Two words. Open world. RE engine is overrated in terms of optimization because people have used to it's linear games

RE Engine is overrated imo, RE4: Remake runs terrible compared to 3 Remake and Village, doesn't look that much better either. Seems Capcom is on a mission to make this engine as heavy as possible and as unoptimized as they can, quite sad and pathetic. This is also 30 fps on PS5 with lots of drops apparently, so even on console, their "optimization" failed.
The engine is good for non-open world games or semi open-world such as RE4: Remake or RE: Village open areas, but if there's a huge, vast open world, seems it can't do it right. And tbh, all RE Engine games on PC always have some form of stuttering, even if minor, so this game has a bit of UE legacy in it, sort to speak.

Denuvo AND bad optimization. A match made in hell.
It's borderline unplayable, really disappointing from Capcom. We knew it would be rough but not even this abysmal. Also, Denuvo is here to ruin our day as well by reducing performance even further.
I guess with couple of patches and framegen mods its going to get better. rtx 3060 test? If possible can you test it in city(demanding areas)
also your cpu 13th gen cpu boosted the performance of 1650

Very cpu intensive game
This is the first game I can think of in a long time where having a good cpu seems to matter more than having a good gpu. I wouldn't have thought a 1650 could even run this at 30.
This was my first gpu from gtx series bfr upgrade to rtx series...happy to see it's still give a performance since 2019

How does it have fsr3 but not frame Gen, fsr3 upscaler is literally fsr 2.2 but with frame Gen so why is it named fsr3
fsr 3 is the updated version of fsr 2. The next version will be fsr 3.1 and so on. Blame nvidia who marketed dlss frame generation as dlss 3, but later decided to call it just dlss frame generation

It isn't possible, it's exactly what's happening
@@luigisellitto6265the game relies heavily on the CPU. Capcom uses denuvo on every title, and the vast majority of the run extremely well. It's not all denuvo.
I think in a more cpu-intensive games Denuvo can definitely affect your fps. I've tested several games with Denuvo and the "cracked" one, so far some of them gained a few fps but the most noticeable one was Hogwarts Legacy. I'm not sure yet about this game tho but most likely yes.

Their RE engine is not optimised for open world games. It confirms because of the fact that it is also cpu limited. They should have worked on that before releasing this game. Game also doesn’t look that great in terms of environment variety. On the other hand, horizon forbidden west looks great in terms of vegetation and foliage, volumetric clouds, lighting, shadows and yet it is so much better optimised than this game and also a fantastic port being a console game. Kudos to nixes and decima engine on which forbidden west is built on. I know people like to crap on Sony and playstation and time and time again they are setting the standards. Also their games on pc doesn’t have denuvo drm. I am not against competition as a user. Everyone else needs to step up their game. I mostly play on ps5, my gaming laptop is not that powerful . It is pretty cool that other pc games will be able to enjoy that game.

Yet that's how it should be from a good budget gpu.

When do people finally understand that the "Looks" of a game arent equal to the complexitiy of its engine and systems. Dragons dogma 2 is a very physic and system driven game. These systems are relying on the CPU Power. Horizon Forbidden west on the other hand is a original ps5 game optimised for the console as well. The ps5 has a very medicore processor so the game and the engine is designed around being more on the GPU heavy side than on the CPU heavy. Also Horizon Forbidden west is a pretty formularic open world game without any complex systems or phyiscs that have to be calculated in the background.
Also the game looks very good, maybe not as good as Horizon but in exchange you get a more physic and system driven game with a lot more depth to it outside from the graphical fidelity
@@harveyfredrickson826 Its because the CPU Is bottlenecking the 4090. The game is on the CPU heavy side because of the many systems, physics and npcs which have to be calculated all the time in the background. Thats why the performance drops are mostly in the cities and villages.

Dude..... both games have very different concepts of gameplay... HFW is like monster hunter... DD2 is like the son of Zelda games and Genshin impact combined with Monster hunter monsters.... Dragon Dogma franchise is not all about fighting monsters... the game is like GTA San Andreas where you can go to any City.. wreck some havoc... kill citizens and Kids... and even summong a Fcking UNDEAD DRAGON on front of the castle borders and watch all citizen, bypasser, and knights Massacred...

While the game has CPU limitations in it's current build/version, it is a huge open world game, that has little to no loading screens and ton of vegetation(plus other things going under the hood). The fact that the 1650 even runs at all is a miracle on it's own. When the recommended GPU for minimal settings is a 1070.
I know right, the era of 4gb vram graphic cards is over , a new triple A game even running at 30fps is a miracle these days but at the same time spending 60/70$ to play a game , like this ,is definitely not worth it
Horizon Forbidden West is a big open world game with arguably even more vegetation and wayyy better graphics, yet it runs very well. This is not an excuse

That means that it needs 8gb vram to run, gtx 1650 only has 4gb vram which explains the bad performance. Didn't you guys check the requirements of the game?

Did you see how the game runs on the series x/s and the ps5 + users with a 4090 paired with ryzen 7 cpus were also having a bad time due to framerates...
Plus this has nothing to do with the GTX 1650...Dragon Dogma 2 is an EXTREMELY CPU Bound...meaning you need a very powerful cpu for you get good frame rates and no bad fps drops...you can have a 2080 ti,3060,4060,4080 or 4090 with a ryzen 7 5800x...you'll still get bad frame rate drops...(notice how i said drops instead of bad framerates)
Elden Ring ran wonderfully on 1650 and it looks better than DD2 in every which way.
Heck, even Horizon Forbidden West runs wonderfully on 1650 and it's objectively a better looking game than DD2.
