I just bought a Jaguar XF 2011 Face-lift version, and the major thing that made me go for a Jag was your videos and your passion for the XF. Thanks for all the vids you put up of your XF keep it up.
Love the subwoofer location! Did not know that at all It would be awsome to see results of a full boot of stuff vs an empty one on the acoustics in the cabin
Had my 2.0 almost three years now, but learned a couple of tricks from your videos. The sub-woofer, would never had guessed that! Brilliant videos, well done Hilton!
Thank you Hilton, i have a Jag XF now for about a year, its is so smooth to drive, and i am lucky that the factory where it was built is about 15 minutes up the road in the UK thank you for the many posts
Congratulations on your purchase. You will be spoilt for all other cars now after owning this car. I have have such fond memories of this car even though I now have an XFR. My first XF is still fond in my heart and I wish I'd never sold it. That leather smell and plush ride. I can never forget. The XFR is a different beast. The ride is firmer and power is visceral. But my V6 was regal and more composed in it's power delivery. You will love that car no matter what.
@@carfanfan Thanks Hilton, the car won me from the moment I slid into the driver’s seat. I love the combination of power and refinement, bringing either to the fore with my driving style in the moment. I’m working through your catalogue so will comment more, I’m sure. Cheers, John
Hi Hilton, I've just bought a 2008 XF V8. I came across your series "Bet you didn't..." and have found it really useful. thanks for taking the time to make this series. One big question though. Your series was so interesting and helpful, why don't manufactures do this sort of thing as a matter of course. Cheers David
Thank you for your channel. I have a 2010 XF in Lunar Dust and it still spins alot of heads. It is the best car I have ever owned and it takes care of me. I don't know why some jerks (Scotty Kilmer) are so critical about Jag I have been a fan all of my life. I once had an Audi and a Nissan 300 ZX as the most expensive and their engines blew! Tsk tsk tsk. My Jag is going to be an heirloom!
The problem with Scotty is that he has never owned one. He sings Toyotas praises but like any car, if you don't look after it, it won't look after you. Your 2010 will go down in history as the best Jag ever built. Even I still drool when I see a 1st Gen XF 😁
Totally agree Manny, the XF is a hugely underrated car. I can never work out how somebody can slate a car if when they don't own them and have probably never even set foot in one. What do they hope to achieve? I test drove a new Toyota Avensis once and couldn't wait to get it back to the showroom. It was the most boring car I'd ever driven.
Hi Hilton, I pick up my XF 3.0 V6 D today, can't wait, Just wanted to say thanks for all your videos they have been very helpful for me choosing this car.
Hey Thomas, I take it you had a tire that was low on pressure at some point? There is no way to reset it on your screen. The system requires you drive for at least 70 miles after making sure your tires are at the correct pressure before it resets itself and the light goes out - if it doesn't, you have a faulty tire pressure sensor and will need to replace it.
Goodmorning Hilton, thank you so much for your videos, they were a great help. I would like to ask you for further help, could you kindly tell me how to adjust the internal rearview mirror of the jaguar xf? I recently bought this 2008 car but I can't find how to adjust the internal mirror and the manual only talks about the darkening sensor and I'm afraid of breaking something. Hope to hear from you, thank you very much.
The internal rear view mirror adjusts by hand. Just move it gently with your hand until you find your optimal viewing position based on your seating position. It isn't electronic so you don't have to worry about breaking anything.
If I recall, it was a center cap emblem that I measured out and bought on AliExpress. Measure the circumference of the inner part of the gearshift and simply order a Jaguar center cap sticker. You get them in black, red and silver I think. Search Jaguar center cap emblem on AliExpress and many will come up then just order the right size.
So, picked up my XF had it for 2 days now and it's absolutely stunning too drive I would post pics if I could, Again thanks for all the reviews on this car.
Hey Ben, glad you're enjoying it. Mine needs a wash LoL - I've been driving it quite a bit the past few days. Here's hoping you enjoy many more wonderful trips and miles with your XF. It's a cut above the rest!
Hi Hilton, my XF doesn't have the subwoofer but the connector appears to be there anyway - have you ever bumped into information about retrofitting one? I haven't found much on this. I suppose you've spent some time in the forums :)

Hey Arch, I will indeed. My car is going in for its annual maintenance next month and I usually do a video on the costs. It's currently in at the dealer having a new propshaft fitted - its a looong story, but I'll likely do a video on that too ;-)
Go into car settings in the menu. It's buried deep in the menus but just keep playing until you find it. The auto fold function is set in that screen too.
Hi Hilton, do you know if the wing mirror can be adjusted to a lower position when it dips in reverse? Mine doesn't dip very much at all on either the left or right side, it only ships very slightly. I tried adjusting it with the usual control on the door, which was fine, but the next time I tried it in reverse it reverted back to the original setting where it only dipped very slightly. Thanks for another great video, still learning new things every day about my XF
Yes, when you out the car in R, and the mirror dips, use the mirror control stick to move it to your desired position. Put it in P or D and it will go back to normal position. Now each time you put in R it will go to the position you set it at.
I have a 2014 jaguar FX. I took my battery out and closed the trunk now I can’t open the trunk and I don’t have the key fab with the spare key. Please help me open my trunk! Thank you!
Hmm, you pretty much screwed yourself there mate. Unfortunately the rear seat release is IN the trunk so that won't work either if you don't have the hard key and the XF doesn't have remote links under the trunk for jump starting like the Cadillac CTS has. You are going to need to get a hard key cut.
Hey there, if you own one, you will realize these cars like to be driven and not stand around. It's a comfortable everyday car. If you look at the used market, you will see many of them have over 120,000 miles on the clock. Just make sure you get one with full service history 😉
hey there, you can get the cover from AliExpress - here's a video I did on fitting it to my car - pretty easy to do and looks really good - check the description of that video for more links on other covers. ua-cam.com/video/Q85XLkSbTtQ/v-deo.html and here's a link to some tips on covering the wheel - ua-cam.com/video/bJd3cWxm4Ms/v-deo.html
Put the car in reverse, then adjust the mirror where you want it to dip and put it back in drive. Make sure mirror dip is set to on in your car settings in the screen first though.
Hi James. The fog light is not Led. It uses a stands H16 bulb. You get led H16 bulbs which you can replace it with though. There are two grooves on the plastic housing of the bulb. These grooves need to match your car's holder. From what I recall there are types of H16 one with wider grooves and one with narrower grooves. Not sure which the fog lights use though.
Don't be scared, it is just like any other car. They are mostly very reliable. High mileage might bring with it some issues, but you'd get that with any other car of same age and mileage. The 2L petrol is a good buy, but the 3L super charged has coolant leak issues, so don't buy one of those. Go for a 5L V8 or a 2L petrol and it will be pretty reliable.
Aliihsan AKSOY Sad to hear that. What did you replace it with? I'm currently thinking of a replacement as well and the Mazda CX-5 is now on the shortlist, a very shortlist of one 😁
Hilton I intend to buy a new Mercedes E220d. My Jaguar had no problem, it was standard "EURO 4". In Belgium, in Brussels, a new law requires us to change cars in relation to pollution standards (EURO 1 TO EURO 6).

Great series, just bought an old one, 2010 premium and its going great! Your videos are very informative, thanks
Love the subwoofer location! Did not know that at all

Thanks David. I wondered the exact same thing because the car has so many hidden quirks that are beneficial to the owner so I just did my own videos 😉

Errol - Brilliant and so knowledgeable as usual.
Yep, another great video. You are so right didn't know about these features. Thanks.
Brilliant Hilton. Amazing what secrets the Jaguar XF has! :-)

Hey congrats Ben. Let us all know how its going after a week or so. You will love it 😉
Brilliant learnt so much.
Hello Hilton. How would I reset the tire pressure low warning on my dashboard screen? Thank you. Thomas
I have a 2011 Jaguar XF Thanks

I ws wondering fr subwoofer too
Brilliant videos, I’m watching the back catalogue and learning loads of new stuff about my Jaguar XF 👍
Thanks for watching Gavin ;)
Interesting as always. Thanks for the vids/info.
Love my XF :-)

Just bought an XF 2011 model. Its awesome. Just found the red hook floating about in the boot (trunk). I now know what its for lol 😂
Hey Hilton,
Where can we order that nice gear shifting Jaguar emblem? and how to adjust it on the shifting gear?
Greets Paul
If I recall, it was a center cap emblem that I measured out and bought on AliExpress. Measure the circumference of the inner part of the gearshift and simply order a Jaguar center cap sticker. Thank you soo much for this video series. I'm just discovering my newly acquired 2010 XF.
Congrats on your purchase! You are going to love that car like no other ;)
@@carfanfan For sure, it's an S, 3l Diesel. Somewhat sensible for the daily use and still sporty enough.
Nice video mate!
Where do you get the Jaguar knob shifter from???

Has xf 2017 model hasn't got trunk liner on top?.thanks
@user-ge3qc9uo4r Depnds on the spec. Some have it and some don't.
Hi. Can you do a reliability video on your model? Like how many miles you drive each year and how much for maintenance
Hey Arch, I will indeed. My car is going in for its annual maintenance next month and I usually do a video on the costs. It's currently in at the dealer having a new propshaft fitted - its a looong story, but I'll likely do a video on that too ;-)
Hilton Thank you!!
The mirror tilting in reverse is standard on all xf’s? I have a 2013 and I didn’t know about it. Also I don’t know how to adjust it.
Go into car settings in the menu. It's buried deep in the menus but just keep playing until you find it. The auto fold function is set in that screen too.
