James Henderson He was a member of the British Labour Party, an anti-nuclear activist, a supporter of campaigns to save libraries and hospitals, not to mention being a highly accomplished, versatile and admired actor. Hardly what one would call ‘a hardline Communist’. Shame on you for wishing a horrible illness like cancer on anyone.
bri jones, could not agree more. The greatest sitcom ever to have come out of Britain. I have the box set and have seen all the episodes over and over and over. Still laugh my head off. Sad how many of the cast have passed on. RIP all of them.
Fools and Horses was not written for the USA market, fortune2006, I could say the exact same thing about Cheers or Frazier, but there again, neither of those series was written for the British market.
It was the best show ever. The reason Americans might not think so is because their humor is so very, very different. I watch the show on BBC whenever there's a repeat and it doesn't matter how often I've seen it it's still hysterical. Those caters are all gone, " Rodney " passed away not too long ago. There won't be better coming. Good, clean humor every time. Take it from a " transatlantic " old lady.
Only fools and horses will never be beat, its the greatest comedy show ever by a country mile, the acting, the script, the characters, everything about it is pure class, ive watched every episode about a thousand times and never get sick of it, John Sullivan was a genius at writing this stuff an the actors were immense,, Leonard and Buster are two of the greatest legends of all time ❤️
Love the resigned ..."Here we go... 3...2...1.. ". But my favourite is when Uncle Albert is about to say it on another occasion, Del says "You aren't going to say ...During the war are you? Albert" says "No, I wasn't" and so lets him go on and brilliantly instead comes out with "During the 1939 / 1945 conflict with Germany...". Utter genius.
listen to him DAVE he knows what he's talking about. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍 legends. hand's down the British are the best comedian's in the world and a great sense of humour and great British whitt.
There's no competition against this, it's timeless, brilliant, they should have sent this serieswith the Tesla into space, on an HD screen built in the dashboard. It would run for millions of years.
This is literally without a doubt undeniably the GREATEST tv show of all time. Absolute comedy gold at it's best. This is the bar so high other shows can't even see it let alone touch it and there are some great shows out there. The writing, the acting, the characters and the chemistry between them are unmatched.
"3....2....1 during the war" superb timing and such {another} classic scene "he's trying to save Wales...no,no,no they don't get nothing not after they beat us at Rugby last year" - Del Boy classic
We will never see anything like this again in are lifetime. Kid's today don't know what they've missed. I've got my 13 year old grandkid watching it I've never seen him laugh so much 😂
Honestly two of my favourite comedies, fools and horses followed by Desmonds.... The timing was just second to 👌.... We ain't never going to see this sort of comedy again I'm afraid..
This is the most fantastically funny, most bizarre conversation ever. It’s my favourite scene ever. “Gawd knows what he saw, but that man never ate halibut again !”
Trigger “Like your worst nightmare, innit, Dave.” Rodney “No, my worst nightmare is sitting in a pub ‘avin a conversation with you two.” Trigger “Mmm!” ( nodding) 😂😂😂
"Fancy going to the pictures?" "What's on?" "Moby Dick." "Ooh no. I don't like porn films." "It's not porn, it's about whales." "No thanks, I don't like the Welsh either."
The funny thing is that Sir David Jason's mum was Welsh. She was from Carmarthenshire, which is the next county over from here (Swansea)! 🏴🏴🏴
A timeless classic those were the days when you could watch brilliant shows such as only fools and horses /open all hours /. Porridge / rising damp /faulty towers /stepoe to name a few and laugh with them. Unlike todays TV shows 90% Reallity crap.
It’s just line after line after line.. amazing. Even when Rodney says he’s glad to see Del, someone with some some intelligence... and Del says about Wales. 😂
The script, the delivery, the timing...it was immense
Trigger said the least words in the programme, but always killed it with his one liners, comic genius
Just brilliant. Trigger was my favourite character. He could get a laugh without even speaking! Don't know how he always kept a straight face.
James Henderson what do you mean?

One word to describe this sitcom "BRILLIANT "
“A dunno how anyone can fancy a whale” absolute comedy gold. Good old trig 😂😂😂

a gem of a comedy - no profanity, no smut - clean - just good, well-written comedy delivered by an ensemble cast.
No smut? Listen harder!
They profane quite a bit and racism homophobic and sexist conversation was prevalent...

Watching this the first time, it was fun to try to guess when Uncle Albert would say "During the war".

This was one of my favourites of Albert's war stories in the show.
Albert: "He put the periscope up at one point"
Trigger: "Up where?"
