The devil has taken over me and my mind due to my own spiritual laziness. I am scheduling Confession today, just waiting for them to call me back. If not, I will call, again. I want to make a change. May God have mercy upon me. ☦️

Listen to this part again: approaching her teen years. So she was what? 11 or 12? What girl in the primitive middle east goes out to be abused by adult men? If Mary of Egypt remotely knew anything of sexuality it was bcz she was being raped at home incestuously by adult or older teen men. This story really makes me mad when I hear it starting out like this. Blame the female child for running away from sex abuse and then getting trafficked essentially. I'm sorry. I love Orthodoxy with every ounce of my being but some of the really outlandish legends are to be questioned. Talking about a little girl incapable of barely thinking much and no sex awakening---and you want me to believe the little girl burned with lust? I try not to tell lies. So no. I do not believe that slander against a child who was raped repeatedly when she ran to the streets. And then SHE did all the repenting which is what made her a Saint by the grace of Almighty God and the most holy Theotokos!
