In all canon fact, Vegeta being a uncaring and tough father who didn't care much for his son is normal for saiyans. Him becoming a good father who loves his baby boy and girl as well as a devoting husband is a rarity. So by Saiyan standards, Goku sending his son to get bitch slapped by Cell is normal.
Well considering the fact that they take their newborns and send them to distant plants to kill off entire species says something about them doesn't it.

goku didn't mean to because he died to make sure the kidnapper didn't go after him. Was a good person in life so he got to keep his body. the second time he did it for gohan and the planet. But he could of teleported King kai and friends to a different planet to live on, go back to earth and let cell blow up on his own and wait just in case that wasn't enough. He didn't want to but felt he had to because plot armor weakens eventually. Vegeta on the other hand, he left temporarily because he needed to cool down. After a bit he came back to be a father whether he wanted to or not. Once he was having another kid, he refused to leave this time despite wanting to go training. Vegeta is a better dad only in the point of, he is there to juggle training and adult/ parent time. Goku isn't as good at this but means well no Matter what. even before the tournament he promises chichi that once cell is gone gohan will go back to studying. and tells him to get back to studying, listen to his mom and keep her safe. he was sorry he had to go but went smiling letting him know things will be ok just hold on.

goku didn't mean to because he died to make sure the kidnapper didn't go after him. Was a good person in life so he got to keep his body. the second time he did it for gohan and the planet. But he could of teleported King kai and friends to a different planet to live on, go back to earth and let cell blow up on his own and wait just in case that wasn't enough. He didn't want to but felt he had to because plot armor weakens eventually.
Vegeta on the other hand, he left temporarily because he needed to cool down. After a bit he came back to be a father whether he wanted to or not. Once he was having another kid, he refused to leave this time despite wanting to go training. Vegeta is a better dad only in the point of, he is there to juggle training and adult/ parent time. Goku isn't as good at this but means well no Matter what. even before the tournament he promises chichi that once cell is gone gohan will go back to studying. and tells him to get back to studying, listen to his mom and keep her safe. he was sorry he had to go but went smiling letting him know things will be ok just hold on.
