The only thing that could be fixed is the font and size of the numbers on the bezel. They are wide and big/ stretched. Rolex could have kept the same font/ style of the numbers as the old GMT Master II.
As a BLRO owner ( bought in late2018 for £7,150) its a great watch and worth the RRP... but I would not pay over the odds for this , or any other watch.
@@damachine3Well, you purchased a 992 GT3 RS. I guess it doesn’t really matter if you get it from the AD or pay a few thousands more on the grey market. ;)
@Pepsi Haha, perhaps, but I don't like wasting money no matter how much money I have. I was just responding to where he said you won't find one at your AD. I also didn't pay over sticker for any of my Porsches...not my 992 GT3 RS, GT4 RS, or my 992 GT3. But I own a 992 GT3 Cup car, so I'm connected. We are profile pic bros, btw!
I bought my Batman some years back for £5500. I bought it because this pepsi did not exist at the the time. Now owning both I definately prefer the pepsi although im not a fan of the jubilee on on. (I changed it for an oyster bracelet). As much as I love my daytonas I still prefer this.
Same here, purchased it for $19k, tried on the batgirl and it simply doesn’t stand a chance against the pepsi. In person it is simply stunning. Keeping it for life.
Stunning watch with a historic background. Perhaps Cultivated World is afflicted with Rolex or some retail outlet that sells Rolex which is clearly why you have a bias towards the prices staying high which is understandable. But sorry I don't agree that the price will be 2 or 2.5 times the list price as you can see it has come down already from the hype.
I don't believe its a hype. I believe people realize this watch is one of Rolexs most beautiful watches. I think the prices will remain steady and when discontinued will reach the high 25,000-30,000 USD
I would say there is a bit of hype - simply due to the scarcity of the watch. That having been said - it is one of the few watches I really took notice of on someone’s wrist. Others include: IWC pilot, a beautiful Patek, a Fifty Fathoms. A Royal Oak. So it’s in good company.
On a somewhat related topic, I noticed that my local AD is beginning to have more of these desirable models in stock. Was able to pick up an Explorer without a long wait myself and saw a two-tone Sky-Dweller on their display today. I think Covid-19 is having an impact on buyer confidence
It’s not seamless though. That’s the point. There is a seam. The blurred, interlaced and “seamless” blending of ceramics that Rolex have achieved the avoidance of is what makes the bezel insert of this GMT great. Seamless doesn’t automatically mean better.
I really like your videos. Thanks again for the splendid quality. In regard to the pepsi hype I don‘t understand the hype at all. Even though it‘s a nice piece there is other nice models I‘d prefer - even for the price.

I will only pay retail. Don’t make sense paying double. The watch is beautiful, prefer Pepsi over Batman. Plenty of options and sure not worth throwing money to greed.
I love this watch but the games played by the ADs is not worth the nonsense required to buy one. We should not have to beg for a watch. And only a fool would buy other watches to hope to be placed on a multi year waiting list. I believe that Rolex fans are going to grow tired of the games and will move on to other brands which one can actually purchase. Also paying 5x retail at a grey market is also ridiculous. I am retiring in the next 3-4 years so hopefully Rolex will fix it's distribution issues before they destroy themselves.
These are trading for $20K - $30k or more for a standard black dial version. But, does that mean someone is actually paying that amount? If they are, wow.
This question is for Rolex experts here: When the back of a Rolex GMT (or Submariner) is opened, does the watch need to be pressurized for proper water-proofing?
If you have the money to buy one you're still not going to get one unless you're a close friend or relative of an A.D. Try the Tudor GMT for similar performance at less than half the price and available without having to beg a dealer.
I was going to pull the trigger on the Tudor because the GMT Pepsi was almost impossible to buy. The date wheel issue is what kept me from doing it. I had 2 opportunities to get the Tudor but just got cold feet over Tudor’s inability to fix an issue where consumers have sent the watch in 3 times for servicing the same issue. Yesterday I get an email where Jonashop is offering a $600 discount coupon code on the Tudor GMT. Being interpreted: when gray market sellers begin to discount the high sought after Tudor GMT, they’re dumping a known problem at a discounted price. Plus, you lose the 4 year Tudor warranty and have to suck up to Jonashop. You lose either way.
Since the relaunch of the new Kermit the old Kermit gray market price has dropped and the Hulk as added $5k on average due to it being discontinued, in my opinion , plus I hate being on a wait list to give away my money, but I love my Rolex watch and I am hoping maybe this year I can get my third one( only buy from an AD ). Nothing like it when you wear one and enter a room, The conversation, complements , the jealousy etc. If they do something new to the GMT the prices will change for good or bad. For me I would pick up the Batman first and the Pepsi second as the latter is still in production.
Beautiful watch in Blue and Black or all black. But this in Purple and Pink I will pass. Tried one on and colours are terrible. Even Steinhart can get the ceramic colour correct.
The first batch of these watches did come with a "purple and pink" bezel, as you say. However, Rolex have now improved the bezel and the colours are much better. There are countless pictures on the internet showing the first bezels and new bezels together and there is a clear improvement.
Hype is in the eye of the beholder. I’ll pay retail before I decide to pay a premium on anything. I’d rather give my money to a Rolex AD than a secondary market. Would you pay 2.5 ounces worth of gold for 1 ounce of gold?
