Thanks for the shoutout, Chance! It was great meeting you as well!! You’re the first VC member I’ve met in person. I’m sure I’ll run into you again in March! And congrats on the one year anniversary of the podcast! Take care.
Hi Buddie, sorry I haven’t ben around! Love your streams, livin the life brother! I imagine digging with you, ou know my story, 200 miles from any shop! Keep digging my friend! Enjoy the process!
I loved hearing about your adventures in Chicago. At some point, I need to check out those Chicago records stores. The record show looked very intense and crowded but I'm so glad you found such a cool grail there. ♥️ It's great that you were able to splurge on something you really wanted. Take care.
Thanks Melinda! Highly recommend a nice Chicago record shopping weekend. If you do try it sometime, let me know and I'll give my reco for best breakfast/brunch spot - it's MARVELOUS 🙂
Thanks for the tip on Signal! The one on Diversey is on the North edge of Logan Square, the neighborhood I lived in for 12 years. I will add both locations to my itinerary for my Spring Break record shopping trip.
You won't be disappointed! Between the two of them, you'll likely need plenty of fluids from the heat inhalation 🙂. Tell me what you pick up (when you go)!
Chance, as always a great video. Some very nice scores. The shop you visited first was insane! They probably don't even have an electric bill in the winter due to all the heat on those walls! Nice snag on the Melvins and Nirvana as well. Hope your son found some nice stuff for his collection as well. Take care, Billy-
Holy Crap! Kriss Kross! Nice! My family lives near Chicago. I haven't been to Signal. I will have to check them out. Love the Meat Puppets, nice pick up! Nice Melvins! I have never seen that in the wild. Can't believe you found the Nirvana clear vinyl edition! Nice find my friend!
Yours was the last one I grabbed. When I got the guy to go down five bucks, I told him "if it's any consolation, this is going to a friend who will give it a good home". His response: "that's no consolation at all" 🤣🤣
@@ConcertBuddie Hip Hop is very tough to find in Boston also my man, I like a lot of the 90’s R&B, Jodeci, TLC, Shai, Keith Sweat, etc. extremely tough to find
What?! Upping your Corrido game, Champ! Nice Chalino buy! Love that DMX! I love any album with food in the title! 😂 Congrats on the Meat Is Murder! Looks like you had a great trip. ✌🏽
I always shop those Grail walls first or the bin of collectibles and the. Have no money to buy anything else. I does save me a lot of time digging through bins though so that is a plus. Signal has a heck of a wall, wowzer
You picked up some heat, Chance! Great price on the minty fresh copy of 🥩 is murder. The $5 finds are amazing. Congrats on In Utero. DMX, Meat Puppets - Black gold indeed.
Nice one! Definitely have to hit them earlier before the other scavengers take all the best stuff! It’s great to still find cool records at those prices 🤘🏻
I spy with my eye ....PJ official bootleg, Christmas single and 2024 fan club stickers ...nice!!! Rock Records was a great store down town "by the Picasso" I used to go there a lot from 1986 till Crows Nest chain bought it and destroyed it it closed in late 2000s 07-08ish I think. Nice find on the In Utero, I was very lucky on that one when it came out 😉 and yes that pressing sounds great!!! Looks like it was a great trip glad my city had the goods !!!!
Great pick ups Chance… can’t believe you only have 2 TheSmiths albums with that one , I’m sure Arnaldo is a little disappointed 😂.. the Nirvana in útero fiyaa 🔥 (happy you finally added that gem to the collection). And by the way, that record show you went is about the same size of the OC show here.
Chance love your feature on Signal records I still haven’t went to yet they had some killer goodies on the wall. At the record dude In Utero clear OG is a killer it’s my favorite record by them . I’m at that same point upgrading records in pristine condition . Love the hip hop you found DMX with the hype and that Lil Kim . Earlier last year I found a sealed 50 Cent Get Rich and die trying . I hope you come back for the next one I’ll go early bird to meet you . The signal records is in Logan Square neighborhood I grew there I moved from there in 2005 .Take care Chance keep on diggin’ brother.
Thank you sir! Sealed 50 is AWESOME - wow! I’m probably out for the next show, but I may return by the November show. I did see some good concerts coming to Chicago this summer, so I’ll prob be back sooner. Stay tuned!
I’m travelling to Chicago soon, from Australia. If you were to make recommendations for records stores to visit ,I’m guessing Signal records is first , what other record shops do you recommend in Chicago ? Thanks for the channel , it’s fab
what kind of stuff are you looking for? off the top, Signal (Wicker Park) has the hottest of heat. In fact, Wicker you can hit Signal, Dusty Groove, and Reckless Records (best location, IMO). Shuga is also on that block, but I haven't had great luck there.
@@ConcertBuddie I’m looking for Nevermind , in Utero, would like Gish , Siamese Dream too. Gene Clarke , Byrds and Kinks .You’ve probably talked me into some 90’s hip hop records too …lol . Hope you do a vid on that topic someday
@@anthonyburke223 i definitely will show more hip-hop on the channel. a clear void of that in the community. if you are looking for 90's OG's and are ok bucking up, Signal is the place. Check out their other shop too which is about 10 min away from the Wicker Park one. Let me know what you end up picking up! Safe travels!
@@ConcertBuddie thanks Chance last questions... lol Which Signal is the one ? Also if we're not driving how would you recommend getting from the Loop to signal record shop ? Thanks again !
@@anthonyburke223 Signal in Wicker Park is the best one. the other location is in Logan Square. They do have a train/metro system, but can be a lot of work to get your bearings, so (depending on where you are staying), rideshare (Uber, etc) is probably the way to go. but like I said, you can hit 4 solid shops in the Wicker Park neighborhood (by foot) alone. Good vinyl luck!
Not to brag or make you feel bad, but back in July I scored a mint In Utreo at a garage sale about 3 miles from the Chicago show. 5 bucks! The dude had about a dozen super rare 90's albums for $2 each. It was a good day. Okay, I am bragging. Thanks for the vid.
1 - I hate you (kidding…a little) and 2 - that sounds like the score of a lifetime! Holy cow, I’m part jealous, part stoked for you. 🤘🏻 What else did you score at those RIDICULOUS prices?
