- Unrestored 1980 Team Miyata. All parts as they were when purchased new. The Team Miyata was the top of the line model for 1980. The high-end bicycles for Miyata were the Team, the Pro and the 1200. The 1980 model came equipped with Dura Ace Ax components including the Dyna Drive pedal system which allowed the rider to be positioned slightly lower and to provide more positive pedaling power. Only brake lever hoods missing. classicjapanes...

Impressive
Thanks for the comment. It has a great ride as well.
holy grail who needs carbon fiber?
Right? Thanks for the comment.
This is a Beautiful "time capsule" reference !! Very Nice!
Thanks SD, I will be refurbishing it and riding it.
Really nice one 😁👍 I have a very similar bike to this one, in about same quality. A Koga Miyata, Full pro from 1981 (not original seat, bartape, cables and some decals)
Thanks Frank! I had a ‘80 and ‘85 pro. Wish I would have kept them.
I'm old school from the 80's I went to Rutgers University and was in the Jersey cycling scene. When these bikes dropped, ('81-82) everyone in NJ seemed to want one. I was a college kid so I had to ride/ race my Peugeot PXN-10 with Campy/ Suntour stuff. Great bike, workmanship but I didn't like the Shimano stuff so much. Great components, but Campy was just sooo pretty and cool.
Hi Marcus, So cool your raced back then. That Peugeot was probably a good bike to race on in the day. I did some racing in Southern CA in the early 2000's on a Cannondale. Campy was so ornate back then and really demonstrated form and function. Thanks for the comment.
Looks very rideable to me just... Tires?
Yes 3way, just needs tires.
This isnt so"collectable" not to make it a rider. Oh please, ride it, you wont be sorry.
Will definitely ride it. They have gone down in price lately even though the higher end Miyata’s are still somewhat collectible especially in this condition.
I would value it at around $1100-$1400 a couple years ago. In today's market, you would be lucky to get $1000. I have a 1983 Team with full Dura Ace EX, a 1983 Pro with full Dura Ace AX, a 1984 Full Pro Koga-Miyata with full Dura Ace EX, and a spare 1981 Team frame with full Dura Ace NOS group just ready to be built up. The 1981 frame and DA AX group I had recently listed for sale at $1000 and was not able to sell it. So I will hold onto it and possibly build it up to join my Miyata Stable. @@BicycleRestorationMan
@@jamesdelgado2009 Your right, they have come down quite a bit in price
