The aluminium bezel catches the light so beautifully.
Newer model looks dull in my view.
Great vid though!
Thanks Dylan!
I prefer the older model. Its my dream watch.
Great video and explanation! I really love both models.
Great video. Very informative.
Love the video, please do more of them. They really help especially since its so hard to see these in person.
I have the old style and i paired it with a date-just 116234 jubilee with the hidden clasp and its perfect. I highly recommend it if your like the old style and prefer a jubilee bracelet.
Pepsi belongs on a Jubilee, if my A.D. offered me one I would be down there in a shot.
Great video thank you.
Hi Dylan. Can you please review the VC Overseas 4500 model please? I’m quite tempted to pick one up and would be keen to hear your thoughts. Thanks
I have a 2002 Pepsi and I wanted to see the difference in the old and new so thank you for the video
The 2018 Pepsi with the jubilee is on a different level!
Man it's the new guy for me. I have hugh hands and wrists both are knock outs but the new one is absolutely beautiful!!!
Gmt is not only for pilot mate. Can be suit on businessman travelling for work and i think polish bracelet in the middle is a great work by rolex
16710 !🤩
The clasp and bracelet that you are showing on the old Pepsi is the exact clasp that I own on my Pepsi Rolex which is almost 40 years old so I guess it's time to change the pins LOL
The old font is much nicer
Great video! Prefer the 16710. Looks vintage-y. Like something Thomas Magnum would wear.
You're one of the 3 best watch reviewers on UA-cam together with Oisin O´Malley and Hafiz mehmood
Hi from Holland
I love my 16710 Pepsi 40mm almost new and I very seldom use it. For everyday use I wear my Tag Heuer Carrera. The one your featuring was exactly thesame one I’ve got.
The watch needs to be accurate because it tells time. I think new Pepsi 's caliber 3825 is much better than 3185 ( 16071). The new caliber has parachrom hairspring and it will not get magnetized. 3185 gets magnetized very easily. Yes, both movements can operate between +/- 2secs.
But if you bring a small magnet near 3185( 16071) movement. it will get magnetized and start running 20 secs faster or slower. but the new movement 3285 will not deviate from its accuracy even if you stick the magnet on the case back. This is really cool.
The new Pepsi has triple lock system. Thus provides more resistant to water and moisture. My only complain about the new Pepsi is the size of the font of the number used on the bezel. The numbers look too big. Thus really made Pepsi like a rugged instrument.
Yes, charm and looks count but the most important thing to remember is that this is a watch an instrument to tell the time. It must tell the time as accurate as possible.
pepsi with jubilee is stunning
Doesn’t bijou mean diamond?
I own both (my five digit is a 2007, Z serial, error sticks) and love both equally, but for very different reasons.
Hi damachine3. Hope you are ok. Please can you explain what you mean by the error sticks. Cheers.
damachine3
Hi,
I also own a 5 digit z serial 2007 Pepsi.
Not a stick dial, but considering it was close to last of the run, would you think it possibly might have the upgrades 3186 movement inside?
Yet to service the piece.
Best Regards.
@Larry Kipping "Error Dial" Notice after the lettering GMT-MASTER II the 2 is not a roman numeral 2 as it has been since the release of the 16710. It is what Rolex aficionados and collectors call "sticks."
These are taking a dip now going for about 15K
Plant-Based MD Will go even lower
Great video, and I absolutely agree about the old clasps - I have one on a submariner, and it's not terrible but it's far inferior to the modern kind.
Blue on this bezel looks like more of a purple colour and red looks like more of a pink colour. Is it the lighting in this video or is this really the true colour I am seeing?
I own both models and, unfortunately, that's really what you're seeing.
Dylan has the MK1 model, produced for only a few months before Rolex (so typical) changed it. The MK2 has deeper hues of red and blue. Again, people talk about investment, collectability of MK1 vs supposed closer more faithful reproduction of color on the MK2
2018 pepsi best watch ever
The old one is way more sexier
Old one all the way!
Old Pepsi was on white gold ?
I know which one I prefer, the 16710. The new ceramic bezel is anemic, dull and lifeless. The lugs are way too fat, in fact the whole case suffers from middle age spread. Let's be honest, the GMT has almost become a Submariner by proxy!
Really tired of hearing so much about the Rolex Pepsi. I wish you reviewers would mix things up a little. How much more is there to say about this specific watch?
You are one posh dud
Old version looks so poor and smaller .... maxi case of new GMT2 looks awesome.... plus aluminum bezel compared with ceramic has much more lower quality....
new one is screaming
Seeing them for 15k now when a week or two ago they were 18-19k. These will drop further as the flippers hoarding these pieces starting losing a lot of money and can’t move these overpriced mass produced nothing really special steel watches of instagram. Hang on for the ride, it’s gonna be bloody.
This comment didnt age well
@@eduardwork9192 was about to say exactly the same thing. I'm lucky to have a long standing relationship with my AD so it's only a few months wait to get this instant classic on my wrist. Looking really forward to it
@@eduardwork9192the doomer doesn't know what QE meant
Great video and explanation! I really love both models.
