How Do Zoos Celebrate Animal Birthdays?

Happy 16th Birthday to our resident Takin, Arnold, who is now the oldest Takin in the UK!
Takin are amazing animals native to Tibet and some provinces in China, where they are regarded as a national treasure! They live at altitudes above 14,000 feet in rocky areas; luckily, they are incredible climbers, with their tough, flexible hoofs they can climb steep mountains and rocky paths with ease.
Takin communicate through unique sounds like burps, coughs, whistles and trills. While generally quiet, they emit a loud whistle when expressing desire and a distinctive burp for needs!
