Latest update on the underground cabling project along C. M. Recto Avenue, Davao City
DAVAO Light and Power Co. Inc. (Davao Light), an AboitizPower distribution unit, has completed its underground cabling activities along C.M. Recto Street from corner San Pedro Street to corner Ramon Magsaysay Avenue in Davao City.
"The underground cabling along C.M. Recto Street is now fully energized with all customers in the area connected. We finished removing power lines, distribution transformers, 64 Davao Light poles, and energized the street lights in the area. We reached 100 percent completion progress just in time for the 36th Kadayawan sa Davao, making this an even more meaningful feat for the city,” said Engr. Enriczar Tia, assistant vice-president, Technical Support for Engineering.

Wires all over give places the label, "Third World Country." Get rid of the wires and WOW!!!! It looks soooooo much more beautiful. LONG OVER DUE!!!! I'm sure there will be a lot less power outages once they fix all of this. Now foreigners will be proud to come over and be tourists and have nice photos to share with the world! THANK GOD somebody working there is cleaning Davao up! The crime is going away and now the city is really beginning to look beautiful! I LOVE IT!!!!

Malabo nayan sa metro manila, dapat nung una papang like sa BGC kasi walang maiistorbo na mga opisina alam mo namn sentro ito ng kalakalan at iba pa atska mas lalong tra traffic kapag sisimulan na maghukay need pa magsarado ng lane at magastos higit sa lahat bahain yung ibang parte. Dapat yung una nilang pagtuunan ng pansin yung drainage lalo na pilipinas daanan panaman ng bagyo mahirap na🤣

This is not an initiative of Sarah Duterte.... it started under PRRD with the initiative of late councilor Leo Avila... this project is already ongoing when Sara took over the city as mayor.

@@ArchitectStudio The placement of wire cables underground started last 2014 around the City Hall Drive during PRRD as mayor... it was the pilot project. After successfully buried the cables, a second ordinace was drafted requiring electrical and telco wires to be buried underground along the streets of CM Recto, San Pedro, Ramon Magsaysay, Bangoy, Bonifacio, Pelayo and Quirino. So it's a long way to go and it doesn't even included the JP Laurel and MacArthur Highway which for me is going to be awesome if they include these streets for underground cables. Hopefully another ordinance will be drafted. New CBD's here in Davao like DGT are going to have underground cabled streets....
