges and everything!!!
Aww thank you so much. Glad you like it. 🐹❤️
I love how you decorated it especially with the deep bedding on the left😍

Doing that with the cardboard is a great idea, I’m getting that cage and as the base isn’t very deep, I’ll probably do the same thing 💗

awesome cage set up! I really love the wooden levels that you added, what kind are they?
Thanks, they are the Trixie shelves, but you have to saw a little bit off one corner in order for them to fit in the cage.
Thanks for the info @@CosmicHamsters
Wow! Your gonna have a lucky hamster that’s definitely is gonna have a good life, seems like you have done your research 😂! Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks, Yes, I am always learning, This was for when I adopted Star last year and she liked it.
Great video! Nice big cage! :)
Thanks Abbey's animals. It's the best I can do without actually making one.

I have this cage, nice setup you have
Thanks and it's a good cage.
Do you find the cage sturdy ? Or will it fall apart when I move it around ? Lovely set up !

Loved the video! Do you think this is as big as a 30 gallon?
Thanks. I have no idea how big a 30 gallon tank is, but this cage measures approx 100cm x50cm x50cm
Where did you get the wooden maze thing?

where did you get the two tunnels on the huger bedding area??
I'm not sure, maybe zooplus. It was a couple of years ago now.
Hi I was just wondering what are the dimensions of this cage as I am thinking of buying. Thank you
It is 100cm x 50cm and 50cm tall.
Thank you
can you please show how to literally put it together from scratch? thank you
Hi, if you mean actually putting the Savic Plaza together, I have a video on that already: ua-cam.com/video/pDo0ALUfXaE/v-deo.html
Where did you buy the shelves
I think they are the trixie ones from amazon.
What substrate is that
Megazorb.
Can this be used for mice with and extra green platform and added hammocks?
I'm sorry I don't know about mice. You would be best asking on a mouse forum.
Yep it’s great for mice! The bar spacing is small enough for adult mice to not escape through it and it’s tall enough to have hanging enrichment x
What bedding do you use
In this video just megazorb i think, but at the moment I use a mixture of megazorb, aubiose and kaytee clean n cozy
@@CosmicHamsters thank you could I have a link for this bedding please?

will a 10 inch wheel fit in this??
Yes, my cages have 12 inch wheels in them.
