That wasn't the same in the past and if you don't understand that fact....thats a you problem. Desmond Howard is literally so terrible on the set I can't think of anybody who really gets anything from his input. He's just not that sharp of a guy, he's hard to understand, he doesn't make very sensible points most of the time because his talking points are always driven by his bias one way or the other against or for certain teams...just never has anything interesting to say. I can't believe they dumped David Pollack, who was really good, for Desmond Howard. Unfortunately we all know why. It seems like there is a growing friction with Herbie, maybe if we're lucky that will lead to his dismissal from Gameday soon. On the flip side, they added coach Saban who is just freaking phenomenal because he knows more about college football than anybody else...plus he's actually very entertaining, very funny and engages with the rest of the guys on the set seamlessly.

As a buckeye fan, I think that’s the second greatest the 2014 run even though we didn’t lose was still greater the way it ended the teams we played how we beat them with a third string quarterback Zeke Elliott getting almost 700 yards in three games. And almost every game that season we was down at some point even 21 points to Virginia Tech. We were down to Penn State and brought that into double overtime and won.
So happy for Coach Day. He deserved this, especially considering all that he’s been through. The resilience and toughness this team showed after the Michigan loss is nothing short of incredible; Beating 4 top 10 teams in a row, including the #1 seed Oregon. They had a very difficult path to the championship and there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind they were the best team in the country and wholeheartedly deserved this.
Thank you Coach Day for being a quality, person, coach, mentor, and family man. @kbrewski1 you're obviously ignorant about why the seniors stayed for their final year of eligibility. But hey, you're lack of education ain't hurt you none, eh Buckwheat ?
Listen, why on earth WOULDN’T it take a new OC, a new QB and a true freshman WR1 a dozen games to completely gel? Duh. Ryan Day is the best coach in America and Ohio State is unbelievably fortunate to have this man leading their program.
Unbelievable how this team came back from adversity and left no doubt who the best team in the country is in the very first 12 team Playoffs and College Super Bowl - OSU is the only team in history to have 5 wins against top 5 teams- no doubt OSU is the best team in country this year and arguably ever. The NFL draft and next 10-15 years of players pro careers will show just how much talent this team truly had.
Buckeye fan here. I cannot even begin to describe how happy I am those guys got a ring. Thank you Ryan Day. Ignore the haters, you did it. However, and I could be reading in to this a lot, but it looks like he is already done celebrating. He needs like a whole month to just decompress. I noticed he looked miserable during the post game discussions (outside of the locker room celebration). Just doesn’t look healthy even after winning it all.
A long time Buckeye fan, I never lost faith in him. We knew all alone that it is so tough to be OSU head coach. John Cooper was fired because he could not beat Michigan and had a bad season. MR. Cooper still had one of the best coaching record in big Ten. The expectation was so high, any loss is a scarlet letter. But Ryan has been able to recruit a lot of NFL talents. I am pretty sure these new recruits get all the praises of existing and former players. Sure money helps, but the young players are looking a place where they think the coach can foster their potentials. Losing a game is tough. Losing four years in a row to TTUN is even tougher. The fact that Ryan continue adjusting his coaching and staffing for the program is really something to admire. I am happy for him to finally get the monkey off his back. Let us beat Michigan next time.
A 2 loss 8th seed team going hot, running a gauntlet of top 10 teams, and winning the championship after a devastating loss to end the season, was the best possible outcome to kickoff the first 12 team playoff. It exemplifies the reason to expand. Had a top seeded team with an automatic bye simply dominated to the finish, it would have shown everyone the expansion was a mistake.
Sorry I called for you to be fired Coach ! That last loss against Michigan killed me and I didn’t think you could win a Natty. but you proved me wrong Coach. Congratulations Ryan Day. Now go beat Michigan in Ann Arbor !!!!
Ryan Day is such a humble person. He has no problem admitting when he thinks he needs to improve something. I don’t see many coaches talk that way about themselves
The OSU Xichigan series is 62-51-6 with Michigan leading. One of the reasons that game is so heavy on fans… especially OSU fans… is because they were cutting into that lead heavy since 2000… then all of sudden Xichigan got 4 back on us. Go Bucks!
To the guy from that state up north who laughed about the game. I told you, that was the wrong thing to do. Coach isn't going anywhere. Look at what you did. 2024 NCAA National Champions The Ohio State University.

I have asked some fellow Buckeye fans about what they thought about Day and the mich losses. There were a few who said it was just unacceptable and wanted him fired. And to those I then asked how they felt about michigan and the whole stallions thing and all said yeah they cheated and should have there title stripped and bowl bans etc. I then asked if you feel that way 100% then why do you blame Day for those losses?? Most couldn't come up with a response..
The BUCKEYE FANS WERE EXHAUSTED AFTER The Bitcoin referee years, where the Cheats won, and the team was dyslexic. I wanted to dump the bucks when horrible play ruled the day, and Ryan Day needed more time. Then you coach, With that 5 game stretch ahead of you, I was exhausted then I saw this championship in Coach days tutelage and caring, and desire for the natty. Thanks for filling the Ticket and punching it. This is a "I Knew we could do it", moment in all our buck lives
No coaches are perfect coaching, but honestly coach Day is 70-10 record wins for the Buckeyes that’s above average plus he’s only missed two seasons of cfp out of 6 seasons with ten games wins above every year’s record.
As a buckeye fan, I think that’s the second greatest the 2014 run even though we didn’t lose was still greater the way it ended the teams we played how we beat them with a third string quarterback Zeke Elliott getting almost 700 yards in three games
Had OSU beaten Michigan, they may or may not have won the national title. But because they lost to Michigan, they were so insanely inspired that for four games, they may have been the best team in Ohio State history.
Amazing job by coach Day, I think he can get 2 or 3 more championships at Ohio state. But to be honest this fan base doesn’t deserve him! They will turn on him next year just like they did to him this year.
The hate this guy gets is incredible for people to say that he never would win, this guy has coached in a natty vs the Goat, then got screwed vs Clemson had a TD called back that cost OSU a trip to face LSU, They were a play away from beating Ga that got away with a targeting call that changed that game OSU should have went up 22. I say all that to say Coach Day was a few plays away from having coached in 4 Natty's in 6 years. Yes he has a Michigan problem but not a coaching problem. He always seems to fix problems mid season whether it's defense or offensive. 5 top 5 wins to win it all that's a tough road to win! Go Bucks.
Also the constant comments about OSU buying a title is ridiculous. The SEC has been buying players and titles for 5 decades, but NIL has really hurt them because now it's actually above board. On top of that, 19 of OSU's 22 starters were recruited out of high school and developed at Ohio State...they only picked up a few portal guys and that's the way it should be done using the portal and NIL to pkug holes in the roster each year. Not sure why the athletic director who is in his first year from Texas A&M decided to throw the 20 million number out there but he didn't do Ohio State's coaches or players any favors because he put a big Target on their back for no reason now that this is the way college football is done. I think to him being from Texas A&M in the SEC it just seemed completely normal to him to talk about this kind of things, but I'm sure Day didn't appreciate the extra and unnecessary pressure. A bunch of schools were at or near OSU, including a few that were over like Texas and Oregon. It's college football in 2024 hopefully they'll get a better system figured out soon. OSU has been recruiting top five classes forever they didn't need nil...this has helped the average teams get better players much more than it's helped Ohio State, Bama, Georgia Etc who always recruit at a super high level without NIL. It's actually helping Michigan more because Michigan has never recruited at that high of a level compared to OSU, but their class this year led by a 10-12 M deal where they stole the number one quarterback from LSU simply based on NIL, nothing else. The major recruiting Blue Bloods that consistently hit top five classes didn't need this because all it did was even the field with everybody else.
7:45 I really don't like this narrative as an OSU fan. That game means more than a national championship, I know buckeyes feel that way. Natties are better than a win against the team up north objectively, but winning The Game is the only thing that truly matters each season. It's the game you remember each season when you look back as a fan

@@Whelmed. OSU took 7 players in the transfer portal. That means the other 120ish players were returning. As Coach Day says, Developed Here.
Most of the starters (particularly on defense) were multi-year starters. A significant chunk of this team were starters in 2022 against Georgia.
@@AntonioDiMartini-i6e I’d say we just used our NIL smarter then ANYBODY else.
Coach you and the boys fantastic season job well done
Reece, please no more Desmond in 2025-6 season
Agreed. The man talks like he's 25 years old, and everything he says sounds homerish.
@ well said man
@@tedalfred9516 still can't understand why ESPN fired Pollack over Howard
Desmond is the coolest dude there lil bro. Your'e acting like a democrat.
His talk about the state of college football is really something that needs to be listened to. He just won a championship and he's sounding the alarm.

I wanted ryan day gone, but he shut me up. He is now Mr. Day
Ohio State played so consistent those four games going 4-0. National champion 2025.
Rose Bowl
And Cotton Bowl champions as well
Lol they wouldn't even of got a chance without the expansion. You guys are all insane
I owe this man an apology.
Many Buckeye Nation folks have always appreciated you while some, well….👉🏽 Congratulations to all for an amazing season, leaving no doubt, demonstrating true sportsmanship, and setting the blueprint for winning the 12 team CFP.
Go Bucks!! 🅾️🙌🏽🙏🏽🅾️
2014 Championship is still way more iconic and epic, but it's good to see my favorite team win 3 Chips in my lifetime.
If Coach Day sticks around, he`ll go down as the greatest OSU coach....ever.
Will is a fav buckeye of mine now, easy top 5
😂😂 the way he was lookin at the lady was like..miss Lady...are you good?!😐😂😂
In a world where people chase money, those kids chased a dream. Congrats Buckeyes.
Oh, so all the OSU players are giving back their NIL $$? I must have missed ESPN reporting on that. Gee, what selfless honest players.......NOT.
GO FREAKING BUCKS😤💯🏆
13-10. Go blue.
So happy for Ryan Day. He will now be considered one of the greatest coaches of all time buckeye nation loves you.😊
Buckeye fan here.
Very interesting, good ideas, thanks for this year , new era...❤
A 2 loss 8th seed team going hot, running a gauntlet of top 10 teams, and winning the championship after a devastating loss to end the season, was the best possible outcome to kickoff the first 12 team playoff. It exemplifies the reason to expand. Had a top seeded team with an automatic bye simply dominated to the finish, it would have shown everyone the expansion was a mistake.
Win streaks matter in college football. You cannot get ranked winning 2 out of every 3. You have to win. The best teams do it.
Sorry I called for you to be fired Coach ! That last loss against Michigan killed me and I didn’t think you could win a Natty. but you proved me wrong Coach. Congratulations Ryan Day. Now go beat Michigan in Ann Arbor !!!!
Coach Day and the Buckeyes brought honor and dignity back to college football that had been tarnished by harbaugh cheating to win.
🎉 Go Buckeyes 🎉 Ohio!
OH!
Ryan Day is such a humble person. He has no problem admitting when he thinks he needs to improve something. I don’t see many coaches talk that way about themselves
Congrats coach !!!
Great interview Mr Davis. Congrats Coach Day.
LOVE Coach Day❤
Go buckeyes!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Ohio State against the world?? MISSION Accomplished!!!!!!
Obviously great coach but better leader, dad and husband. Just a great human being. Happy for him
The OSU Xichigan series is 62-51-6 with Michigan leading. One of the reasons that game is so heavy on fans… especially OSU fans… is because they were cutting into that lead heavy since 2000… then all of sudden Xichigan got 4 back on us. Go Bucks!
4 shouldnt happen since OSU got better talent, the NIL will change that
Ryan Day Speaks Volume..No Great Accomplishment Are Ever Achieved Without Going Through Adversity: Ryan Day
I do think it is kind of silly that 4 out of the 6 "major Bowl Games" are basically SEC home games.
I think they actually set that up for Ohio State to go through the gauntlet, I also think they expected Georgia to make it to Atlanta
To the guy from that state up north who laughed about the game. I told you, that was the wrong thing to do. Coach isn't going anywhere. Look at what you did. 2024 NCAA National Champions The Ohio State University.
The golf cart though …😂😂😂
Glad Day won , he took a ton of criticism and kept his cool 😇
I’m sorry, Ryan. So happy for this man
He’s not lying, helluva run Go Dawgs
Congratulations coach Day you earn it national championship 2024 🏆
Happy for THE Mr Day🌰❤️🔥
Thank you for the memories community and pride for your roots and home is a beautiful thing that lives on in tradition and love, Cbus boy🥂‼️🌰
I'm just glad to see the first black head coach win a national title
Freeman was the first black coach to lose a championship title lol
Respect to Freeman for getting his team to the Natty but he didn't win. Congrats to ND on their season. The wild twist to it Freeman is a Buckeye legend. GO Bucks 25/26
Interesting that now that everybody can pay their players (and not just Bama) the playing field got evened out real quick
Oh they can't stand that nor want to hear it.
Just for men should sponsor Ohio State just for the beard and hair on this man alone.
O-H!!!!
I-O!!!!
I-O go ryan day and go bucks
Class act
Big 10, 2 in a row and now with the NIL spreading out 5 stars its a new world
As a buckeye fan, I think that’s the second greatest the 2014 run even though we didn’t lose was still greater the way it ended the teams we played how we beat them with a third string quarterback Zeke Elliott getting almost 700 yards in three games
Didn't lose a game, but that great team overcame a great loss & used that adversity to overcome to be one of greatest college football teams ever.
Had OSU beaten Michigan, they may or may not have won the national title.
But because they lost to Michigan, they were so insanely inspired that for four games, they may have been the best team in Ohio State history.
They mighta lost the natty. I'm glad we lost to Michigan. It helped us win
That's my coach 😁
Amazing job by coach Day, I think he can get 2 or 3 more championships at Ohio state. But to be honest this fan base doesn’t deserve him! They will turn on him next year just like they did to him this year.
If you don't like Ryan Day, you've never met him. He is a great man and a really good coach!
Congrats! Never stop swingin!
Pretty hilarious, buckeye fans now love this guy, they are ok with losing to Michigan every year. Keep Ryan day around!
GO BUCKS BABY! ❤🩶❤️🩶🌰🌰🌰🌰
Go buckeyes. Let’s see what he does next November.
Go Bucks.
The refs actually did you guys a favor, yall would've gotten KILLED by that 2019 LSU team.
Once again thank you Michigan
Everyone who disrespected Ryan Day can have a seat and admire his 2024 National Championship Trophy! Enjoy haters!
Greatest run in college football history!!!Go buckeyes!!!
