We've Welcomed 40,397 Students For Free... So Far [Schools Go Free]

Throughout 2023, Paignton Zoo and Newquay Zoo have been welcoming school pupils for free to experience the wildlife and nature we have to offer. So far, we have welcomed over 40,397 students from 1,116 schools so far. After the summer holidays we will be welcoming thousands more.
This is all because the year 2023 marks a momentous milestone for Wild Planet Trust. As Paignton Zoo celebrates its 100th anniversary, we are reflecting on a century of dedication to wildlife conservation and education.
To honour the legacy of zoo founder, Herbert Whitley, and his mission to use the zoo as an educational platform, we’ve been welcoming school groups at both Paignton Zoo and Newquay Zoo free of charge, as part of our Schools Go Free offer.
This initiative aims to encourage learning about nature and conservation, but also ensure these magical moments are accessible to every pupil, regardless of their financial situation.
We hope that the magic of observing wild animals up close and personal will leave a lasting impression on young minds and encourage a lifelong fascination of the natural world and a commitment to preserve it.
