I keep coming back to you and this Chris Stapleton song to watch you guys get knocked down by Da Man! It always makes me smile to watch you two get completely blown away … life and laughter is good with you and Chris Stapleton. Later …

Tbh you just dont find talent like that anymore. So grateful we have him for this generation. He definitely sings from the soul. Which is another thing most people dont do anymore! Wish he could give me some tips and tricks to better my vocals!
@@The_Hillbilly_Hacker Probably right. They were heavy on the blues too . LZ was influenced by the blues originals... Likely the same people who influenced Otis, Ray and Skip.
My wife and I have actually lost sleep binge watching these videos.... we have a lot of respect for you both. Great open mind and analysis of the lyrics... Keep up the good work.
Have you seen his cover of The Allman Brothers Band “Whipping Post?” If you have, then you know what I’m talking about but if not, go do it right now!! You won’t be sorry 🎶🎧 It’s amazing 😉

First notes coming out of his guitar YOU knew it was going to be FIRE! George & Ryan you are the best there is. Period. All the other channels that do this, DON’T do it this way.....FIRE. Thanks brothers.
Just being able to sing like that would make him incredible. BUT then you realize he is the writer of these unbelievably great songs AND he is also the guitar player!! Trifecta of greatness!
Chris Stapleton is a musical genius.. He's been writing songs for well known country singers for years.. He also wrote a song for Adele.. I was so happy when he released his own albums because not only can he write a lyric he can sing one!
These guys are awesome. Out of the dozens of "reaction" posters here on UA-cam, they are the ones I enjoy most. They analyze the songs they're listening to with great detail and you can definitely notice if they're really enjoying what's being listened to. It's also cool to see that "white" music is not so unknown to the black community anymore, due to guys like them. So, here in miserable 2020 when the pandemic and racial divide is devastating all of us, it's really nice to see harmony among folks with different colors who are connected by one simple thing: MUSIC.
I have a theory about Chris Stapleton. Everybody knows that R&B and Country music are closely related, One night R&B and Country got drunk and became kissing cousins and the result was a mutant child with the vocal ability to wield the power of the gods themselves. He uses this power to strike at the core of people and move their souls. This is just my theory. LOL
R&B is a product of old world Country/Blue Grass. All modern musics roots are in Country. So, this style is reflective of the Old country roots of blues.
I gotta say, you guys mirror my sentiments and reactions to his music and music in general. I go on musical journeys with my headphones on and go off on tangents to anyone that would listen. Music saved my life. Definitely subbed!
I was smiling ear to ear as soon as this popped up and it never left! I believe he said his dad used to play a lot of old school R&B and I know Alan Jackson was his dad’s favorite. As far as seeing him live, he is incredible live!!! Other Stapleton songs y’all need to tackle-Either Way, Nobody’s Lonely Tonight, A Simple Song, *Fire Away (watch the video it’s powerful)*, Drunkard’s Prayer, Whiskey and You. Please!!!
Very recently, Chris was saying his biggest influence is Ray Charles. I’m sure 50 people have already told you, but I ain’t got time to review ALL comments.
Just a small tidbit, Chris Stapleton has a degree ( I think a masters) in Engineering! He went to college first then began his music career! Thank God he chose music! He also plays all the great guitar riffs you guys like. And if you get to see him live, you can literally feel his voice in your chest! It’s great!
Saw Chris at Jones beach Long Island NY. Every time his band and wife took a break he stayed out and played solo. Never took a break. Stayed with the audience the entire show.
I think I was introduced to Chris Stapleton by randomly watching his NPR tiny desk concert, and in turn getting recommended your reactions. How I found your channel, and still my fave of your reactions. Those concerts have been a great way to find great music that you might not normally listen to.
Most people are familiar with his Traveler album. But From A Room Vol I and From A Room Vol II are smashers. Get em. Also, if you really like him and need more, dig into the band The Steeldrivers. He sings a lot of lead for them, there's two other singers as well, a lady and another guy, but I would say Chris does the lions share. They're incredible.
Look. I'm a UA-cam commentor or UA-cam-er's. And I will absolutely say without a doubt.... Y'all are the realest most intellectual reactors of real shit!! Keep doing exactly what you're doing!!!!
Chris Stapleton has a lot of crossover appeal for sure. This is more blues and soul than country to me. What does it matter though? He's just damn good. Rock on LiV! Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
Zachary Allen The origin of country music is a combination of blues and folk music. From the Irish in the mountains who was impressed by the black mountain ppl they heard play.
WOW!!! Yeah, I got my tickets to see him in Columbia, SC later this year and I can’t wait!!! It’s wrong to just tie him down to country alone. That talent is so much more!!!!
cassidymd72 Dang, Charleston in the house...thanks I used to be ON TOP of the music scene, getting old I guess. Thanks for putting me on with your comment 😁
cassidymd72 you won’t be disappointed we saw him last year and are going to see him again in Oct in ATLANTA. Was hoping to get tickets for the Columbia show since we are in Lexington, but couldn’t bring myself to drop that much since we were doing the Atlanta show to.
I'm not a modern day Country Music fan, but someone sent me a song and demanded I listened to it. It was this one. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! My God! I came off my couch! After that I went into finding his albums. Absolutely phenomenal voice!
I just love you guys. Your open minds to the different genres of music. I live in Vegas too, LOVE all genres of music. And you two are awesome to watch. Cutie pies for sure!!!
Listen to Chris sing the songs he’s written for other artists over the years. Dude crushes each and every one. Unbelievable talent, we’re so lucky to get to experience his gift
For sure! He crushed "if it hadn't been for love" live at ascap.. Honestly not a huge adele fan though she can sing, no way her version of his song compares to his version!
Y'all should really do Chris Stapleton- Either Way. I was put onto Chris by this channel. I've checked out almost all of his songs and Either Way is my favorite.
I love that they can appreciate country music most people just don’t give it a chance and say they don’t like yet they have never listen to it. But y’all keep up the good work best music reviews in the game
I love you guys and I love Chris Stapleton, how did I miss this!? As a hip hop head the dude just makes real life music I can relate to. Put it on when I cook for my kids. Put it on when I’m driving. He’s made his way into my life.
Man, me too. Cuz, I've downloaded about 25 of his songs since hearing this! i've been a hip hop head all my life, 50 years old in two weeks. Can't get enough of Chris Stapleton. This dude is amazing! Whenever he comes close to Charlotte NC, I'll be the black dude in the front row singing along!
Hi guys just found your channel and love it! Some of my very close cousins actually used to play with JT (the bass player) and chris when they lived here in Kentucky about 20 years ago. I live in morehead right beside the same place they used to jam and grew up playing with the same folks they did. I can tell you there is ALOT of blues that used to come from these guys. Lots and lots of Hendrix and stevie ray etc. They moved to nashville a few years later to be the Jompson Brothers one thing, led to another now we have chris Stapleton. In my opinion JT is a fundamental necessity to,this band they have been playing for years together and you can tell. Back when, they played around, here i was only about 4 or 5 years old. But i will never forget hearing them. 🔥
Chris Stapleton jumped to my attention when he and Justin Timberlake sang on the 2015 CMA award show. First time I heard him. I was immediately a fan. If you want to watch an electrifying performance, watch that!
jessica bonner I came across him by accident several years while watching Adele sing a song called "If it hadn't been for love". If you know anything about Adele then you know she likes to talk and she was talking this song by a bluegrass group called "The Steeldrivers". Of course I had to look them up and I was blown away by Chris Stapleton's voice. At the time he was no longer in the group but still did not have his own record contract and I couldn't believe that.
Stapleton's music influences range from outlaw country and bluegrass to rock and roll and blues.[71] Editors from NPR and Paste magazine described his sound as a blend of country, classic rock and Southern soul.[72][73] Before going solo, Stapleton led the progressive bluegrass band The SteelDrivers and the rock and roll band The Jompson Brothers.[74] His first solo album Traveller is an old-school country, Southern rock and bluegrass record,[75][76] and his second From A Room: Volume 1 focuses on country, blues and roots rock.[77] He played the acoustic guitar and electric guitar for both albums.[78][79] Stapleton is a soul singer[80] with a tenor vocal range. After attending one of his concerts in 2015, Los Angeles Times' writer Randy Lewis opined his singing recalls "the note-bending style of country that traces to Merle Haggard and Lefty Frizzell and the gut-wrenching expressionism of blues and R&B perfected by Ray Charles", while his guitar performances elicits "memories of Texas blues rocker Stevie Ray Vaughan."[5] Stapleton has cited Charles, Otis Redding and Freddie King as some of his music influences,[81][82] along with Kentucky-based country artists, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam and Patty Loveless: "the list goes on and on. Those names are just part of life in Kentucky. You can't help but be aware of them and be influenced by them."[12]
Ain’t gonna lie...I never had a man crush before and I’m glad I can go through it with somebody else lol...this dude can freaking sing like nothing I’ve ever heard!
I remember him saying in an interview that his major influences are guys like Waylon Jennings and George Strait. Also a lot of Motown influences like Etta James, Ray Charles etc.
The only recording ive found is a live recording from the audience, but this is true... his cover of Nothing Compares is easily one of his top 3 jaw dropping displays of soul n talent.... it MUST be the next thing yall hear from Stapleton!!
The dude should cover Simply Red's ' holding back the years' he definitely has very similar tonal qualities. Incredible tone, incredible pitch and incredible choices in notes hit during runs. Insane voice.
I adore you two. It's so much fun watching your reactions and listening to WHY you think the singer is so good! Bring US together!!! I'm an older white woman and you are making me listen to this music in a different way. Thank you
Right there with you, sister. :-D The world would be a much better place if we all spent a lot more time sharing great music that unifies us instead of fussing over differences.
Ooh, bold strategy, Cotton. I'll have to check that out. Stapleton is on a short list of singers who, if you told me they were tackling that song, I wouldn't immediately just say "nah, I'm good."
Joe Day I’ve learned that if it says FT Chris Stapleton it’s hit or miss but if it is an original or cover he burns it to the ground leaving only ash and embers.
I really want to thank you for putting me onto this! I was just letting UA-cam play when you guys put Chris Stapleton on! I was sawing a piece of wood for a project, and I just stopped. I turned off the saw. I turned off the dust collector. I told the kids to put a sock in it. I paused the video to wait for my wife to get off the phone. (Marry a woman you love like that before you call me whipped) Then I pulled it up on Apple Music, turned it up and stopped the world for five minutes.
By far the greatest songwriter and voice in recent times. He is an UNTOUCHABLE talent. So stoked and happy to see the excitement in your videos for Stapleton.
The good Lord blessed this man with three amazing skills that separately can rip out our hearts and stomp on them but when he puts them all together (his voice, guitar playing, and songwriting) nothing can compare he is the all around most talented man in the business and every song makes you feel something
Sean Everhart seriously... it’s so rare that you find an artist with just ONE of those 3 and he literally has all of them. It’s amazing, really. Agree 100%.
I haven’t found anything yet I don’t like of his it’s all so pure... it’s exactly what music is supposed to be and takes us exactly where it’s supposed to. It’s sad though it took Justin Timberlake singing with him for a lot of people to wake up to him when he has been working hard at this for a long time.. You won’t see many more with the natural God given talents he has, he is one of those very blessed few that makes our days a little brighter when that song comes on the radio, thank you Chris keep it up!
Sean Everhart exactly. I’m guilty of that. Once I discovered him on that CMA Awards performance with Justin Timberlake, I’ve been hooked ever since. Now I know every word to every song on his three albums, along with every word to every song on the Steeldrivers first two albums haha he’s no doubt a legend in the making.
Only Chris Stapleton can make “I” into a 7 syllable word.
And make it sound fire while doing it
Also just a southern thing.....we can bend a single syllable word even in just regular speech.
you win the comment section of this video!!!!
Lol! There's quite a few singers I know that can do that, bro.
Oh please!!!
Not trying to bandwagon, but these two really do a lot to bring people together. It is inspiring.
Jason Brewer I agree. Their love of music is inspiring
What’s inspiring is that it works. Now, if only we can stop Maxine Waters and the haters....
Caerlaverock Jaguar Well if it makes you feel any better I have no idea who Maxine Waters is, never heard that name.

If somebody says they don’t feel him, they are empty inside.

He can sure make that guitar sing as well and feel every note and the pain trying to convey in a song the man is made of God givin talent ❤
I am now an official fangirl of Chris Stapleton and you guys I love it!!!!!
Oh me too!!!
Damn, my favorite Chris Stapleton song yet...
I'm not a modern day Country Music fan, but someone sent me a song and demanded I listened to it. It was this one. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! My God! I came off my couch! After that I went into finding his albums. Absolutely phenomenal voice!
If this song doesn't move you...then there's no hope for you. You guys do a great job. Thanks.
I LOVE this song, and I LOVE this reaction!!!
The only problem with yalls Chris Stapleton reactions is that I can't like the videos more than once
Eric Hanna agree
Ditto
Either Way is his most well written song
Either way is a song that hits you deep in your soul.
Either way is my favorite. I also really love his cover of last thing/first thing.
Man I’m all for this! I’d love to see their faces when he sings the chorus. “We can just go OOOOONNNNNNNN like this” haha it’s awesome
Agreed. Prob my fav song of his.
I love that they can appreciate country music most people just don’t give it a chance and say they don’t like yet they have never listen to it. But y’all keep up the good work best music reviews in the game
Lmao 🤣 you guys are hysterical with your reactions lol 😂 !! Nice 👍 great job on a great song !! Chris is one of a kind
You guys put a smile on my face. Your reactions are priceless!
I just love watching you guys rock out...!
Damn!!! I had no idea Chris Stapleton was this good. Thanks for the turn on
Hi guys just found your channel and love it!
Judy Jones Justin Timberlake ruins it.
Here's an fyi, every song on this album is great! EVERY song I kid you not! You guys are the best! Keep it up fellas!
Tom Reyes today I smoked them stems
RAID3R63 sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Just discovered you two yesterday and can’t get enough! I love all genres of music and love how you tap them all. You rock!
Just listen to this whole album guys it's amazing
RAID3R63 agreed
Right?!
Love Broken Halos.
Yes!!!!
Absolutely! This and I can’t stop listening to the Traveler album!
My first time watching y'all!!!
Y'all are too cute!!!!!
If you have a soul.... Your gonna love Chris!!!!!
Joyel Lee I just found them, and all the reaction videos. Love it! I love witching people discover music, and love what they're hearing
He's said several times in interviews that he was influenced by Outlaw Country and R&B from the 70's.
killatella90 the r&b from the 70s part makes perfect sense as to why his sound feels like home although I've never really listened to country.
jessica bonner I came across him by accident several years while watching Adele sing a song called "If it hadn't been for love".
JessBmine The r&b is probably where he gets most of his vocal influences. The lyrics are probably from the country
I've seen him in concert twice and have tickets already for 2023 because he is freaking awesome in concert.
Stapleton's music influences range from outlaw country and bluegrass to rock and roll and blues.[71] Editors from NPR and Paste magazine described his sound as a blend of country, classic rock and Southern soul.[72][73] Before going solo, Stapleton led the progressive bluegrass band The SteelDrivers and the rock and roll band The Jompson Brothers.[74] His first solo album Traveller is an old-school country, Southern rock and bluegrass record,[75][76] and his second From A Room: Volume 1 focuses on country, blues and roots rock.[77] He played the acoustic guitar and electric guitar for both albums.[78][79]
Stapleton is a soul singer[80] with a tenor vocal range. You can't help but be aware of them and be influenced by them."[12]
M Rebecca Powers this is one of the best responses to a question I’ve ever read. Thank you.
Dope..thanks for posting!
Ain’t gonna lie...I never had a man crush before and I’m glad I can go through it with somebody else lol...this dude can freaking sing like nothing I’ve ever heard!
Cris Stapleton is definitely an old soul.
See his "Live at Austin City Limits" version. 6 minutes of this song with 3 minutes of guitar solo.
Ryan Doel he killed it!!!!
Ryan Doel oh yeah 🔥
My favorite version of this song!
Your best reaction to date. I love this song, but watch it all the time for the facial expressions. My sentiments exactly where Chris is concerned.
It warms my heart watching two young black hiphop fans making stank-face to "white music." The universal language, y'all.
I remember him saying in an interview that his major influences are guys like Waylon Jennings and George Strait. Also a lot of Motown influences like Etta James, Ray Charles etc.
Indeed! And "Tennessee Whiskey" is a George Jones cover.
David Allen Coe wrote and originally recorded it then George Jones covered it.
It's A David Allen Coe song
Darin Kaintz no, it was originally recorded by David Allan Coe
Etta James or Ray Charles were never on Motown.
You guys need to watch Chris Stapleton’s tribute to Prince. His version of nothing compares to you 😮
Joshua Parsons yes! I’ve been saying that for how long!
In addition, I thought Corey Taylor did a great job with Purple Rain.
Chris cornell killed nothing compares to you
The only recording ive found is a live recording from the audience, but this is true... his cover of Nothing Compares is easily one of his top 3 jaw dropping displays of soul n talent.... it MUST be the next thing yall hear from Stapleton!!
Joshua Parsons absolutely. I was going to say that but you beat me to it.
The dude should cover Simply Red's ' holding back the years' he definitely has very similar tonal qualities. Incredible tone, incredible pitch and incredible choices in notes hit during runs. Insane voice.
A tasty tasty suggestions. Get er done
Mick Hucknell also has an incredibly soulful voice. I would also love to hear Chris do Try A Little Tenderness, as well as Hard To Handle.
I can sum up the major problem with this song in three words....
it's too short :)
Greg Kleinfall I totally agree my favorite song by him though
Look up his Austin City Limits performance of this song he croons for another three minutes!
Four words for me Greg..... I can't sing it!
that's 4 words ! but I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOU !!!
Fire Away-Chris Stapleton
MegaDaveMatthewsFan yep...has to be the video
Great song
Yep
Yeeeessss
Yes the video for sure
Can’t get enough of ole Chris!!! lol
Chris Stapleton does a cover of IT'S A MANS WORLD. Fire don't explain it!!
Ooh, bold strategy, Cotton. I'll have to check that out. Stapleton is on a short list of singers who, if you told me they were tackling that song, I wouldn't immediately just say "nah, I'm good."
He killed that song
Oh shit! Im afraid to listen...I might burst I to flames!!!
into*
Joe Day I’ve learned that if it says FT Chris Stapleton it’s hit or miss but if it is an original or cover he burns it to the ground leaving only ash and embers.
Michael Ballard Freaking good comment.
Michael Ballard ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Michael Ballard “and stopped the world for five minutes.” Yup! Well said
Well said! 👌
Michael Ballard,
Lucky woman your wife to have you stop everything and share 5 minutes like that with her.
Your faces took us on a journey and it was awesome.
Sean Everhart 100% facts
Indeed
Is it weird that I've watched this video a dozen times?
You mean in a day, Right? Why so few - you must not like it as much as I do
DWBwood me too🤣👍🏻
No!
A little yes
Nope I've made my 25 YO daughter that has her own home watch this at least that many times when she's over with my beautiful grandson
As far as influences, I would think Stevie Ray Vaughn...yall should do some SRV. Tightrope, Texas Flood, Pride & Joy. Awesome channel!
Or Life Without You. SRV was really improving his vocal game on that one.
Texas flood would be great
Or Tin Pan Alley
Jason Armand ALL great songs!
.
Jason Armand
So happy you guys found the GOAT. I’m Puerto Rican don’t like country but I love soul and blues, and Chris is the man
