Why “Scholastic Babe”? I like the juxtaposition of the word “scholastic” which is serious and “babe” because it’s fun and feminine.

Thanks for making this video, it was very informative and cool to see what Brown's program is like through your POV! Also loving that their stipends are higher than most in the US
Thank youuuu 🤍
Just applied to brown PhD for Africana studies. I’m praying I get in do you have videos talking about your application process.
Informative video..thanks
Very cool!
Nice vlog!
Thank you 🤍
Do you feel as if there is a lot of Black representation in terms of the students? I’m hoping to apply for my PhD at Brown and although I am coming from a PWI, I still am worried about the community aspect of Brown. - also, thank you for this video so informative!
Honestly, not really. Especially at the graduate level there’s not a lot of representation within individual departments. That being said it is totally possible to find community! you will just have to be more proactive about it. The Black graduate student union is very active and throws great events and I’ve made an effort to keep in touch with the people of color I met at general orientation.
Was your first stipend in full or half?
At Brown we get a full stipend once a month
Is your phd stipend enough as a student?
At Brown the base stipend is currently 42k which is definitely enough to live on in Providence! I can’t speak for all schools though
@@Scholasticbabe And what is the tax slab looks like ? Do you get full 42k per year in your hand ?
