    Great tutorial! For anyone wondering, the "Innate" input in spells is for spells you get through other means (for example Tiefling racial spells) and can be cast a set number of times a day regardless of spell slots.

      Thanks for adding some more info to this tutorial! Didn’t even think about that.

    Pretty cool guide, quick on concise, keep up the good work!
    Quick advice, please work on the audio quality, it sounds like you're switching microphones constantly while speaking and it's quite distracting.

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  Рік тому +4

      That’s coming from speed ramping the video. I wasn’t sure if it was noticeable so thanks for taking the time to let me know!

      @@encountersmith Agreed it's quite distracting, but otherwise really excellent video. You have great presence, are fun to listen to, and teach well. Don't let the audio issue discourage you (but also yes, please fix it. lol)

      @@jhightower Gotcha! Thanks so much for the feedback and really kind words. I’ll definitely get the audio tuned in for the next one!

    The "Innate" that was skipped at 8:45 was for spells that you have from your race, feats, boons, etc, that can only be cast a certain amount of times per day instead of using spell slots.

    As a pathbuilder user I can see this process as a kick in the nuts, dnd should not be that hard or expensive to play, but that is my opinion, thanks for the guide man

    Good guide but the sound is horrible, had to mute and read subtitles.... Dunno why but got a headache from it

      @encountersmith  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for taking the time to comment and sorry for the headache. Do you know what about the sound bothered you? Sound effect volume, my voice, background noise? I’d like to try to fix it in future videoed if I can. Thanks again!

      @@encountersmith was a while back now but if I remember correctly the sound went from my left ear to right ear aswell as being higher and lower, and it was happening every other second.
      Just had a massive burnout so am alot more sensitive to sounds but cant always tell why (as in cant be on buss without propper noicecancelling earphones). Maybe it felt like there were alot of you talking at the same time when it was a difference in volume and direction which made it unbearable

      @encountersmith I gotta say, as I'm listening and saw this comment, I had to chime in. It's like your voice is randomly being auto tuned and it does not sound good.

      I don’t think you can with this character sheet but there are other 5e sheets you can use that can probably change that

    Im new to dming and new to roll20 for dms, i have only done 1 roll20 campaign (the one i'm currently in) and was wondering if you could do a video on editing other players permissions and how to remove the card deck completly from the campaign

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  Рік тому +1

      @@encountersmith it's less abouallowing them to do things more so taking away the ability to do certant thing. like when i was testing out my first campaign to a feel, i invited them to join we wre in a discord call, these are myfriends btw, they kept spamming the cards from the card deck and drawing everywhere. how do i completly remove the card deck? and is it possible to remove there drawing permission? (i suppose they arent called "Havoc Wreakers" for nothing!)

    Ok i have a problem, when i try to add a character and i fill the name, the "in the player's journals" and the " can be edited & controlled by" and i click to save changes it doesn't give me the character sheet page, but only the " bio & info " and "attributes and abilities" is it cause i only have the free version??

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  6 місяців тому

      Double check under the settings for the game that you have chosen a character sheet. If the games doesn’t have a set character sheet you won’t get the option when making a character. Hope that helps but it’s definitely not a paid version thing. Hope that helps!

    Great tutorial. I have a question. Some of my players want to try multiclassing for an upcoming roll20 campaign. How can I implement that to roll20 ?

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  Рік тому +1

      I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this question! If you haven’t found out already if you hit the purple gear on the front page underneath the basic information it’ll take you to a settings page. Second box down from the left is a box that say multiclass options. There you can put in the new class and how many levels of it. Sorry for the late reply!

  • @mikerushby2178

    Good style. Shame you didn't cover making their own game and vault import / export. Also might be worth pointing out that you are only covering things from a free user's perspective. Plenty of people either have content themselves or have a friendly DM or organisation that can give them a route to use their compendium.

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  Рік тому +3

      Hey thanks for the feedback Mike! You’re correct in the fact that this is meant to be for free users so show the most basic and accessible way to start with Roll20. I’ll deff make sure to state that more clearly. Thanks again!

    My problem is multiclassing and adding Skilled from the rogue, bard, and feat abilities.

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  5 місяців тому

      I usually start my sheets with one class but if you multiclass you can manually select the skills you now have proficiency in. Most things you can directly edit number value without the sheet having to calculate anything

    My guys are playing 3.5 , is it possible to make working character sheets ?

    • @encountersmith
      @encountersmith  8 місяців тому

      Absolutely! When you are creating your game on Roll20 there will be a drop down menu to pick your character sheets for that game and I’m almost positive that they have a 3.5 sheet

      Omg you’re totally right!! So just like the weapons your can drag and drop the different basic armors and shield from the compendium and it’ll also change your ac. Hope that helps and thanks for pointing that out!
