- It was time to give back to my ole man, after working his whole life he finally retired. I wanted to get him a car from his era, that was not perfect and needed some love. So he could tinker with it in his new found free time. And I felt this car as prefect, a 1980 bandit trans am!
He graduated high school in 1980 and just 4 year later I was born. So this was the car from that era! So we surprised him on Christmas with it, and caught him a little off guard!
Plans are to get it as solid body as we can, then start down the path of a power train swap! Then he can get this Trans AM from the past back on the open road! - Авто та транспорт

Awesome gesture! Wish my dad was worth surprising him with something like that! Though I do recognize that I at least have a dad, I just find myself parenting him more these days

Awesome gift for your dad. That's definitely a 6.6 Pontiac 400 from what I'm seeing. I graduated in 1981 and I just bought myself a 1980 TA that has a BBC 454 already swapped in it. Gonna be a fun project.

the dizzy hold down tab is notorious for slipping too, best thing we did was bin the pontiac engine for an LY6 turbo build....feckin expensive doin it in australia. thank god for summit.
