Thanks! But Noki actually had made the stamps already, but YT doesn't show it. You have to sort by recent and scroll all the way to the bottom to find it. So weird!
He's here. UA-cam just keeps hiding his comment: ua-cam.com/video/TQ6o0-z4umc/v-deo.html&lc=UgywFA4KTBlBwBGunZJ4AaABAg edit: looks like that link doesn't work unless you open it in a new tab
A lot of people saying he's been shadow banned by YT. Apparently he's said as much on Discord. Not sure why YT would ban him though (don't really know the guy or what else he might post, we know it's not LTT doing it though since they've publicly thanked him before).
I'm starting to think The Wan show needs a section for common merch question updates. The zipper pulls and the precision screwdriver seem to come up almost every week.
I wonder if they could put that on the LTTStore when they're live. Could take a little bit to develop as you'd have to have a spot for a few users to login internally/on the backend to update it, but technically would be feasible, but not sure if they currently or would deem it a good idea time-wise. I've personally been pretty excited on the NAS software one which seems to come up often as well on the queued merch messages even though LLD don't actively talk about it much understandably if there's no update, they do reply to them at least.
Loving how Dan is participating more. The way he sometimes throws in is own comments adds a lot imo. Old video games I'd like to see a sequel of: - Sacred (but make an actual Sacred 3, not whatever... that thing that doesn't exist was) - Command & Conquer (same caveat) - dark horse candidate: Zanzarah. Props to them for making a 3D pokemon like game 20 years before Nintendo did, at a time where they claimed that it was impossible
Metal Arms and Dark Cloud 2 are my choices. Dark Cloud 1 was a very different game that was ahead of its time in many ways (a full on rogue like before the term existed afaik) but 2 has a unique feel and mechanics I've not seen in any other game. Metal Arms had a good story and great humor that a few games have tried to emulate but most just feel like they're trying too hard.
Damn, whatever happened, it must have been really bad. Executives don't typically leave under perceived termination- they speak about other projects, how they want to make some new experiences, etc and the company hands them some sort of golden parachute to keep controversy out the picture, incentivizing them to act like everything is good. You almost never get this sort of directly acknowledged termination from an exec.
well, bad in the sense that it MAY also have been a case of the boss taking the fall for some typical f*ckup caused by those under his command, but the fact that one other guy at the top just quit in disgust points to the decision being controversial and perhaps not fair or proportional, like perhaps although technically his responsibility he may not have any knowledge of the "event" before it blew up...
They unearthed his sister's old tweets about "him raping her when she was 4 and he was 13, and discovering he was gay during raping her" and also him "withholding her father's inheritance money unless she signs an NDA about the rape."
Open IA: The board expects your resignation in 30 days: Sam Altman: You can't do this to me. I started this company. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'VE SACRIFICED?
The whole thing is bad security. You are storing your messages and encryption keys on same random server farm. Even encrypted servers on the whole currently have to be decrypted to be used.
58:35 They're doing similar atm in Iceland where they're using fibreoptic cables to detect earthquakes 1:21:32 I feel like you can't really compare the PS Portal to the Nvidia Shield Portable considering the PS Portal is (as far as I'm aware) just purely for streaming games from your local PS5 console, that's it. The Nvidia Shield Portable on the other hand actually came with Flash storage, a micro-SD card slot and RAM plus it also supported cloud streaming (as far as I'm aware).
The original shield may as well have been just a streaming device from my understanding since the Android ecosystem was nowhere near as sophisticated as it is now so the only real use case was streaming. Considering inflation the shield would probably cost closer to 400 today compared to the 200 cost of the portal. I also don't blame them for the lack of Bluetooth audio, even if the hardware could technically make it work the latency and quality issues may not be worth it The Switch added Bluetooth audio but it cuts out all the time because it also needs those radios for Internet and controllers, while the controller issue shouldn't be present on the shield it does need high performance Wi-Fi for a good video and audio stream from the PS5. Of course if I was in the market for such a device I'd look for something more capable and pay the premium but I don't expect the pure PS5 gamer with little technical knowledge to pay more for something they don't need not do what's necessary to set it up (since it wouldn't be as easy as the portal).
2:20:45 How does viewer retention work when you watch a video at 2x speed? Its half the watch time but you've seen the whole video. Maybe UA-cam fixed it but I want to know if it count as 100% or 50%
There’s likely a catch-22 situation with Windows 11 determining user location for DMA compliance - if order to get the location it must send personal data (at least an IP address), which requires user consent. Any other scheme would be too easy to spoof.
Yep, but MS does not care. It will just be buried into one of the provisions that you must agree to in order to use the OS. Also, I assume collecting your IP address is already standard practice when Windows checks for activation! Would just be a change in how they use your data.
Actually IP addresses do not constitute any location information directly, and usually if the geoip is accurate, it's to maybe down to 2km of accuracy. Sending IP address does not require consent, it's when you collect accurate location (from system, or wifi networks list), fingerprinting, etc.
@@tutacat ip address can constitute PII in some contexts, for example when it is static (as it is then able to uniquely identify a pc on the web) or in conjunction with other information. Therefore there is legal limit on what you can do with it without consent above what is physically necessary, like storing to send back an http response.
Admittedly, I do not know the nuances of the laws in the EU. Is an IP address not public domain/public information? It is the same idea as a license plate (may be personally identifiable, provides information about location).@@MikeKrasnenkov
Wow, Linus lost the brain cell while he was trying to say good night to everybody! We saw it in real time - Linus started to say good night, and then suddenly his brain was replaced with Floof, just like Walter the Catt. 😂
Yeah, they should also not forget to rename into "ClosedAI" while at it, because the current title sounds like they don't want to own up to their practices.
There's already been commentary elsewhere about how AI isn't profitable (aside from for Nvidia?). GitHub is making a loss on every user of Copilot apparently.
Lisbon for example. Taxists like to scam ppl. That s why they got soo upset when uber arrived. Here in Switzerland, 5km u pay like 50 or more. Never took a taxi in my life here but everything is expensive here, so....
Games that need sequels: Star Wars: Republic Commando. Ended on a cliffhanger, loved by the community, lore-accurate, awesome gameplay, good enough graphics.
can you make a video (or at least talk about) Bootleneck Calculators ? according to one my Ryzen 2600x is bottlenecking my nvidia 1660Ti by %20-30 in some games (like Crysis 3 at 1080p) and you need surprisingly powerful/expensive CPU to not bottleneck a 4060Ti (which I'm planning on getting)
Best case scenario: boring stuff like fiscal viability. Worst (but just as likely): either Altman or the Board is dealing with the military, and the other was trying to prevent it.
For a sequel to FTL I would love to see a collaboration with Simtex to make a new Master of Orion game. I loved the vastness of the game you got in MOO2, but it always fell short with me when you had to actually fight in large battles. For one, they were always imbalanced one way or the other, something the FTL team has down perfectly. For two, the battles are clunky in MOO2 the more ships you get, and I could just see an FTL style game where instead of commanding a ship you're commanding the fleet, and each room or weapon is like a squadron you send out to attack with.
I can't imagine why you wouldn't make a short circuit video on the clear steam deck. You talked about return on investment and that would be a quick easy video. Buy it!
Supreme Commander was actually a spiritual successor to "Total Annihilation". Pretty sure the other one, Planetary Annihilation, also tried a hand at it as well. But Total Annihilation is such a classic RTS game. Soooooo many mods added maps, map elements, and brand new units and structures. So much that it kept the game alive much longer than originally expected. I think the original developer for TA was called "Cavedog". The two factions were called The Core and The Arm. Basically red vs blue lol. You had your Commander which was your OP combat and utility unit. Initial gatherer and builder. Strong but not invincible. Lose your Commander and it's game over. Some missions involved just your Commander, some few units, and no building.
Same😢 does anyone know if there's a podcast version somewhere? I don't normally use podcasts, but will to try because my spotty internet makes wan show hang evertime there's an add
I pay for premium so I've not had to deal with ads in a while but if you must watch without ads and can't afford a subscription you could try using VLC. I don't know if it still works but I used VLC a few times in the past to watch UA-cam streams. I don't remember the exact process anymore.
I thought Linus had said in the past that they won't do mid roll ads on their videos because they already have sponsors and hock their own stuff so hopefully today was a fluke
@@zenmaster76 That's possible, it does sound like something Linus might have said. It's also possible that Google has decided to put ads in place anyway. I remember hearing that they were forcing ads on content that's not even eligible for ad revenue before though I didn't keep up with that story.
For someone who says he doesn't care about bubble colors, the WAN show sure talks about bubbles a lot. As an Android user, the new mag thing is very cool.
Less than 10mins in and I'm getting the feeling Linus has been watching Hamilton recently. If he mentions "The room where it happened" or anything about not going to be president, I'll be certain
The biggest issue with car delivery is identity theft. In person identry theft was already an issue, but using the web can allow scammers massive scale and lets them avoid some identity verification.
Pretty sure the fiber optics in the hull monitoring system at 58:44 use intensity of the light to make those assessments. Internal reflection of the light would change if the angle changes too much. Still pretty cool.

@@micahv9365 usually timestamps show up on top. this video for some reasons all the time stamps are way down there. sort from newest to oldest and they are on bottom which takes forever to get to when there are thousands of comments. only other sorting option is "top Comments" which is horse shit. come on youtube do better.
I'm not familiar with US law that much, but I don't think a nonprofit organisation can simply be bought by a for-profit organisation. Nonprofits have a special tax status, so if that was possible this would basically be a vehicle for tax evasion. I do think it's possible to convert a nonprofit to a for-profit organisation, but again because they have a special tax status to avoid abuse I assume the process wouldn't be as simply as ringing up the IRS and saying you're OK with paying taxes again because Microsoft is about to write you a big cheque.
Haven't kept up with carvana news but not shocked they tanked. Sold my car to carvana at the end of 2021. They paid well over the market price for my base model economy suv to the point i made money even after i drove for well over 50 000k since purchase. Such a deal i even sold a second car to them not long after and got a similarly spectacular deal. Impossible that would be sustainable
2:20:33 It would be kinda cool if comments had their watch time of that specific video in a tool tip..... It would solve some things, but then also make a game out of watch time. Maybe cap it at 100%.
They do, actually. But they have an agreement with NoKi that they use his timestamps because they are a lot more in depth than their own timestamps Source - I also have an agreement with NoKi to use his timestamps on The WAN Database.
Maybe someone here could explain this, but it just feels completely and utterly INSANE to buy a CAR, something that costs TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, sight UNSEEN, without a test drive, without an Inspection, with no way to negotiate based on condition (last two for used cars, which can also be bought online)
You guys need to sticky time stamp guys posts given how bad youtube comment filtering is. Apparently they've already posted them but it's impossible to find. Some suggest sorting by newest comments and scrolling aaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll the way to the bottom except that UA-cam appears to be reloading the latest twenty posts in a loop. :S
I actually would have loved to see how it would have played out if Tesla would have kept the no reselling clause to see how it affected scalping. I would probably not work in other markets like with graphics cards, because there isn't a title transfer required whenever it's sold, but for cars it's a genius move. It would be nice if they added a commitment to allow 3rd-party reselling if it was sold at or below the MSRP of the cybertruck. This would reduce most issues around regular resales, while still blocking scalpers from making money.
Luke, the PSVR 2 didn't sell out or get scalped significantly. The Portal works and has the dualsense built in, single unified device with no OS or side apps to suck battery juice. It's comfortable and super light due to having very few internals.
sold out doesn't mean anything if there were 5 units available.... I can guarantee the PSVR2 had more units made despite being much more expensive simply because it helps make more money
Couple things... First, I'm disappointed that you didn't cover the Completionist situation as a top topic, charity fraud amounting to over half a million dollars in the UA-cam Gaming space is a big deal. Second, please give Luke that impressive Temu headset, his mic sucks balls.

In response to the sequel merch message, it’d be really nice to see a sequel to the original Mirror’s Edge that pretends Catalyst never existed. Linear levels with alternate movement paths, same characters, same art style, and more speed run levels.

New zipper pulls were announced what, like 8 months ago? Pretty sure a $300 backpack purchaser is deserving updates about a $2 piece of metal.
Loving how Dan is participating more. The way he sometimes throws in is own comments adds a lot imo.
Old video games I'd like to see a sequel of:
- Sacred (but make an actual Sacred 3, not whatever... that thing that doesn't exist was)
- Command & Conquer (same caveat)
- dark horse candidate: Zanzarah.
I agree. Dan’s takes are based and entertaining 🤣😎

Got dropped like a hot potato…
If this is the part that they're trying to drop into the Friday news cycle, what are they saving for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving?
well, bad in the sense that it MAY also have been a case of the boss taking the fall for some typical f*ckup caused by those under his command, but the fact that one other guy at the top just quit in disgust points to the decision being controversial and perhaps not fair or proportional, like perhaps although technically his responsibility he may not have any knowledge of the "event" before it blew up...

The whole thing is bad security. You are storing your messages and encryption keys on same random server farm. Even encrypted servers on the whole currently have to be decrypted to be used.
58:35 They're doing similar atm in Iceland where they're using fibreoptic cables to detect earthquakes
1:21:32 I feel like you can't really compare the PS Portal to the Nvidia Shield Portable considering the PS Portal is (as far as I'm aware) just purely for streaming games from your local PS5 console, that's it.
Please send Luke some hardware to make his Off-Site WAN seat sound better.. I mean it's starting to become pretty common now.. xD

Yeah lukes home setup is fine, it's when he's travelling and that's probably an internet issue more than a hardware thing
2:20:45 How does viewer retention work when you watch a video at 2x speed? Its half the watch time but you've seen the whole video. Maybe UA-cam fixed it but I want to know if it count as 100% or 50%
If it's coded smart, maybe it also takes into account what speed the user typically plays most videos at.

There's a chance that OpenAI is virtually insolvent and they're a step before restructuring entirely.
Yeah, they should also not forget to rename into "ClosedAI" while at it, because the current title sounds like they don't want to own up to their practices.

Buy it!
Saw you on Sammit Luke! So cool to see ya in a drift car, passenger or otherwise haha. Super awesome! And at Ebisu no less!
1:44:26 Dan's joke here definitely didn't get the love it deserved
Giving this comment the thumbs up it deserves
When I was in Japan in August, it was all trains and buses.
Being from Alberta made me so sad we don't have amazing transit like Japan.
So much dad humor... why do I find it so funny!? I just really appreciate the effort I think. XD
Strange I don't usually get adds during WAN show
UA-cam cranked ads up up again and removed people's abilities to remove them
Same😢 does anyone know if there's a podcast version somewhere?
Why does the WAN Show always have such a much lower volume than other UA-cam videos?
I really hope we will find out in the future that the board of open AI is fully AI itselfe and was just hallucinating 😂
Even the microphone on Luke's phone would have sounded better.
Why are they torturing us again?! :D
Seems like a laptop's microphone
but that doesnt sounds soft which is necessary for podcast
Oh you poor thing. Must really hurt not having the best quality of everything😊
Sounds fine to me...
Pretty sure the fiber optics in the hull monitoring system at 58:44 use intensity of the light to make those assessments. Internal reflection of the light would change if the angle changes too much. Still pretty cool.
is the timestamp guy ok
He has posted it :
ua-cam.com/video/TQ6o0-z4umc/v-deo.html&lc=UgywFA4KTBlBwBGunZJ4AaABAg
I Cant find where to purchase GMG XP Gold anywhere on there site, the XP button leads to an explanation about what XP does but doesn't let me purchase it
1:26:41 potentially the first time I hear someone say Hungary as their first association with the EEA. Even as a Hungarian I would’ve said a more known country 😅
1:39:45 seems like a weird way to say that, since without the time change it'd get dark "earlier"
Where is the timestamps guy?
It could be you
Make your own? 🤔
Where'd the FP post of this go?
anyone have time stamps?
@@dftfireits hidden for some people
I have some posted, it has over 100 likes but YT is hiding it for some reason
@@micahv9365 usually timestamps show up on top. this video for some reasons all the time stamps are way down there. sort from newest to oldest and they are on bottom which takes forever to get to when there are thousands of comments. only other sorting option is "top Comments" which is horse shit. come on youtube do better.
where is the Floatplane VOD?
#Noki, #Noki, dude, where are you?
We got some work to do now.
#Noki, #Noki, dude, where are you?
We need some help from you now.
Oh he's down there...comment is currently 3h old. Sort by newest and scroll down
@@dftfireAsk UA-cam about it 🤷
Total Annihilation needs a sequel, who can relate? Whoo! 🙌
Where is the floatplane version?
Mid roll ads on WAN show?? I don’t ever remember being served ads before? Had two so far an I’m 38 minutes in. Watching on Samsung Smart TV.
FTL has a solid modding community. The multiverse mod is AMAZING.
Maybe cap it at 100%.
no timestamps, no watch, its simple lol
Skill issue
Why we getting Ads on a WAN show, and it's still not up on floatplane?
Sad that a media company this large cant have someone creating the timestamps as they record? We have to wait on a fan to do it? Dumb
They do, actually. But they have an agreement with NoKi that they use his timestamps because they are a lot more in depth than their own timestamps
Source - I also have an agreement with NoKi to use his timestamps on The WAN Database.
Bro…. I didn’t even notice Luke wasn’t there till 40 min into the stream 😂😂😂 he looked at his laptop while it was closed and I’m like wtf😂😂
You guys are whack.
How do you not notice within 5 seconds? Lmak
Why the heck are there UA-cam adds playing during the video? Is that an oversight or intentional?
Well the comments about your ear rings were just added engagement & contributed to how quickly y'all grew.
Wouldn't virtual Luke work better if you took a picture of his empty seat and then had him use that as his background when he's remote?
But that’s not the joke
No
Pilotwings!!!! Heck yeah! I played the heck out of the N64 one...
The mech keyboard video inspired me to go and buy that one. So much better than the keyboard I got at a pharmacy in San Francisco!
Sony should've included Wifi Direct. like the Wii U had - boom, lag in your normal sized home avoided.
The gamepad had lower latency than most TVs at the time, even in game mode 💀
It's amazing
I've already been notified that my limited edition steam deck has already shiped
where is niko?? we need timesta(m)ps
Exam
Pretty sure completionist was last week
@NeonCoding No it wasn't, they have seemingly just glossed over it.
Pilotwings for 3DS was fantastic! I actually 100% completed it. It's set around the same island as Wii Sports Resort.
I wouldn't be surprised if mobile carriers were also pushing Apple to adopt RCS because they probably want to stop supporting SMS and MMS.
SMS costs carriers basically nothing
@@Innuyait’s a legacy protocol part of ss7; 4/5g are completely ip-based; so I guess they’re emulating ss7 for sms.
I dunno; my detailed knowledge on this is 10 years out of date
@@Innuya Basically, but nothing is something to their bottom line and if they can save money by ending support in a decade or so they will.
2:41:09 That is youtube's premiere functionality
0:17 - Weird YT artifact of Luke having 3 arms; Hope they fix.
In response to the sequel merch message, it’d be really nice to see a sequel to the original Mirror’s Edge that pretends Catalyst never existed. Linear levels with alternate movement paths, same characters, same art style, and more speed run levels.
Couldn't luke wear a black shirt to match the cardboard cutout? My ocd is full triggered!!!
Is Luke not aware that you can ADB uninstall all the samsung crapware from samsung phones? Because that's what I do to mine.
spent like 3 mins scrolling still cant find the time stamp guy :(
Same:'(
Interesting that my AirPods stopped working when Luke went to talk about what is keeping him on android 😂
gotta wait for timestamps to watch this...
Somehow I always knew that Santa was a lovely little Pagan. To be that jolly you'd have to be.
The OpenAI situation smells like a takeover plus cash grab.
I get IBM cloud hosting ads CONSTANTLY when listening to podcasts
It took me two minutes to realise that Luke wasn't actually there 🤡
So great to see Sam Altman predictions being true
Just keep calling it Twitter.
